  1. My child has been doomed from the start to receive The Look, because not only did my husband and I become very well acquainted with said look from our parents, but I was an elementary school teacher for five years too, so I have perfected it. The lollipop in the car made me want to knock some sense into Deaven. Holy shit, choking hazard!!
  2. As a sped teacher and the mom of two young men in college: bolded part was SPOT ON. And as someone was had clear cut rules (I was still flexible but I was in charge, thanks) I have no tolerance for bratty kids, either. My husband and I have a toddler who turned 4 about a month ago (though she insists she is “4 and a quarter!!” - haha), and we both watched all of those scenes in horror. Standing and walking on the counter? Oh, HELL no. And Deaven absolutely seems to be one of those parents (and honestly? I use that term loosely here) who says things like, “Oh, please don’t do that, sweetie! Tee hee!” Which, again...HELL no. Our 4yo is a firecracker but is generally very well behaved, and while a lot of that is her doing, a lot of it is that my husband and I have worked at it. Deaven has so obviously dropped the ball it’s not even funny, and the fact that she has another kid on the way is irresponsible in the extreme. Ugh.
  3. I’m not so sure he does, since he snarked about the u-turn on the mat while Phil was trying to check him and Nicole in as the last team. Editing is always tricky but from what we were shown, Victor just kind of threw that in there; at face value, it seemed like he was kind of being a shit stirrer there. Maybe it was justified, maybe it wasn’t, but I don’t think he always avoids the drama. I could not make heads nor tails of the u-turn argument, and I absolutely didn’t care enough to figure it out. I don’t want the BB vibe infecting TAR, but here we are, I guess. Agree with others that this seems very early for yet another non-elimination leg, and I hope we’re done with them for this season.
  4. Don’t you mean a lectern?? Sincerely, Raymond Holt
  5. Ah - that’s right. I was so nervous throughout that whole plot line that I think I lost track of the timeline. I think I started tearing up when the ICE agents saw the Employee of the Month photo, because that sure seemed to be the beginning of the end. And I agree completely that Lauren Ash was amazing as Dina felt more and more helpless, and it felt so alarmingly real. Agree totally about the walls, because...NOPE.
  6. I think they were trying to sneak Mateo out with a large group of customers so that his ID couldn’t be checked, right? Because even if he got into a customer check line, they would’ve grabbed him as soon as they saw his name on his ID. I think? thank you for the info about the logistics of it. I agree with you 100% that people often don’t know their rights and/or are too scared to assert them in a sweep like this. And orgs like ICE know that and take advantage.
  7. In the interest of keeping it vaguely civil, I will only say that to me, regardless of your feelings on immigration, etc. it seems inhumane to put nonviolent criminals in zip ties. I understand that that’s likely a matter of logistics and resources, but Jesus. What a horrible visual that is.
  8. It’s also her weirdly smug (but somehow not too smirky) facial expressions that crack me up when she’s saying things like this. I’m glad I don’t know a Justine-type in real life, because she would bug the shit out of me in about 5 minutes, but they use her in perfectly small doses, and she’s pretty hilarious.
  9. Granted, I only know Rachel from her times on TAR (as I don’t think it is possible for me to give less of a shit about BB), but the impression I get of her is that she does not have a sincere bone in her body. In real life, I’m sure she does, but on TAR, it’s all about being on camera. I find her completely insufferable, and if I were around her in situations like this, I would absolutely think everything she says/does is completely staged.
  10. Well, I’ve noticed that pretty much every time she’s near one of the guys, they always say how nice she looks. Again, not that that’s a problem in general, but it starts to feel like the show feels obligated to say something.
  11. Oh, trust me - I agree completely on that front! My issue is definitely not that she isn’t gorgeous (bc she absolutely is and the show is full of beautiful people of all types) but just that the show bends over backwards to kiss her ass at least once a scene and I find it exhausting.
  12. The amount of time this show spends telling us how awesome! beautiful! smart! fun! Rebecca is has always taken me out of it completely. I just do not get it.
  13. My very cynical thought in terms of why it went on so long is that they set it up to be Gina’s Emmy submission.
  14. I am forever White Josh on this one.
  15. FERPA would be surprised too.
  16. That’s exactly what my husband said as soon as it was mentioned! Awesome 🙂
  17. I took that the total opposite way - I think it was shade at Dre since he thinks he’s the expert and yet doesn’t know who DeRay is. Like, hey dummy, everyone else has heard of him so why do you have to go hide in the bathroom and give it a Goog to find out who he is?
  18. I love that that was even a bridge too far for Amy! Her look of disgust was great.
  19. The visual aid of Lucy’s first virginal top made me do a double-take, because I thought it was Alicia Vikander for a second. Resemblance lost in other photos, though, so I might be a crackpot.
  20. I totally agree. I wonder if she does enable him a lot so she doesn’t rock the boat.
  21. Eh, I’m not sure that Mother is blameless here. I think she’s enabled a lot of his crappy behavior. They probably all need to separate from each other for the good of everyone.
  22. I am a coffee drinker, and you’re exactly right re: French press. That’s how I make cold brew, and it’s very easy (though the cleanup is wonky but it always is with presses). I was thinking the same thing during the Bruw pitch. And I agree completely about the seat. I loved our Ergo because of the hands-free aspect, and our now 3yo was (and still is) a wiggler. I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t have worked for us because of that and my tendency to be a worrier. :)
  23. Seems to be another case of some straight up TLC Fraudin’™️.
  24. Parking at our local mall for Kalani? Only for mothers who are both pregnant AND schlepping an infant!!
