  1. I wonder if part of Andrea was the actress too. She always came off as smug and conceited when she wasn't whining. Some of the things on the show that made me want to smack her could have been delivered totally differently. For instance when she jumped off the wall to kill the walker her delivery of "and that's how it's done" was all self important and proud and well just douchey. If she had delivered the line more seriously, like we need to take care of these walkers before they get to close, well it would have prompted a completely different reaction from me. It doesn't help that I just hate hate hate the character she played on X-Files.
  2. Amen to that. They are looking way rough. Rick's beard probably will want it's own credit next year.
  3. I realize this show is based on a comic book, which let's face it is geared towards a certain population of men. When I found myself detesting a lot of the main women characters in the show the first season I had to wonder WTF? You have Lori, who runs off in the middle of the Apocalypse to have sex with her recently deceased husband's best friend, leaving other people to make sure her kid is safe I guess? To her credit she immediately ends it when said husband returns, but them mind-screws best friend when he says he's leaving. Then their is Andrea, who really came off as lazy. Sophia missing? Everyone else checking cars for booty? Well Andrea will just be sitting in the RV playing with her gun. Then Carol who brings an ironing board to the Apocalypse, spends the first half of the seasons whining and the last killing. Beth is only good as a Nanny. Michonne and Maggie are about the only ones shown as strong women who can defend their own person. Is this just the natural arcs of the show, or did it suffer (especially the first couple of seasons) from comic book boy view?
  4. On rewatch I noticed something interested. The kid that Carl guns down in the woods during the Govenor's raid? He was leading everyone in the Tombs and looking like he quite enjoyed it, while everyone else (except crazy ass Govenor) looked like they were going to soil themselves. Maybe Carl didn't make a bad call on that one, because the kid looked truly menacing in the Tombs.
  5. I think I love you Boofish. I thought I was the only one that was just "eh" on Breaking Bad. I got to Season 3 just because everyone kept telling me how magical it all was. I just didn't see it. At. All.
  6. I'm a total newb. I watched it all during 4th of July weekend during the Dead, White, and Blue marathon. My 130 pound baby (dog) decided he was terrified of fireworks this year so we stayed in most of the weekend. I wanted to watch it when it originally came out as it seemed like something I'd like, but my Mom was very ill with cancer and a show about death and all that wasn't something I needed to see at that time. I kept thinking I'd catch up after season 2 and 3 aired but never got around to it. My sister told me about the marathon, we had a huge dog trying to escape the house whenever he was alone and there were fireworks, so the stars aligned for me to finally see the show. It is probably a good thing that I binge watched it, because there are points in the show when it got real slow or stuff and thangs were drawn out for to long that my ADHD would have kicked in and I would have stopped watching. What does OG mean?
  7. I don't know about my other four, but I would definitely take that dude from the show about building luxury treehouses. Why don't these people build a treehouse, or at least sleep in the trees. Along with the word Zombie did Hunger Games not exist in their universe?
  8. There was a WD special on about the making of the Walkers, and they said they've had to change the make up and look of them because they have been around awhile now and are starting to decompose. It was really interesting!
  9. Early on the one thing that just bugged the hell out of me was when Patrick attacked the cell block Rick, Daryl, and Glen were running around trying to save everyone and Tyrese ran in and just checked on Karen and didn't care about anyone else. The kids thing helped redeem him a lot in my eyes. His complaining did bother me too, but at least he'd do the task after he got done complaining as opposed to Andrea who would complain and then go sit on her lazy ass and play with her gun.
  10. I never quite got why she was Team Shane when all he wanted to do was call it a day and forget about Sophia. Either he was really quiet about it and only bitched to Rick, or Pre Season 3 Carol was even more stupid than I thought. LOL @ Stuff & Thangs. I still crack up everytime someone mentions that.
  11. So much of this speaks to not only him being an only child, but today's everyone is important and gets a trophy mentality. Sounds like home wasn't exactly rainbows and puppies pre ZA. I didn't like Lori before she ever hit the screen based on Rick and Shane's conversation and her saying those hateful things in front of Carl. Then you got the kind of Mother that takesa time out from making sure you are safe to have booty calls in the woods....A Dad that loses his mind every once in awhile....Well I'm kind of suprised he isn't more messed up than he is.
