  1. As far as Rocky Horror goes, I'm surprised no one has done Dr. Frankenfurter yet
  2. With Amazon's near unlimited budget, I feel like the scope of the show could be a lot different than upscale Project Runway. The secret seamstresses are really holding it back because many of the designers supposedly can't sew, thus they're waiting on overnight mystery packages to see if what they envision is actually produced. Plus because they appear to have to have some hand in putting these garments together on day one, it inherently limits their design because they don't necessarily have the technical prowess to achieve their intended goals. Ultimately, Amazon is looking to sell these garments, so it should want to create a talented in-house group of designers. Perhaps each designer should be given like two on-camera sewers or so per challenge in which they have to make a capsule collection. Maybe they can have a week where they do all menswear, plus size, or any other sort of category like resort wear. Also, one week can be dedicated to different fabrics or techniques like leather/pleather and the designers learn how to work with different materials. The show should be a giant infomercial for Amazon fashion and it's held back by a lack of foresight.
  3. It's difficult enough putting aside the bad behavior (to put it lightly) of Brita and [name redacted] but doing an Ike Turner impression is just crazy to me. Generally, you act in a character the audience would want to root for and Ike ain't it.
  4. OMG. This can be described as high-end clown
  5. I was to believe that a male seamstress was called a stitcher, but having no experience with a needle or thread, I could be mistaken
  6. I think she may have finally taken a bath, so that's a change, I guess.
  7. It's a shame the catfishiest queen keeps winning, but at least The Trevor Project is getting some donations out of this.
  8. I think a season where LD has to live through a global pandemic would be comedy gold
  9. The maxi challenge was overproduced, unfunny, and felt like it was a skit on some Nickelodeon kids show. I'm sure a lot of these queens are talented, but this was not enjoyable.
  10. After I had to stop watching after the second episode last year, it was a nice change of pace to be rooting for some queens again.
  11. Sorry, the week before last. Anyway, my point (I'm not sure what it is) still stands
  12. I'm absolutely shocked they didn't get rid of Nancy. After years of reality television viewing, the token old contestant always automatically leaves if they end up in the botton. She was in the bottom last week too, so I'm completely flummoxed. However, I'm pretty sure Britanny was chosen to be auf'd (or whatever the new term is) just so Christian can use the all-too common reality tv trope of the save. I'm sure Brittany will make it to final four, Nancy will pack her bags next week, and Delvin will continue to be a prick who thinks far too highly of himself and his mediocre talent.
  13. Regardless of who is officially crowned winner, I believe Sebastian will have the greatest success coming out of this season.
  14. This episode was a relatively nice reprieve from the usual hijinks this season has hoisted upon the viewers. I agree that both rooms were sedate, but I think that's what the designers were going for, so that's a success in its own right. I know $2000 isn't necessarily a lot of money for a whole room makeover, but I still don't see where the money is spent most of the time. Maybe I'm accustomed to looking for bargains on everything, so my assumptions on what things really cost are out of whack with reality. No other word can really describe Frank's room other that plain. I saw someone upthread mention how the designers used to do more in a room, but that's just a sign of the current design trends. The original Trading Spaces came out before Apple Stores and other tech companies pushed sleek and ultra minimal as sophisticated. Not to take anything away from that style, but I'm so sick of grey walls (even my own), but maybe we're headed in a more ornate direction like rococo or art deco (hightly doubt it). Overall, I'd have been very happy to have that room. I even liked the homemade art projects, which usually end up wretched. Carter's room turned out a lot better than Ty's last barnyard bedroom debacle (I'm still annoyed by that one). It could have done with one less log/branch/nature project. The log lounge chair looked like a medieval torture device painted white. Also, the hanging plant headboard looked like it was double the width on one side, which would drive my OCD into overdrive. I really liked the look of the headboard, but there is no way I'd want one myself.
  15. I’ll take a Project Runway Masters over another Juniors any day of the week.
  16. I think this is the episode that broke me. I don't think I can deal with the producer shenanigans any longer.
  17. The bittersweet ending is we're all bitter and D&D are getting that sweet Stars Wars cash
  18. Reminded me of an episode from the first season of Project Runway where the designers were tasked with creating a garment based around the word envy. I like having a conceptual challenge where a look is less about wearability and can be more costumey, but a lot of the designs fell flat for me. There weren't any standout pieces for me this week, which is unfortunate, because I thought this had a lot of potential. I don't even mind obvious or cliche for this sort of challenge, but Hester's was just so trite. I would love if designers can find a way to represent gay identity without relying on Rainbow Brite as inspiration. I thought some of t-shirts were far more successful, and I'm not a statement t-shirt fan.
  19. I think I would have liked to see the designers interpret one of the other designer's "classic" rooms. Hildi could turn one of Frank's chicken motifs into inspiration for a butcher shop or watch Laurie attempt to shoot a paintball gun.
  20. I feel like having a reoccurring stylist was an attempt to separate this current incarnation from the past and it's not working out as intended by producers. She doesn't seem to say anything insightful or add a lot to the show. It was a nice idea, but I don't see it being a thing going forward. If there is a next season, Marni will probably be involved in a single episode styling challenge where she's a judge, and I'm fine with that. They may also make her a permanent judge, and I'm not so fine with that. Sebastian, the talented and handsome man that designs his own speedos, was robbed of course.
  21. It's great to find people who dislike Sam as much as I do. I thought I was the only one
  22. I like Hildi more than most, but it's like she's on every other episode, at least. The producers found some focus group that enthusiastically wanted "more drama" and figured they should just put Hildi in as much as possible. Her room was okay. Clouds painted on the ceiling are almost cliche at this point, but it's one of the better attempts. The blue chairs probably look better in real life, but I can't say I'm a fan in that space. I'd have to see the tissue paper upclose to get a real sense of it. Overall, one of her safer rooms. The other room was fine.
  23. So was that scene with the staring dragon supposed to be Bran warging into the dragon? I'm still not sure if that was explained.
  24. It’s a Tony thing. I watched the last season of Arrested Development like a week before Veep premiered and he had hair, so I think it’s implanted maybe.
  25. Well, even if you doubted Gendry's relationship to Robert based on appearance, he is starting to look more and more like Stannis with the prematurely receding hairline.
