  1. On the Carole thread- go back to page 82... that’s Aug 12; Dennis died on the 10th. I’ve spent over 40 mins searching for the tweet that this quote refers to, and can’t keep searching right now, but this will get anyone who wants to see the conversation a good starting point. The topic was talking about tweets that “Carole used her dead husband and the deaths of Carolyn and Jr to taunt Bethenny on the day that Dennis died.” I haven’t seen the conversation. I don’t know about the tweets. I was trying to help someone who asked for specifics and was also curious. If anyone finds the exact conversation, can you please let me know the page number? Thanks!
  2. I just spent 40 mins trying to find it, but need to stop. If you go to Carole thread, go back to page 82. Do you know how to use the page number function at the top of each page? But, page 82 is Aug 12, he died on Aug 10. I feel like it’s probably on page 81 or 80, but I had to stop searching for now.
  3. Lisa Vanderpump, Adrienne Maloof, Kyle Richards... just 3 that def don’t need the money. ? Fame! I’m gonna live forever... ?
  4. The day of?? If you paid for a ticket, and they can’t go- it’s basic human decency to give you as much time as possible to use that ticket or sell it. If you couldn’t do it, they should pay for the ticket. And imo, this should be a phone conversation not a text. Sorry this happened to you!
  5. Wasn’t her name Lindsey? She was 6’ tall!
  6. Her name also spells Jalyn’s tough. lol! I didn’t know her last name. I’m embarrassed, but it’s pretty funny!
  7. Has her username for this account always been “jaylyns tough?” @ShellyB- when you do see her, can you pass on that there is concern and empathy from the Internet coming her way?
  8. With my students, each is different, but there are broad categories. 1. Those that crumble under any perceived negativity is one category- in their social media lives, in class receiving corrections, in class dealing with normal pre-teen girl drama, etc. I usually show them some tough love. Emphasis on the love, but my basic path for these dancers: 1. Teach them to identify the “source.” Who are they listening to? Do they trust the person giving criticism? 2. Have them try to find the “why” in the feedback. Is this feedback meant to help them? Is it someone trying to make themselves feel better by criticizing them? Is it coming from someone that has no legit reason to provide feedback of any kind? 3. Have them (If necessary- the stuff coming from an untrusted source with no good “why” is off the table) give the same feedback to a fictional character in a role play. How would THEY deliver the same message? 4. Finally, (over time) have them be able to go through the same steps and learn to genuinely appreciate the feedback that is helping them. But, I don’t baby them and I give a ton of recognition as they learn to toughen themselves up while being willing and looking forward to those willing to help. If I were teaching in a pre-professional program, I would do the same thing, but I would add role-playing for what they might get at real auditions, from competitors, etc. On the occasion that I do competitions with dancers. The number one rule is to control what you can, push aside what you can’t and compartmentalize the negative stuff until we are back at the studio. No victims from our team- we have a job. Do it, then we will address the feelings when we get home. (Of course, I’m protecting them as well, but they will NEVER see me call out another team, a competing parent, judge etc) We’re there to learn, grow, accept awards with joy, and be graceful in the losses. There are a few other “categories,” but this is now a book. ETA: I have a zero tolerance for “mean girl.” If someone is pulling that crap, and can’t be trained out of it- please leave. (Usually the “mean girls” are the parents and most of the time we can develop a rapport, but if not, I will suggest other studios to them.)
  9. Joining you there! And thank you for telling me the people who were in the end and who wins- now I don’t have to watch the last episode first!
  10. OMG! Does anyone remember the name of that reality show/ contest show? I watched a similar show that chose the new lead of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and loved it!
  11. English Teacher, Is school back in session? Is it time to clean up the grammar in fear of THE red pen? By the way, you often post comments that make me feel like you own some real estate in my brain. ?
  12. Yeah- they are athletes, but I don’t think many of them could get through this. Dancers also train their bodies dancers differently than soldiers or weight lifters would. (Ok, that’s a captain obvious moment.)
  13. And, she starts the conversation by saying: “I love you like a daughter...” It seemed to me that she felt a little bad for being so harsh in front of others when Dayton first arrived. I am only guessing by her body language and the pain I saw on KELLI’S face. It’s also pretty obvious that CMT isn’t showing the good stuff from Dayton while trying very hard to show ONLY the good stuff out of Victoria. All involved should be angry with the CMT edit. They are trying to tell a story of good vs bad. Ironically, their “good choice” ends up being our villain. These are two YOUNG ladies. CMT could have found other drama that wasn’t so personally damaging.