  12. The "has no honor" thing ticked me off because she said it right in front of his kid. Carol really can be a self-righteous A Hole. She's not really good with a pitch either. "You are a henchman and I am a burden, hey let's run off on our own"...lol When Rick and her set off for their run I really don't think Rick had it in his mind to banish her yet, or wouldn't have had it in him to do it. Then she showed absolutely no remorse and was so "SOMEONE had to do something" that he thought there was no coming back for her. I know I sure as shit wouldn't want to sleep in the same building with her, especially during allergy season. Oh and one more thing that irks the crap out of me....The hitting on Daryl when that kind of affection is obviously not returned. Leave the poor guy alone. I think Daryl is like Asexual - he only has sex with himself.
  13. Gareth's jacket has lines going through it, but I can't tell from the screen shot if the arm does. They are also wearing a watch - I don't think I've seen Darly with a watch on before so hopefully it's Gareth. Ohhh good catch that does look like the Carl shot could be from a different angle as the Beth shot!
  14. I'm not sure if we are allowed to do this, but on another forum they have the entire thing frame by frame: http://spoilthedead.com/forum/showthread.php/13385-Season-5-Trailer-Shot-by-shot!-9-9 Please remove if we aren't allow to reference other boards. One new thing that I saw was the room where there are clothing racks and the hole in the floor with the bloated walkers,
  15. I wouldn't worry about that...Check out the trailer from season 4: It looks like a completely different show than what really happened during season 4. I'm sure this one is the same way!
  16. Rick could be saying he doesn't trust Abraham or Eugene's BS story...I'm not positive but I think it could be Rick that Abraham is beating in that one scene. They make it look like Abraham wants to take off but all of Rick's people aren't there yet and he doesn't want to go.
  17. That's what I thought too...Whenever Gareth is talking it looks like it's somewhere else, and any inside shots are not in that room. I'm thinking his talking about "joining" is joining their little human buffet instead of them being the buffet. I'm meh on Beth but her story line looks super interesting. The girl Beth is helping hold down on the table and they are tying her arm off looks like the same person chomping on the cop on the ground. She's shooting up walkers in another quick flash so it seems she's going to try and fight her way out. My very first thought was this group would be one that wanted to repopulate the Earth, but they could be doing experiments too, possibly trying to find a vaccine or something. Unfortunately if this were to happen and people wanted the Earth back there would have to be something like this going on. Beth also has a bad cut/stitches going across her left cheek before the cop smashes her in the face. They seem to be there through most of her scenes in the preview...I can't believe I am excited for a Beth story line!
  18. I keep thinking the title of this thread should be Rick Grimes - Taking a bite out of crime
  19. Carol is probably who I consider the most interesting character on the show. She is so many things - weak, strong, hypocritical, honest, sneaky, like a real person would be in this situation. I'll admit I wanted her as walker bait as she stood on the side of the road ringing her hands over her daughter instead of running after her. What Mother does that? I wanted her as walker bait even more when she disclosed that not only did her hubby beat her but had designs on his own daughter and she was still with him. I will never understand women who don't have the Mama Bear in them. Never. I've never been knocked around so I can't fathom what that would do to your psyche, but you would think a bit of the maternal instinct would poke it's head out. I mean she did pull Sophia away from her Father when he wanted her to stay with him, but that was just after Shane put the beat down on him. I can admit I am so judgemental about this and people that allow their kids to be in horrible situations. Then she stood around complaining about Rick's leadership but was unwilling to step up herself. Anyone can bitch when they have hindsight. I'm convinced there really are no "right" decisions in a situation like the ZA. Just decisions that you have to live with. I don't believe for one second that a Shanarchy would have been better than a Ricktatorship. I mean really if she wouldn't have chided Patrick for being weak when he said he was sick and tell him to possibly go get checked out by the Doc that whole disaster wouldn't have happened. If she would have been paying even the least bit of attention she would have realized that Lizzie and Mika's Dad was talking to Mika when he said "Take care of your sister". Then there was Mika telling her over and over and over again that Lizzie was just not right. But Carol grew and learned from all these situations. She became strong when before she was weak. She found her Mama Bear, maybe a bit too much, but none the less found it. I also can't help but wonder if/when they meet up with the others if they'll tell the truth about Lizzie. Yes, we all saw that she was a whack job and know it needed to be done, but a bunch of people who weren't in that situation, that know that she already murdered two people in cold blood but has now killed a child, well I don't think that's going to go down so well. Saving Judith might help her with Rick, but the others? She's just fascinating and Melissa has got to be one of the most talented actors around. To be able to stir up so many emotions in people and make it seem so real is just outstanding.
  20. That is an excellent point and I hadn't thought of it like that. I think one of the downfalls with watching a show so quickly is it is hard to see growth in characters and I am used to him being a brat who is never where he is supposed to be.
