Wouldn’t the way the scene was shot be the director’s decision? Like putting a table between them or only shooting them from the chest up during the emotional moments? I thought that finale scene was horribly shot. YMMV, of course.

I could be wrong but wasn’t her chair in that video SA posted while they were filming The Flash? I’d be very surprised if she was left off the non-Arrow eps. She’s always. Even in all the crossover eps. And they’ve used Felicity to launch spinoff characters before (Barry, Ray). Granted, this one’s a woman ?

It’ll be the one thing that will make Diggle a little recognizable this season. But given how much this show is pushing this frenemy thing, Digg will probably be dipping fries in milkshakes at the end of the episode ? I’m distracted by Dinah’s boobs in this photo. ITA about 208/209, they were a perfect 1-2 punch and made for the most fun hiatus, IMO. Little did I know that the Olicity setup then ignore for huge blocks of time only to trot them out for the season finales was going to be this show’s MO.

Oh yeah, definitely jealous. I was annoyed when SA was backpedaling in interviews after the lunge because it felt like gaslighting. Heck, the whole first part of the season was an Olicity setup. Almost every episode had moments where my reaction was “OMG, they really are going there.” Which just made the second part boring, annoying, confusing with the swerve. Which, yeah, was to set up the Slade thing in the finale but still ... i’m bitter.

Not that i’ve heard or seen, but they could just show it during the Arrow portion of the crossover if they didn’t want to pay JH or KC extra.

Will it, though? It struck me that to keep people guessing, they might actually not have the GA in this thing married to Felicity Smoak. Maybe they’ll give comic book fans the Laurel or BC pairing they want since Elseworlds will be providing them an excuse ( although imagining Barry with Evil Laurel or Dinah is LOLOLOLOL forever). I’d rather have Barry and Felicity, of course, at least those two have chem and are fun to watch together.

Exactly this. I have several friends who were with and who have left Newsweek. It no longer carries the same cred it had in the past. It’s trash now.

I’d believe Oliver is getting another LI in the future if Amell sparked with anyone else. As it is, he has mostly NOTP faces with everybody not named Emily Bett Rickards. I keep seeing people on Twitter and Tumblr hint that Felicity is really dead. And they’re people who seem to have known stuff in the past. @Soulfire didn’t you get an early peek at the premiere and have heard some confirmations since? Or am I confusing you with other Twitter people?

But it’s not even full time. It’s “series regular” with limited number of eps. I’m curious as to the why and how, too. Because 510 told me what these writers thought of the character and that’s not the stuff you write for somebody you expect to come back. anyway, I didn’t mean to bring all this back up. I was just very curious if there was ever actual confirmation other than from Cassidy (and I could see why she would claim that) because i’ve Seen some posts making it sound like fact.

The Arrow FB page and Twitter show a lot of similar comments regarding how bleak and miserable the show has gotten so it’s definitely not just some people on this board reacting that way.

That’s the thing, though. They’ve admitted when they have made mistakes in the past. When they were surprised by audience reaction. And admitting that in this case would have been a way of making amends with LL fans. But he didn’t do that. His wording, IMO, supports the theory that she was forced back or forced her way back on the show. And contrary to the Tumblr poster’s claim, the hashtag wasn’t really that popular. Or popular enough to trend or tick the meter. Which has always been one of the problems with LL as a character. Not saying people don’t care. They do, she has fans, we know that. But not in enough numbers to matter to Arrow it seems.

Ruby and Emily's interactions are cute and if they don't share at least 1 scene in the crossovers, I'm gonna riot. Colton's and Ruby's descriptions of her are hilarious.

Has anybody from the show actually said Cassidy was brought back because of backlash? I know Cassidy has claimed that at cons but I can't remember if Guggenheim or anybody else has supported that claim. I had a feeling that this was the case. That Emily already had the conversation with Beth. I wish she still had a chance to talk to the other writers (maybe she did but since they gave a shoutout to everybody who dropped by and they didn't for Emily, I don't know), but I'm glad she and Beth had talked about Felicity and her future a lot. Oh and that's the second time I've heard Emily talk about her dad recently. She doesn't mention him often that I sort of briefly wondered if he was still in her life, just because she talks about her mom a lot.

They kinda had to. Once Laurel became irrelevant, there was no reason for Dinah to show up. This show couldn’t be bothered to show a decent relationship/friendship for Felicity and Thea when she was still around but wants me to buy into this redemption of that killer via Felicity. No, thanks.