  14. And he’s says it’s a modified version of US Army fitness test.
  15. Well, hopefully we get clarification soon, but THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THE CAKE! There HAS to be cake!
  16. Lol! Based on the messages in her card... “you’ll laugh about this one day...” and, “you’re a beautiful dancer...” I thought she messed up or blanked or fell during a SG performance. Breakup makes more sense. I had this pic in my head of her falling off of a tight stage. ?
  17. Why are just her legs spray tanned??? Looks like she dipped the lower half of her body in the tanning solution and fell asleep while in there.
  18. Oh, Jennv. If they have the fantasy camp, please don’t let what you think others will think of you get in your way of embracing life!! If they hold one, I will be your “rookie buddy.” We could get through it and overcome it together. Plus, think of the fun!!!
  19. Here’s a disclaimer: I LOVE Kashara. I think she’s earned what she has on DCC and I like her personality and her dance style Here’s a question: In previous years, we’ve seen (and have been told) that the Group 1 leader is what other teams might call the “captain.” Lacey is group 1, right? At the opening meeting, Kelli calls on Kash to reveal the team mantra/hashtag for the year. Night one, they show Kash teaching with Lacey helping. Last night, Kash teaching again. During last night’s office visits, Kelli tells two of them to work with Kash for extra help. So, why haven’t we seen Lacey have more of an active role? Is there not another vet that can add value for extra help? Maddie has teaching experience as well. Not sure about Kelli’s teaching experience, but she’s a group leader as well. I’m NOT trying to start Kash bashing; actually, I’d love to be able to avoid it. Is there an issue we don’t know surrounding Lacey? Why not just give Kash the GL1 position if they are going to give her those traditional duties? Are they still upset about Lacey’s lack of “step-up” from last year? If so, why give her group 1?
  20. They told both Kristen and Victoria to work with Kashara. I LOVE Kash, but there’s not another vet/ group leader that could add some value? Also, Kash taught last week and this week. In past years, we’ve seen them mix it up a bit. Lacey is group 1 leader. We’ve been told that group 1 leader is like other squad’s captain position. I just wonder what’s up with this. Again, NOTHING against Kash at all.
  21. In all fairness, Kristin would have been like 12ish in season 2? But I also remember Maddie signing during her “some fun fact” either last year or the year before.
  22. There have been several vets cut over the years that we’ve watched. Not sure why she would say that. Plus, every year Judy or Kelli says some form of: “We’ve cut vets in the past and will do it again if they don’t uphold the DCC standards.” Kaitlyn LeGrand- almost end of training camp Chelsea- Last 3rd of camp Hannah- early in camp Erica- late in camp Holly- Last 3rd of camp (but officially, they allowed her to “resign,” but we know it wasn’t her “choice”) Tara late in camp I know I’m missing one from seasons 1 or 2, I just don’t remember who. I’ve also left off the ones who left or who were cut during the season because we didn’t see those. Like Kaitlyn LaRue- was she cut? Kalyssa- cut or abandoned job? Who am I missing?
  23. Please encourage those talks! I would fly down from MD to do it! 1/2 day learning a full dance with Judy 1/2 day of Kitty, 1/2 day of you, another day with Jen K, Jinelle and some current DCC 3+ years mini makeovers then a “judgement segment with K&J lol! I don’t want much. Oh! If we could watch finals while there? That would be nice. (Ok, I’m kidding about this part!)
  24. In my humble opinion, no one is 100% good or 100% bad. (Life in general, not just housewives) In this B/C saga (and can’t it end, soon, please) the same rule exists. Trying to pick one side, and only one side, is futile because for every tit there exists a tat. The editors posted a package that shows this. We all may have personal preferences for one over the other, but to reasonably argue that this entire issue is all one person’s issue is a difficult (if not impossible) battle to win. They are both equally wrong. And, they are both equally right. My personal preference lies with B, but to watch this season and to say that she’s completely the victim would make me feel ridiculous. I USED to really like Carole, but to say that she’s been completely victimized is also impossible. IMO, reading the back and forth arguing about them is as frustrating as hearing them both try to prove their “rightness” on the show. Bring back the days of Ramona chastising Simon about coming to girls night. Bring back the days of Alex social climbing. Bring back the days of quipping “Zach Posen Paisley dresses.” Bring back the days of Lu thinking she’s pulled the wool over the viewer’s eyes by acting like she really lived the life she preached.
  25. And even Ramona chimes in and says: “it was very mean spirited,” to Dorinda during all the over-talking at that part of the conversation. I mean, Ramona, you set this Dream Team thing up- did you FORGET for a minute?
