  1. This is awful. I remember Dana mentioning Dex a lot in his 1995 special. Condolences to his family and friends.
  2. Seeing old Magnum PI reruns reminded me Tom Selleck can be funny or at least goofy so it's odd they didn't play into that when they got him on the show. I guess they wanted him to be more of an adult in comparison to the guys. That's a bit of stunt casting that paid off later because 1) viewers remembered him years later and 2) unlike other exes for the characters he could believably threaten the Chandler/ Monica romance.
  3. Ty Burell's not dead BTW he just couldn't make it!
  4. Matt LeBlanc posted on his Instagram today
  5. I don't know what that exec quoted in the recent Variety article was talking about! If anything the Loki finale totally allows you to recast Kang! And the sooner the better IMO.
  6. No offense to Esther Rolle and John Amos but my favorite season of Good Times is season 5 when it was just the kids and Willona.
  7. Okay I'm putting "spaghettification" as one of the top "things CGI can do better than practical or optical effects" I've seen. Up there with suitcase armor in Iron Man 2!
  8. Out of all the shows Lee Majors starred in I never thought this would be the one they'd make a big budget movie out of!
  9. In the 1995 Beatles Anthology documentary George Harrison said he always felt sorry for Elvis because he was alone and nobody else knew what it was like to be him. At least being a Beatle, there were three other people who went through the same experience and understood.
  10. My reaction when the news came on my phone was "Damn it." Has anyone seen the Matthew Perry episode of Punk'd the 2000s MTV show with Ashton Kutcher where they prank celebrities? Matthew is accompanying a friend who wants to buy a sports car and it gets raided by "police" because all the cars are supposedly stolen. It's incredible to see how much Matthew is like Chandler IRL, at least with his humor. Here's a clip:
  11. First thing I saw him was on a short lived 1988 FOX show called Boys Will Be Boys. I didn't see the early episodes under the title Second Chance when it had this supernatural premise about a guy who died in the future and is sent back to mentor his younger self(Perry). Second Chance was just about a teen. His best friend was this dumb Italian(sound familiar?). I remember one moment where Perry and the friend were hanging on a fire escape that seemed like it was about to detach. The friend says "Don't worry it looks like it's connected by a strong nail!" and the way Perry goes "Nail?" was so funny and dry. He really had those comedic chops at a young age. RIP.
  12. Well that took an unexpected turn!
  13. Recent news has put this tweet I saw last year in a new light:
  14. The production design on the show continues to be incredible. Holy crap Miss Minutes went to a whole new level of creepy! Balder the Brave mention!
  15. True but even after older fans started singing both shows' praises there was still an attitude from non-watchers that because they were animated they weren't really "canon" and therefore not important and so they dismissed them.
  16. I've heard irate fans say the show didn't make them want to watch Clone Wars and Rebels but they're going to have to whether they want to or not. I feel Filoni was using this show as a way of saying those shows the snobby older fans ignored for being animated and only being for kids FUCKING mattered and are now important to future live action Star Wars so you better be caught up or end up lost!
  17. I also watched the honest trailer commentary. I get the gripes but hearing them made me realize Star Wars fans who chose not to watch any of the animated shows are at a huge disadvantage and because they don't know lore. They don't have any patience for anything that unless it's like the Original Trilogy while those who watched Clone Wars and Rebels are able to accept new kinds of stories and from different POVs.
  18. Yeah I don't know why she decided to look like that. Two favorite Chrissy eps is the handcuffed one and the one where she's nice to her nerdy co-worker(played by the voice of Donatello the Ninja Turtle). I learned this an hour ago and I totally hear it now!
  19. So Brad/X-5 decided to become a movie star in 1977 and not have a mustache?🤔 I want to go to an automat someday.
  20. My family didn't get cable until fall of 1988 when I was 11 so I watched a LOT of bad syndicated TV on the weekends and She's the Sheriff, Somers 1987 sitcom was one of them! Favorite Chrissy episode of Three's Company was when she and Jack got accidentally handcuffed together.
  21. Luke told Leia when she said "Her son is gone." And Luke says "Noone is really gone." He didn't just mean Han. I don't think he thought Kylo wasn't beyond saving, just that Luke was the one to do it. Just like Obi-Wan couldn't turn back Anakin. I figured out the reason when we first meet Obi-Wan in A New Hope we don't think he's a failure. When he tells Luke how his student Darth Vader turned betrayed and killed the other Jedi including Luke's father at that point we think Obi-Wan just taught him fighting skills. By that metric, Obi-Wan must be a great teacher! 😂 Later in TESB do we find out teaching someone to be a Jedi also involves spiritual balance and having the proper emotional mindset.
  22. My post was about how the information given in TFA had already indicated Luke had failed. Obi-Wan blamed himself for Anakin because he was his student and Luke blamed himself because Kylo was his.
