  1. I've never been a wild, partier type person. I love a mild buzz, but anything beyond that is not fun to me. Can someone explain the appeal of being so drunk you can't find your room and/or have to be helped to your room and not able to remember what happened the next day? Also, if I'm not mistaken, as a result of this case, weren't cruise ships required to put stricter rules in place about when to cut passengers off?
  2. Exactly, applescrisp. By the time I'd sat through two "dungeon" episodes and saw the preview for the one you mentioned, I couldn't take any more.
  3. Couldn't sleep last night and stumbled across a mini-marathon of House of Horrors. Sweet baby Jesus, that show is just too much. I sincerely do not want to know all the gory details of young women being raped and tortured in basement dungeons. I really worry that there's budding psychopaths who might watch this show for the fun of it and to get pro tips (shudder).
  4. I really loved the cop who investigated this murder. He was so compassionate and dedicated. If he hadn't done the tedious work of testing all the guns that had been confiscated, they would never have had enough evidence to convict.
  5. Wow, just watched the latest Deadline Crime with Tamron Hall about the "assisted suicide" guy. That was messed up! There are some damn creepy people of the internet. Felt so bad for the family of the girl who committed suicide.
  6. I'm glad they're keeping Brad and Giuliana. I don't really have an opinion about Melissa. Couldn't stand Joan or Kelly, though, so I have some hope that maybe they'll actually do a fashion-centered show now and not just setups for Joan's lame jokes.
  7. Yeah, I liked that the victim said the prosecutor should be tried for attempted murder.
  8. So glad the prosecutor in this case (whole family slaughtered in Texas) has been disbarred . He should be in jail, but at least there were some consequences. Maybe it will make other prosecutors think before they railroad someone to death row.
  9. AltLivia, I remember that Disappeared episode about the family scouting for land. It was very haunting. I had no idea they found the bodies. Does anyone remember the name of the family?
  10. Was there a lot of blood in the garage? I don't remember that. I did always wonder about the blood in the kitchen. Wasn't it a very small amount? I would think if you hit someone hard enough to break the skin and splatter blood, there would be blood elsewhere in the kitchen. I assume they used Luminol (sp?). I feel pretty sure they would have reported it if the kitchen had lit up like a Christmas tree.
  11. Hmm, very interesting. Thanks for the sleuthing, editorgrrl.
  12. So was Angel of Decay originally made for the UK? Because that's the only way I can see anyone not getting that this is about Ted Bundy right off the bat.
  13. I honestly thought they were going to say the daughter was adopted; she appeared to fall that far from the tree. But maybe she takes after dad.
  14. I started to watch it for my "falling asleep show," but realized it wouldn't work for that because it's an actual movie. I thought it was going to be a documentary-type format. I recorded it. Not sure if I'll get around to watching it.
  15. Oh, that was definitely a most memorable. What a bag o' nuts that woman is. I mean, really? You really think people are going to buy the BS you're peddling? Especially when you texted all your friends and talked about how your boy toy made your heart flutter? And her family was just as deluded.
  16. Thanks for the update, Stampiron. I hope he gets a decent lawyer for his retrial. I only read the first article, but that was really poorly written. "A judge here Friday ordered..."
  17. I caught this one before, and what really stood out for me was how sad Justine looked in her wedding pictures. It must have been so hard on her family and friends to have to stand by and watch this slow-motion disintegration.
  18. Thanks, editorgrrrl. I was actually looking for kind of an off-topic area in ID or for specific shows like Dateline, but couldn't find anything. ETA: Oh, I see you linked to a book thread. I didn't realize there was such a thing here. I need to get around the board more. Thanks again!
  19. I hope this is okay to post here because I'm not sure where else to post it. But I'm in the mood to read some true crime this summer while traveling. Any suggestions? I used to like Ann Rule, but I haven't even finished the last book I got of hers. Do y'all have any favorite true crime authors or books about specific cases that were particularly interesting?
  20. I knew I had seen this story before, but it was definitely a new take because they hadn't found the body on the one I saw. I was thinking it was Disappeared that did the story though. I'm sure the kids would have much rather had their mother than that house with the huge mortgage that she had to resort to prostitution to pay for. That was just so odd to me. I mean, if something ever happened to my marriage or husband and I had to sell our house, the house my kids have grown up in, it would be heart-wrenching, but I wouldn't resort to a life of crime to keep it. (I didn't say prostitution because that ship has sailed - lol)
  21. Walnutqueen, so funny you should say that. I listened to it while I was trying to take a nap and glanced at it a few times and made the same assessment about the crazy eyes - lol
  22. Anyone watching The Killing Hour? They had one a couple weeks ago about a former employee of the Duchess of York (Fergie) that was pretty interesting. The one this week was about a serial killer. OMG, it was so morbid, it would have been comical if it wasn't actually true.
  23. I was wondering about the home alarm going off and that the mom had told the security company the password and that everything was fine. Was that during the crime? I felt so bad for her, having your daughter-in-law do something like this. I wonder if she had a hinky feeling when the DIL called so late to stop by.
  24. I'm watching a 2013 episode called "Day of Reckoning" on ID. It's about a mom, Bernadette, who is terrorized for years by her husband, who ultimately confides in her that he killed a prostitute. This story just makes me so mad for the kids. I am totally judgmental in these situations where moms put their kids through hell because they're afraiiiiid (said in whiny voice). I know I should have more compassion. I know there's battered woman syndrome. But somehow when it involves kids, I just can't. ETA: It was her young daughter that ultimately spilled the beans, not the mom. One wonders how much more the mom would have put up with if her daughter hadn't done that.
  25. Amarsir, loved the link. Thanks for the laugh.
