I knew nothing about this show but was flipping channels when it started (yes, I still watch "live" TV, lol) and read the info button description and decided to give it a whirl. It drew me in. I've added it to my DVR now.

^ That's it exactly. Tom made his fake caviar, taste like... caviar. They were saying it should have tasted like something else to be a trompe l'oiel. What he did with the seaweed was innovative, but not what they were going for. Add in that it was gummy, and the "sand" was too sandy, and he's the one to go.

Ar this stage I don't want anyone to go home. :-( Really sad for these 2 (Sarah and Amar). Hopefully one of them triumphs in Last Chance Kitchen and returns to the competition. Very happy for Gabri - being in is element (French trained) a bit and getting a win with Buddha. I wanted to try all the wellingtons (with a little extra cook on the lamb one :P ). I especially wanted that peach melba one!

I really want to try that peach melba wellington.

Yes, it seems l like every other week is a clip show.

At this point I'm bummed at anyone going home. Of what was said, it makes sense for Nicole to go home, but I liked her. Sad to see her go.

I was on Ray's side, too. If I'm going to a big event for someone important to me, I am not putting "one last curl" in my hair at the time we are supposed to leave. I'll be ready 15-30 minutes beforehand. Completely ready (aside from putting on a coat, if needed). And if I notice my hair isn't "perfect" oh well, most people won't notice or care.

I don't like the Christmas episode with the engraved toasters. I also don't like the Christmas episode where Ray bought Marie some kind of special gift (figurines?) and Frank and Robert chipped in, and when they all found out how much they cost everyone got mad at him.

Free house cleaning and free footwear. The latter may sound frivolous, but as we age we may need special, expensive shoes - custom made even, for knee or back issues or bunions or whatever.. Also, there are so many kinds of shoes - water shoes, sandals, hiking boots, winter boots, etc. Lastly, I apparently have hard to fit feet - normal enough size/length ( 7 1/2 US sizes) but narrow. I tend to walk out of shoes that don't fully cover the top of my foot*. I need some good custom stuff. :P * yes, I have found some brands/style that works on my feet so I don't need rec or anything. Just stating why I want free footwear for life.

Some of my faves, that I always watch if I happen upon them are Marie's Sculpture, Marie's Glasses, the one where we discover Pat smokes and Amy turns Roberts toothbrush (among many other things they all do), PT&A, Lucky Suit, and the one where Debra's parents are still having sex after being divorced and Ray sees them and Hank & Pat walking in while they are saying you don't have to be married to have sex. Really, I love almost all the ones that had multiple families in it, and especially the ones with all 3.

Picnics aren't just sitting on the ground in a blanket. Some are, of course. But there's a reason there are picnic tables at many parks and other areas. And picnics, even in the USA, aren't just handhelds and lemonade kind of things either. They even make picnic baskets that carry cutlery, and plates, (some carry wine bottles, too). This example is from Walmart, even.

I see nothing wrong with lemon and chicken together. There are lots of lemon and chicken recipes, and across cultures. There are also many sweeter chicken recipes as chicken goes well with fruits and other sweet things. BUT that was still a strange combo she put together. Chicken roulade, stuffed with andouille and that all put into a muffin type thing (I know to make it handheld/easier to eat) and topped with lemon thing (posset?). They said it tasted like lemon curd, but that's not what Sylvia called it. I think even taking one component out would have been good. Take out the muffin and you have chicken roulade with a lemon topping. Take out the andoullie and have less of a clash of flavors, etc. Still may not be great, but better.

I wanted to eat all that food! Also, I'm half Polish and do cook Polish food, but haven't been doing so recently. (I haven't been cooking as much, in general, recently). I think I need to pull out some old family recipes and make some white borscht.
