  1. This. Bethenny surrounds herself with people beneath her in status because she likes feeling better than everyone else. She also strategically inserts herself into everything, ready with a quip, knowing it'll make the show or go viral. I've only recently started following her on IG. If she has any friends, they all refuse to let her film them. The only people you see are other Housewives, her dogs and her boyfriend who clearly doesn't want to be filmed.
  2. If past is prologue, Jacqueline's job will be in jeopardy. They made way too much of this sub-plot for it not to have a bigger impact. I predict a massive lawsuit, Jacqueline is fired, Patrick is named EIC and Jane stages a Donna Martin Graduates-like protest.
  3. I agree with Lu. The other women are miserable. Ramona is terrified of dying alone. Sonja is suffering a mental breakdown, Dorinda is constantly angry and hasn't dealt with her grief. Bethenny's personal life is 24/7 turmoil and essentially has to pay people to spend time with her, including her boyfriend. None of them can stand being alone and need men to prop them up. Lu is arrogant and elitist and smug, but she has something of her own that makes her feel good about herself and the other women have nothing. Lu refuses to let hem pull her down with them.
  4. Christ. Every moment of every scene, Bethenny is talking in sound bytes. She's constantly angling for screen time.
  5. that Jacqueline didn't have a Plan B or suspect Pamela might go on the defensive makes her look hugely incompetent, Which, of course, adds to the mystique of why Jane is fighting so hard to keep her relevant. Girl, your mentor/wise sage/role model fucked up in a major way. Maybe it's a good thing that she move on? ETA: Pinstripe knew Jane's article was up mere seconds after it went live? Pinstripe was only in Princeton NJ??? This show, man.
  6. The storyline about being scooped is probably a call back to the fact that The NY Times came out with heir Weinstein piece just a few days before Ronan's Farrow's. But, yeah, your server got hacked, dumb dumb. what did you think was going to happen? Glad they had that one episode build up to Pinstripe and Jane's relationship going from nauseatingly ideal to him "cheating."
  7. Somebody recently asked Cody if he would ever return to BB and he said no and that the only way he could be asked back is if CBS was flooded with requests to bring him back. Hint hint. He talks like he's such an expert at the game so it must kill him that he imploded on day two. I think he'd love a chance to go back. That is, if he can fit in in to his hectic schedule of watching TV and eating. Jessica does all the hustling, but she's losing a couple thousand IG followers a week. I seriously wonder what those two are going to do when they can't support themselves with Instagram anymore. I'd love to watch him fuck up his game week one again, because he would. He's blinded by his own ego.
  8. Yeah, Sonja appears to have hit her Rock bottom, and it's very sad to watch. She's overtly sexual because she needs the validation from men. There was a woman here in NYC, Lisa something, who was married to a big wig financier. One day, she decided she was going to be a Movie producer, despite not having any experience. She had an office on Madison Ave and got investors to give her money so she could invest in some movies. One of them was 27 Hours, which meant she got to go to the Golden Globes and Oscars and Cannes one year. She was some social climbing rich lady with a reputation for being insufferable. She was sued for sexual harassment by a former employee at one point. A friend worked for her production company. It was crystal clear from the copious amount of time he had on his hands during the work day that the company wasn't long for this world. The general impression was that it was created to give this woman something to use to rub elbows with the rich and famous. The company lasted maybe 3 years. That's who I think of when I see Sonja. I don't think Sonja intentionally tried to scam anyone, I think she wanted to be part if a certain circle, promised money she didn't have thinking she could get it, and then didn't get it. As for her "saddle bags" I'd kill for her body.
  9. I might have an explanation for this. I'm currently studying developmental trauma for a job. One of the effects of childhood abuse or neglect is an inability to self-regulate emotions. Survivors of this kind of trauma can go from 0 to 60 due to damage done to the brain. I can go into more detail if someone wants, but the TL;DR version is the front of our brains - which assists in regulating emotions - shuts down when we're triggered. We see certain people and exchanges as threating because we're unable to assess the situation properly. Bethenny definitely experienced extreme childhood neglect. Little by little, I think Skinny Girl is becoming less associated with Bethanny and more about what the logo represents, that being the fashionable City gal about town with her cinched waist and high pony-tail. That's why the products sell, but Bethenny doesn't. The charity work us to rehab her image.
  10. Which is why I seriously doubt she has anything to do with the business side of Skinny Girl. I think her one and only responsibility is promotion of the products. The people she hires are there to make her look more important than she is. Her little breakdown after court a few episodes ago was nothing but drama. She tries to make it sound like she's Joan Crawford heading into a board meeting with Pepsico.
