  1. Yes, in the book!
  2. Did everyone see the new trailer- it looks beautiful, & exciting…
  3. It was filmed during the pandemic ( late 2020), & is just being released this year for the first time! They have changed the name many times!
  4. I think EVERYONE expected the show to end before she was done writing the books. Everyone will have to wait to read however more of them she writes ( she waffles on this sometimes after saying 10 will be the last). I don’t think that ghost thing is such a big question.
  5. Was everyone there talking about it? So you thought you should watch it? Lol I went to Scotland this past June- yes it was beautiful!
  6. I went to Winchester recently on a trip to England. It was a bit inspired by our love of the show. Our hotel, the King Alfred Inn, above a pub, was on the site of a nunnery that Aelswith had built. Unfortunately the Anglo-Saxons did not leave much behind because they built in wood. Today’s Winchester has the street layout that King Alfred established. Does anyone else go on vacations inspired by their fave shows?
  7. They were between a rock & a hard place- recast & stick to the written storylines, or write Jenny off & anger book diehards. The fact that almost every other actor returns when their parts come up says to me this is a pleasant show to work on with great people!
  8. I haven’t got my hubby convinced to get rid of cable because of sports which need to be live on a big screen Tv, despite all the streaming services we now have 😂😂.
  9. I have an ongoing struggle over where Roger & Bree belong. There is no doubt for me that Claire belongs in the past with Jamie, but just because Roger & Bree can travel doesn’t mean they belong there. I think Bree wants to spend more time with her mom, & newfound dad, but she would be better off in her own time, imo.
  10. I have always wanted Frank to be more thankful to Jamie for giving him a child, otherwise he would never have had one. But I never really see TVFrank being that!
  11. mythoughts If you read through this thread, there are many posters who feel the same as you! They cannot imagine choosing Jamie over modern conveniences. Most of us have also watched this show more than once, (way more than once) so we forget what it was like on our first round, when we had no idea what was coming, how the story would play out. Maybe the show runner wanted it to look questionable that Claire made a choice, but I never questioned that she was going to choose Jamie! ♥️♥️♥️
  12. All of this! I hadn’t realized the baby was alive, until months later on when they talk about it. I guess this is where I am better at “seeing “ it than reading it! I think everyone must think Claire is doing this with medicine not magic?
  13. Look at you, history girl, all excited about the war battles! I hope the season will be good!
  14. I don’t think the ridge residents that did show up to support Claire & Jamie turned their backs on them. Jamie told them that they would be outnumbered (because the fisherfolk had joined Brown’s side), & a shootout would just result in everyone dying! If we finally get to the war next season- will that be better? The Frasers cannot catch a lucky break. I must admit though I prefer some drama to boring life on the ridge☺️.
  15. Oh no, don’t spoil it! Make her wait! My mom recorded them all but has not started yet, I almost wanted to tell her to wait until next yr before the next season, lol!
  16. We watched 101 after the finale last night. My hubby suggested it as we are going on a trip to Scotland in a month, & he wanted to revisit the scenery & sets. Twist my arm! I get to enjoy Hottest young Jamie - that’s the scenery for me! Hoping we will get through 2 & 1/2 seasons in a month🤞. The show is so beautiful to look at, & Scotland certainly was a character in the early seasons.
  17. I loved this episode. It had all the ingredients of a great OL episode. . Action, fighting, lovin’, mystery, fear, a cliffhanger ( which I love). This director has a talent- let’s have him back please! Loved the shot through the hand & the eyeball. Riding the horses across the sand. The fire lit scenes, the broken glass, the panning out from the bedroom, & the house! I loved that it started with action. And who knew they had a basement or that it was full of guns! Team Fraser know what to do in a shootout! I love every minute of Jamie & Claire’s onscreen time ( all seasons & episodes). I appreciated the love scene because if it was the last night I thought we might have together alone, I’d be memorizing Jamie & spending it making love too. I even thought Roger & Bree’s intimate moment was the most natural one we’ve ever seen- kudos to the intimacy co-ordinator if this is what she brought. Jem talking to Bree’s baby bump was sweet. Did Jamie figure out that Tom is in love with Claire when he saw him staring at her? I was terrified for Claire when they took her away from Jamie. Can you imagine her fear of being raped again? And she does question why Tom is along. I felt the wagon ride in general was too long, but then it showcased the impending doom. All Claire’s fears- for herself, Jamie, her family. I loved Ian & the Cherokee coming to Jamie’s rescue! Ending with another round of action was a wonderful bookend. At least Claire is safe in jail ( for a year, haha), & Jamie is free to rescue her! I enjoyed the season even if it felt a bit like a “middle”.
  18. After the finale we watched episode 101 & I was reminded that this show always looks good! I just love the production values. The director on 608 is clearly very talented. And casting is always spot on!
  19. Sam & Cait became producers in season 5
  20. My hubby keeps asking when the war is actually coming, he should be thrilled with next season. I did not really love Echo, far too many battles for me. But I did like both 210, 301, & especially 507 so 🤞🤞. I quite enjoy the personal stories. I cannot wait to meet Grown up William ( unlike many readers I like him a lot). I certainly do not want Little House on the Prairie so I feel bad for saying I loved this book, which sincerely shit all over Claire. And honestly did not have a lot of Jamie storylines, besides standing by Claire, & rescuing her time & time again. These books are a whole lot of recycling plots after the first 2 & 1/2 books unfortunately. Those first ones had completely fresh take on an adventure time travel historical romance. It’s how we got hooked. As to Sam’s portrayal of Jamie - I think he is more BookJamie this season than ever. Did we all forget BookJamie is one to keep his emotions off his face!? I’ve always been so grateful that Sam played him much more expressive than the books do. As a producer when he talks about this season, he talks a lot about Cait, & his younger co-stars’ having a chance to shine so I think he understood the assignment. And He might get a bit more riled up in the finale!
  21. We can agree to disagree! And I will add that her family could also have been a bit more observant. I do wonder if Covid rules helped the show make some of the choices they did on what to include this season?
  22. There was stuff to love in this episode: Jamie’s quiet restraint in the face of accusations from around the ridge. Couldn’t you tell he was just trying to keep it all together. Sam says a great deal without saying anything! And clearly worrying, with the finger tapping! The tears in his eyes while Claire was having her breakdown. I liked him actually listening to her, it reminded me of 111 where she tells him she’s from the future. Then he had all the right words! ♥️ And as usual Cait deserves an award for that scene. I did not think Jamie was ignoring Claire’s problem, he knew there was one, (she even said she was taking the ether), but he was waiting for her to come to him about it, instead of badgering her. Ok- maybe he could have kept asking her if something was wrong, but let’s face it, Claire likes to keep it all in, under control, it was really about high time that she was unable to compartmentalize. Jamie knows what it’s like to deal with trauma, he’s been doing it for how long? 30 years? Malva’s speech at the beginning! She told the truth, it’s just that it was not about Jamie. Allan grabbing that baby casket from Claire was a great addition, & hopefully a good clue to Nonreaders.
  23. Unfortunately the addition of this Lizzie plot was ill placed directly after Malva’s murder, so did not really add comic relief. I thought Bri was showing a bit of a baby bump. Remember in these clothes they don’t always show until they are quite far along. Remember Claire in Paris - one day she was in normal clothes, then all of a sudden she was huge. We only saw that little bump when she was in her shift in her bedroom. I liked this episode, apparently more than most people.
  24. Now that I have read ahead of the show, I really miss these episode threads where we try to solve the mystery, and predict the future. I still love reading them.
  25. There is not!
