You do realize that @ShellyB (Dayton’s mom) is quite the accomplished dancer, 20- year teacher, competition director and a full-fledged coach for DCC right now, right? She cheered in the early 90’s, was on show group, so I don’t know why you would think she didn’t learn as many dances as current DCC do? Football games are the same length today as they were then. Still the same amount of sideline time then as today. Even way back then, there were more than 300 songs that could be played at the stadium (actually I think popular music was better then, but I digress) at any given break in the football action. I guess I’m just taken aback by your statements. Don’t mean to be aggressive at all, but I read your above post as just not based in fact at all.

I think that Kelli needs Charlotte’s approval to go above a squad of 36. Whether or not she asked for approval this year is something we don’t or won’t know (unless someone has recording devices on the phones at the Star ?). I DO remember that with Amy A, she really wanted to say yes to her, but slept on it and decided that the kick quality couldn’t be sacrificed. Well, we know Jenn K was doing it in her prep classes.

I don’t think this was created for people to actually buy it and wear it while hanging out on the beach or by the pool. This was for this shoot, and maybe some in the future, but it’s not designed to sell to the masses.

I’ve been watching deleted scenes on CMT app. Have you all ever watched the deleted scenes of Melissa’s mentoring sessions. Gosh, I like her substance so much more now that I actually SEE it. She hits it right on the nose and has actual notes that she gives them. I know many here are annoyed by her, but this was fun for me to watch.

She was one of two that are cut in the last night of camp. The other is escaping me right now.

No... someone upthread said that they “have a feeling that we’re watching the last season...” so, it’s not even a rumor, nor has it been discussed here by insiders, nor has it been announced by either DCC or CMT. Anything is possible, but we could just as easily say, “I have a feeling that the show is getting renewed for another 5 years with a new format.”

Also, published photos in a bikini calendar might violate a “code of conduct” clause for the hospital that employs her.

In season 7, Kelli talks about the natural competition that exists of who will make the calendar? Then, during the extended photo shoot episode, all of the girls talk about THAT friendly competition. Fast forward 6 years, Kelli says the competition is: who will make the cover, and again, the girls’ comments follow her lead.

Basically, it’s giving someone an unfair advantage. I asked Shelly this, and she answered this in a thread quite a while ago - I’ll try to find it- but loosely she said that it wouldn’t be considered ok, as all TCC should enter at the same level of learning. @ShellyB- I know I asked you this, and remember the sentiment, but not your exact quote. Can you help, please? I think I specifically asked, “what would prevent a vet from pre-teaching someone that they are close to the dances?”

See my next post... it’s really not that easy. And, again, I had your point of view until I tried it. And I do have lots of training.

About a month ago, I was saying the same thing about learning their key dances from YouTube videos. I DO have dance training and have learned dances from video. (It’s not as easy as one may think.) But, if I have a video that was constantly showing one or two dancers with the camera consistently on them, it’s doable. So, I’ve actually gone and looked for any video that would allow me to learn it. Here’s the problem- most fan videos are taken from so far away, it’s really, really difficult to see what they are doing with any kind of detail. The videos taken of the HD screen- because the camera shows different people at different times, then goes back to wide shots of the formations, it is near impossible to see the choreo with continuity. So, other than the kickline, and maybe a few sideline dances (Prince comes to mind), I am convinced that it isn’t possible to learn the entire dance (in complete real time sequence) from what I’ve found on YouTube. These dancers are smart, and I’ve never seen a dancer (that makes training camp) that I would call lazy. The stakes are high. If it was possible to pull the choreo in a way that can be duplicated, many, if not most, would do it. I don’t think it can be done, to be honest. My fellow dancers here.... have you ever tried to string Thunder together from available videos? ETA: The DCC org is probably cognizant of what they publish. They are also trying to protect their choreo. In the dance world, one can’t copywright choreo, so studios, choreographers try very hard to not let their stuff “out there” to protect their material. This is a big issue in the competitive dance world. Sorry for the novel.

Watching the quick few seconds that was shown, coupled with comments from office visits, it’s obvious that Dayton wasn’t pre-taught.

Shelly, I commend you for your high level of integrity. I can’t imagine how strong the temptation must have been to teach Dayton the signature dance prior to camp. It’s obvious to me (edits and all) that she wanted this and that you wanted this for her. Congrats for letting it unfold the “right” way... speaks volumes about who you both are. And, as a mom, it must have been SO FRUSTRATING that she was late to the makeover, but again, letting young adults to learn from mistakes only helps in the long run, no matter how hard it is to watch it. Big respect for you.

And, this is why she’s too immature to be an example for Rookies. (But, this post could be completely unrelated to the show...just to be fair.)

COMPLETE SPECULATION: maybe one of the vets said that they heard that ONE of the legacies was bragging about having a guaranteed spot and Kelli pointed the finger at Dayton without being sure? It doesn’t make sense that she wouldn’t call V in and have the same “you’re not going to make the team because of your mother” conversation with both of them. We don’t see more than seconds of what really happens, but that statement has me confused.

I have my “prune pic,” and it’s NOT cute, but I can’t figure out how to post it. I use my phone (iPhone 7), and I keep getting, “file too large..” when I try to upload it. If someone can help, I’m ok posting it. Nothing to hide here and happy to provide a laugh for Friday afternoon. I’m convinced that they published the smaller calendar by mistake. There is Kelli, kneeling, same shot as the cover, but everyone else inside small calendar is standing. I think BOTH the Kelli shot and the Savannah shots were placeholders while they were still in process of finding different pics of the same girls. Perhaps the new pics were chosen and the updated version wasn’t correctly saved, so they published the wrong version??? That’s the only thing that makes sense to me.

I think @scorpio1031 can answer this best. I have two drinks in my hand right now. ? @mmm- we have a drinking game for certain topics as they come up on here a lot. You’re all good, and I read that others have answered. She was called into the office multiple times for blending and for weight. (Most of us can’t see the weight part from photos). The rumor about involvement of camera time and Victoria is a very unsubstantiated rumor IMO as it has been directly debunked by a reliable insider. ?

Well, during a previous reunion (Dorinda’s first), D was asked about her working status and she told them she was involved in the sale of his Geo-Political Consulting Co. Bethenny then comments: “Dorinda is a smart cookie.” Also, same reunion, Andy points out that Hillary Clinton shouted out to Dorinda about watching her on the show. D then says she knows them from his Biz. You don’t get those high level (think of them what you will) by just writing speeches for a Congressperson.
