  1. No one has ever really been able to untangle their finances, including those associated with the show. Before the show, Kody worked as did Janelle. I believe Meri also worked at least part time and there are rumors that Christine did though that wasn’t mentioned on the show really. They struggled financially because they had so many kids plus four adults to support (five when Robyn came along - Robyn has never worked as far as we know). There was speculation that some of the wives had some sort of assistance at various points in time and I believe we know that none of the kids had health insurance when they were minors (hopefully as adults they do). While the show paid them something, I don’t think it was the big financial windfall that some think it is. They live an expensive lifestyle as well. Kody and Robyn have always had a large and expensive house. When they lived in LV, each of the wives had a nice, newly built house. I suspect they made the minimum down payment and had a large mortgage. Those houses sat empty for about a year before any of them sold, when the family moved to Flagstaff. I think their finances are really a house of cards, with some sketchy borrowing practices and a couple of bankruptcies among the adults.
  2. Does it count as a bath if you are dirtier coming out than you were going in?
  3. That must feel like such a weight off their shoulders!
  4. I don’t think it’s a problem that they both like to go out drinking, though I think it becomes a problem if you start having kids and the partying is more important than they are, or if one member of the couple changes their view on partying and the other does not. Right now they are compatible in this regard and while going out drinking is not my idea of a good time, it’s fine that it’s theirs. It could be like that forever or it could change.
  5. I don’t need to see them again either but I was wondering if MAFS was going to televise their eventual wedding. Honestly, Madison has a good job in an industry that likely would frown on her involvement in this type of reality tv. She should just walk away now and go on and live her life.
  6. I don't think that materials shortages ever really recovered from the COVID pandemic. Here it's supplies but the worker situation is also much worse in the past three months and it was tight to start with. And always the headaches of permitting, particularly for a new build. Many people here opt for a "renovation" instead of a new build as the permitting is easier and you only need to retain a small portion (like a single wall) of the existing structure to qualify as a "renovation."
  7. They were never a good match. Michelle faking an interest in the gym isn’t going to change that.
  8. Where I live, it can take a year or more. Permitting takes forever and there is a shortage of both labor and supplies. Six months is actually pretty speedy.
  9. I believe the show returns on 04/20. Anyone else find humor in this also being Easter Sunday? This is unclear to me. If one wants to build on a piece of land and only has 1/3 ownership, will any lender issue a building loan? I know that all three of them would have to agree to sell the land if they wanted to do so, but don't all three of them have to agree to build on it to get a loan for any sort of building? In fact, given that all three (counting K and R as a single entity) of them co-own the land, I'd think it's pretty much worthless for anything but sale, since I don't think they could agree on anything else.
  10. I don't remember from the series, but wasn't she Ukranian or Russian? Eastern European orphanages are sort of notorious for altering documents so I think at some point there were documents but they were suspicious? Mental health wards in many acute care hospitals are co-ed units (not by room but you could have male and female patients on the same ward).
  11. Madison didn't say that she "didn't want a non-white guy." She said she had never dated a non-white guy before and PC said he would not match a white person with someone who had never dated a non-white person before.
  12. I don't have teeth aligners (I could use them) but I do have a mouth guard and I have a hard time wearing it. It makes me gag. It only works if I manage to fall asleep right after I put it in. I don't think that Allen needs whatever it is that Sono Bello does but I also don't believe that it really "works" so I guess it's irrelevant.
  13. I dunno. If he is putting a roof over my head, driving me around in a nice car, cooking me a delicious meal and taking care of our cute dog, he can wear whatever underwear he wants!
  14. Whatever. I don’t see Madison as being “the sky.” She’s a pretty girl with a good job and something of a catch but she’s not out of Allen’s league. I don’t think they were compatible but not because she is any way more desirable than he is. David is happy, sure. Good for him. But nothing else about him has changed. His housing is still provided for him and probably many of his other expenses (like utilities) and he’s still a party boy player. I guess he did purchase the “investment property” in Iowa and as long as he has a renter that covers those expenses I suppose he has a few more financial assets. There is nothing at all wrong with that, but no reason for Michelle (or anyone else) to find him any more attractive than who he was during the show.
  15. I don’t agree. I don’t think there is a “new” David to see. He went from living in his parents’ house to living in his girlfriend’s house. That’s the only difference. I don’t think that Michelle feels like she is missing out on anything. Allen didn’t need to be remade. He was happy with himself the way he was. He made cosmetic changes to try to make Madison happy not knowing that she had already caught feelings for someone else’s husband. I think Allen is a catch. He is well employed, a nice guy, seems to have a generous and outgoing personality and he can cook. I’d take him any day (and when I was in my 20’s/30’s, I was as much a “catch” as Madison is now).
  16. It is a business they were supposedly starting together but there was just the one mention of it. I don't know if it ever got off the ground or not. There was no mention of the supposed feud; at the end of the episode, they seemed to still be on the same good terms that they have been. No and I wondered about that. I am surprised Emem didn't make it happen asap when she met Brandon. I thought the show took care of it as well but I'm guessing they have to divorce fairly soon after filming ends (i.e. the show isn't going to pay for a divorce like a year after the couple is done with the show). For whatever reason, I suppose Brandon and Emem didn't do whatever the show's process would be for a divorce? Ikechi sounds and acts like he has so much healing to do from his traumatic "marriage" to Emem but I don't see why. Anyway...
  17. I think they are both done with dating and ready be married. I think they like each other enough and felt like they had enough of what they wanted to try to make a go of it. And honestly? There are worse reasons to get (stay) married...
  18. She has to finalize the divorce from her first huzzzbinnnn…
  19. Why does Ikechi keep asking people for divorce advice. He was legally married for about a minute and he never liked his wife. He's making It sound like he needs deep emotional support, and he probably does, but it's not because he's heartbroken about his failed marriage. Maybe that was just to give him something to do on camera? Also - Juancho's Ponchos? First - horrible idea. Second, the punctuation was incorrect in the logo. Also that commitment ceremony was just... weird. Emem put on a wedding dress but it looks like she didn't do anything with her hair or anything particularly interesting with her makeup. No flowers; no decoration... just not much going on there. Also I don't remember her having such poor posture; maybe I just didn't notice it before but her shoulders were all slumped over when she walked in the room and was standing with PC and Brandon.
  20. I dislike stereotypes so ... Huh. Injury maybe? Firefighter was the job I was thinking of; when she (we) met him for the first date, that's what she said he did. Did I imagine it or did he also say he has his real estate license? I do hope he has another paying gig besides Emem's huzzbin too!
  21. I didn't like his outfit but I don't think it reveals anything about his sexual orientation.
  22. That's not what he said. Allen said that he had a first date with a woman to whom he was introduced by a matchmaker. She called and said "I'm ready for a second date" the day before he was scheduled to be married. I don't think he had heard from her between the first date and the casting process. So there was some time that passed between their first date and MAFS. She's cute! Good for him. If he is happy then I'm happy for him.
  23. He is employed. I know he is probably paying child support but if he doesn't have to pay for a place to live, he can probably afford a few drinks. I don't get lazy at all. I think she actually works pretty hard. She seems to keep up her living space. She doesn't like to go out drinking as much as David does but she does like getting dressed up and going to dinner. Not all people who dislike working out are lazy. Who? Juan?