  21. As a late-comer I don't know about the criticisms, but any character introduced to the show needs to be at least interesting, and Tyrese is a snooze fest. I LOVE the actor playing him, so I hope that maybe they can build up his character in the show. Sasha can bite it at any time - never liked her one bit.
  22. I think it would have to be drawn out for quite awhile to be believable. It's almost like he has the qualities of someone with Asperger syndrome. He seems incredibly uncomfortable with being touched - like when Beth hugged him in the prison. He had a continual eye roll going on for any of Carol's (maybe) joking come ons. Even though a lot of people don't seem to like the pairing, I think Beth resurfacing would be the best bet, even if the age difference is a little creepy. Carol seems more like an older sister type for him. I would probably still watch, but I would be a so not happy camper. The show would have to be incredibly good or I'd fall away. I think my favorite part of Daryl is no matter what they say he'll do it. "So you want me to go up against 100 walkers with two arrows while half our team stays behind? Alright." Every time he says alright I crack up.
  23. Who would you bury and who would you burn? Burn: Andrea - I really liked her before they got to the farm. Then she turned into a jackass for the rest of her run. And she shot Daryl. No one can earn the love back after shooting Daryl. Sasha - I didn't mind her to much at the beginning. It kind of bugged that she was on the council, but I could deal with her bossy ways since it seemed like foreplay with Bob. Then we had that horrible episode centered kind of around her and I wanted to punch her in the throat. Burn baby burn. Carl - I wouldn't even have to think about it. I have wanted this kid to be walker kibble since the beginning. Randall - Just because we wasted so much damn time chauffeuring his ass back and forth. Merle - I might even light his redneck ass on fire while he was alive. Rosita - Anyone who wears a tied up shirt, daisy dukes, and hoop earrings to the apocalypse deserves to burn. Eugene - Because I think he's a liar. Bob- I just don't care anything about this character. Why is he on my TeeVee? Bury : Rick - I know he makes mistakes and rips out people's jugular veins. He's human, tries to do the right thing, and is pretty hot when he isn't to dirty. Daryl - LOVE him. Hershel - I hate that he's not on the show anymore. He did an awesome job taking Dale's place as the elder with the sage advice, and I hope they can replace him with an equally compelling character because they need that. Carol - I hate that she committed cold blooded murder and understand why Rick threw her out, but I still can't help but love her. Maggie - Awesome character, strong female without being all whiny about it (looking at you Andrea), and just all around bad ass. Glenn - Who couldn't help but love Glenn? Michonne - Unfortunately she is close to going to the burn pile if she doesn't show a little more human. Being perfect gets boring really fast. Coin Toss: Tyreese, Tara, Abraham - I really wouldn't care one way or the other. Lori - I can't decide if I love or hate her, kind of like how she was with Shane. I wonder if Shane would have planned to murder Rick if it wasn't for all her Go Don't Go crap. She was sending him mixed signals big time on the farm that could be totally misinterpreted by a person on the edge. Shane - I think he'd go on the burn pile, but there is that part of me that feels for him and the situation he was in. It didn't help that Lori was mind fucking him on the farm, so I can't decide.
  24. Oh yeah I think he will be there until the end too. I don't think Rick would make it past Carl's death without going totally nuts. So I just finished the series and my Carl hate is still in full effect. Why he went with Michonne like he was afraid/mad/who knows instead of Rick....I mean yeah, Rick bit out someone's jugular, but I think most parents facing that situation - their child about to be raped - would not think twice about doing that if they thought of it, apocalypse or not. When he was walking to the box car I starting saying "shoot him!" to the TV as my boyfriend looked at me like I was a monster...lol We are going to have to deal with the little brat for the duration...
  25. As someone who binge watched the show during this last weekend I can't bare to watch this show with them split up again. Seeing banal episodes featured around forgettable characters like Sasha and Bob while awesome characters like Hershel are gone just sucked the big one. Tara's kind of ok, but I really don't care if she becomes a Walker Scooby snack. It's not so much that they are new - I liked Maggie and Michone right away, and even though I was nervous about Hershel being perhaps not what he seemed I still wanted to hear his story. The new characters Abraham, Rosita, and Eugene - I could care less if they die. They had quite a bit of screen time during the last part of season 4 and I still hate when they have screen time because it takes away from characters I care about or am interested in hearing their story. I think Eugene is a great big liar as I can't see someone who asks people what kind of gamer they are being someone that would have time to know national security secrets. Also I can't imagine them trying to transport Judith to Washington, and I can't imagine Rick just leaving her again. The show is way better when they are all together. One thing I can't wait for - Rick finding out that Carol has been protecting Judith this whole time. I hope they don't drag it out.
