I think those concerns are unfounded, IMO they did a pretty good job of establishing Olicity as a very distinct relationship in the finale. OliRel (?) didn't interact at all in the finale which IMO is a shame b/c they should have some sort of relationship. I just don't see Laurel as some big threat to Olicity at this point at all.

Just chiming on on the Sara/CL love. Honestly if they spun-off a BoP show with her at the helm I reckon I'd be more inclined to watch it than Arrow. It's great to see Oliver and SA salmon laddering it up but watching Sara/CL fight crime and Sally is even more relatable to me and I find the character more accessible. There's such a soft-spoken sweetness to Caity's portrayal even whilst she's surrounded by hard edges. I'm fascinated by the character and invested in a way I'm just not with Oliver.

Haha! Well I sure hope it is, you're right that between Moira, Sara, Felicity and as we'll soon no doubt see, Thea, that's a lot of strength. I hope it is a new dawn for Laurel, I think if KC got her way, Laurel would stop being kidnapped and start fending for herself and that would bode very well for her relationship with Ollie. In the last episode her being kidnapped was almost like "Laurel's a hostage? Must be Wednesday." So I hope they move away from that and I'm interested to see where their ship goes if they do.

Does the actor do parkour?

A place to talk about Sally the Salmon Ladder. Manu and Caity's parkour tricks and all the incredible things SA does without a stunt double. I wanted to see if anyone wanted to talk fitness. It seems that MB and CL are old hats at this martial arts, parkour stuff and SA has truly impressed me with the dedication he has to the physicality of Arrow. I saw a free-running gym video of his and man-o-man. Inspiring! Even more inspiring is CL's breakdancing and parkour videos. Haven't found anything from MB yet though.

I really enjoy the blue lighting theme they've got going for the lair. I guess blue represents calm and serenity so it makes it doubly terrifying when someone like Slade invades their space. It's like the Winter Soldier catching Captain America's shield. I also like how the club just above it seems to have a red theme and every time they discuss things up there it seems to be right before something really dangerous is going to happen. Almost like the red is a flashing warning sign. ETA I can get down with the Hades allegory as well.

Every time I see that red hoodie I think Impulse from Smallville and then I get disappointed that it's not him. Clearly my dislike of Roy is not his fault.

I don't know, maybe their chemistry will change as the rewrite Laurel, it's hard to have chemistry with a Damsel in Distress. Everyone else Ollie has had chem with has been pretty self-sufficient. Maybe if the writers actually write Laurel like a more upbeat, strong, independent (like her character should have had all along) than a fatalistic, heartbroken DiD then SA and KC's chemistry will change. KC thrives on playing strong characters, as Ella Simms she had chemistry with EVERYONE! Guy, girl, Amanda Woodward whomever, she was lighting it up. She even had chem with the most boring character on the show and that was no small feat. I just think they need to write her as a superhero, whether it be Black Canary or Manhunter I don't care but I think that's where the chemistry falters. The new Oliver Queen doesn't seem the type to go for DiDs and that throws their whole vibe off from the word go.

Are Nyssa and Sara a thing? I would watch Sara with anybody.

Ha! It's true, he's so brave in every other aspect of his life but when it comes to feelings, good luck. But that's fair I should think, everyone he loves keeps dying, there's a guy on earth who's sole mission is to kill everyone Oliver loves and Felicity came pretty close so it stands to reason he's not ready to admit it to her yet. (Shipper hopes). I still would have just out and out killed Slade but Oliver's clearly a better person than me. ETA Yes!! Thank you M3! The finale came on while I was in the gym, very motivational.

I don't see their chemistry either and it's frustrating when an EP has a "romantic arc" come hell or highwater irrespective of what's showing on the screen.

Well mileage varies because I don't see the problems you do with her skills. I can see why she'd be disliked as a character (mind you not with such mind-numbing rage) but I don't see it as down to her acting choices at all.I also don't see that she's done anything awful to have face, she's gorgeous to me a little too thin nowadays but fucking gorgeous nontheless. I think you may be right GirlWednesday I may have to try abstaining from the net next season. ETA Just saw the Flash preview it looks good and Iris looks like a sweetheart, also love Jesse L Martin and the Arrow cameo. Hope they'll keep the crossover angle, that's my favourite bit about spinoffs.

I think KC is a wonderful actor, if you need proof go watch Melrose Place (one of my favourite characters of all time) There's not a lot she can do with inconsistencies and bullshit, she's in the same position as Kristin Kreuk was, she has all my sympathy and none of my ire. Do I think she could make a good Black Canary? Of course, she's wonderful but they have to write for her. If they gave her material half as good as EBR at least she'd have a fighting chance. I feel horrible for actors in this situation especially nowadays with internet, forums etc, it's absolutely brutal. I hope for her sake they give her something more to do, she's an incredibly capable actress and she certainly deserves it IMO.

Yeah, I know. They didn't exactly deserve the renewal (well the actors did). TPTB had ample time to recorrect their course and they stubbornly sailed into a maelstrom. Honestly if it weren't for the recent Jastrid I would say good riddance but I think TPTB played me on this one. They probably just pushed Jastrid for ratings and if that worked they may have surely gone back to their triangle of doom since their Cara love was nearly Lana Lang proportions of cray cray. I should probably try to remind myself of that.

I'll miss you Astrid Finch and my lovely Jastrid. You were the best of us (well, them really)