  11. Watching Sonja unravel is not good TV. That cameras kept rolling while she became more and more unhinged truly is despicable and proves that Andy Cohen is an evil motherfucker. Sonja is beyond sad at this point. Whether the cabaret show is good or not isn't the point. I bet Lu is starkly aware that it's a joke and people are hate-attending or showing up to have something to gossip about over Skinny Girl Margaritas. I'm not seeing the whole "it's gone to her head" stuff. She's always been smug. Only now (as someone else briliantly pointed out) all the other women's lives are on the downturn, and that includes Bethenny. They hate seeing each other happy. They thrive when one of them is hovering above Rock bottom. but now they're ALL hovering and Lu is thriving-ish. Basically, they're all miserable and Lu actually has something that makes her happy and they hate her for it. Lu dismissing Bethenny like she was swatting away a fly was gold. B. Is so used to having those one on one convos where she throws right hook insults and left hook accusations in rapid succession until her opponent is clinging to the ropes before slumping to the ground. When Lu didn't take B's bait and engage her, Bethenny just kept trying until she realized she was embarrassing herself and left.
  12. Some of the SG clothes are cute, but Today she had a few women model her pants. Three were conventionally slender so everything flattered them. The one plus-sized woman was squeezed into a pair of unflattering gray high-waisted pants that tied at the waist. Of course she put the heavy woman in pants designed like a potato sack. Her disdain for women who aren't built like her is palpable.
  13. Gotta love how B. always has to arrive at these things last. God forbid she show up somewhere and there's no fan fare.
  14. The NDA's are only a small part of the equation. Just their association with the story could make them unhireable. Not only are they considered litigious (rightfully or not) but others might not want to deal with the inevitable drama/vindictiveness/divisiveness caused by the photographer. Jaqueline is not an authority in this situation. Depicting her as one is inaccurate at Best, irresponsible at worst. I also wasn't a fan of them pressuring the models to take part in the story. That's completely reckless of the show to portray. Jaqueline and Jane seemed completely oblivious to the damage they could have been inflicting on these women who had already be traumatized once. They should have at least mentioned that if a model didn't want to participate, that boundary should be respected.
  15. So far we've heard the photographer forced a model to pose in freezing water and was so mean to another one she fell or twisted herself into a painful position or something? Am I crazy or have those been the only two scenarios presented to demonstrate how abusive this photographer is? This dumb sub-plot has been going on for so long I forget. So far, they've made this photographer sound mean and that's it. Miranda Priestly was mean, too. Some might have even called her abusive. God, I really hope this blows up in Jane's face.
  16. As of the shoot, it didn't appear the NDA's had been waived. Sure, they probably would be, but Jacqueline has a habit of assuring people everything will work out when she has nothing to back that up. The only person I want telling me I have nothing to worry about in a situation like that is a lawyer, not the EIC if a woman's magazine. Not to mention, the models are justified in worrying about their careers. Will Jacqueline provide them with jobs? Look at Eliza Dushku. Yeah, she got nine million dollars, but Michael Weatherly still has a job and likely will for years to come and will make even more money. The same can't be said for Dushku. She may have been justified, but now she's seen as litigious. She's a liability, one just as big if not bigger than Weatherly.
  17. Once again, Jaqueline comes to the rescue. Nice of her to assure these women that they'll be okay. She can go home to her penthouse and rich husband. Will she pay for all their legal fees? And FUCK is Jane annoying. Mind your own business, Jane!!!!
  18. They're making it out like Pinstripe is going off to war. Yeah, it's not a weekend trip, but since Jane appears to be able to road trip at the drop of a hat, could she not, like, maybe go see him every couple of weeks? I do think there will be some kind of escandalo while Pinstripe is on his book tour, but I hope it's not with Alex. Christ, can they please just get the abusive photographer storyline going so it can end? They've been in a holding pattern for 3 episodes. Someone needs to teach the writers to show, not tell. Don't tell me how awful and abusive she is for three weeks and expect me to care. They could easily be sent an anonymous clip of the photographer on set so viewers can witness for themselves how awful the photographer is.
  19. Because it felt predatory and because Kat lacked empathy for what Tia was going through. In fact, Kat lacks empathy in general. It's like Kat understands the oppression of marginalized communities, but in an abstract way, not first hand. She's queer and black, but she hasn't had the experiences other queer and/or black women have had because she's existed in privileged environments - wealthy parents, NYU, Scarlet, etc. I wish the show would address this more.
  20. I was really hoping Richard's aversion to celebrating is birthday was because it would highlight that he's 15 years older than his girlfriend. I want more Patrick. He adds some much needed tension to a work environment that seems more like a college dorm than a job.
  21. Richard writing an email to his friend to tell him he's "smitten" with the 22 year old he just met feels so...Richard. Though I am glad he didn't swoop in and save the day and buy Sutton the sewing machine. Girl is a hustler. She'll find a way. So, like, Jane just decided on her first day it would be wise to hang in the fashion closet and try on clothes and then break for lunch? Seriously? Good to see Jacqueline has always been perfect.
  22. I question the charity's validity & credibility. Who the hell thinks it's a good idea to use RHONY to promote a children's sex abuse-related charity? Better question...does anyone remember the name of the charity? Was there much if any signage? Bravo couldn't have cared less they were embarrassing that young woman and her cause.
  23. Wait, wat????? Which one? I'll bet it's the one about the guy in the Hamptons that Carrie saw naked
