I loved Miss Piggy, but I always have loved her and she was the earliest example of being fabulous and fashionable, so I'm all about Triumph. I mean if you're going to have a judge that has absolutely nothing to do with fashion, and I mean absolutely nothing (Snooki and JWoww) then at least have someone funny like Triumph. Lets not try to convince the world that Snooki and JWoww are icons of the fashion world, and should be on stage somehow with Elie Tahari, lets just admit that you are having guest judges that may or may not be part of popular culture. ETA: Miss Piggy would win because she would end the fight with a karate chop!

Phaedra Parks: Undertaker, Esq.
RealityGal replied to radishcake's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
There are two questions I have. 1. How successful was Phaedra with a purely law practice? - Apollo made mention of how Phaedra told him that she had everything together with a law practice and she didn't need his money, and then she started to ask him for a mortgage payment. Apollo doesn't seem like a very good liar, and he was very upset, and it had the ring of truth to it. 2. How clean was Phaedra before Apollo? - I know she defended Bobby Brown, and I know she was on the cover of a magazine as a top attorney. But we've seen her in court with Sheree and she seemed lost. She got paid cash in a parking lot from a guy on a drug charge. Her deposition doesn't read like something someone with legal acumen. I know attorneys have gotten in trouble for laundering money for clients, and I wonder if she hadn't been involved in something like that. If Phaedra was unable to support her lifestyle on a purely law practice because she isn't that great at the practice of law, and/or if she wasn't that clean she may have been fully involved in some scheming. Now, as far as Apollo. I don't care for Apollo, I think he is a giant ass. But, I think he had an absentee father, so I think he truly does love his sons, he just doesn't know what it takes to be a great dad. I do think he loves his sons, and knows that at the very least, like he did, that they need their mother, or they need at least one parent. He may not know the finer points of being a great dad, or even some of the big points of being a great dad, but I think he knows enough to know that they need at least one parent, and it shouldn't be him. -
He seems to be gaining weight. I am thinking he is taking a little too well to "Danielle diet"

Kenya Moore: Twirl! Twirl!
RealityGal replied to radishcake's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
A woman can use her words to make the point she wants to make. A girl can not. I don't care if you're making the point with a megaphone or whispering it. The police use megaphones in front of people all the time. I sure hope the idea isn't that you can assault the police because they are close to you with a megaphone. If we allowed violence as an acceptable and reasonable response to someone using words, and gestures the world would be a chaotic place. Speech (including gestures) is provided protection under the law, hitting someone with intent to hurt them is not protected under the law, even when done in self defense or defense of others it is only allowed when there is no opportunity to walk away. This is because we expect adults to use words, but we recognize the need to either lock up or regulate people who can't use words, but resort to violence. And furthermore, the law recognizes the difference is saying "I'm from Detroit" and dragging a woman to the ground. We allow adults to talk and express themselves, but we expect that while adults can feel a certain way and express it, that they can hold themselves back from assaulting each other. -
I think Triumph would be funny!

They certainly aren't doing the town any big favors. Between the giant american asses (and I get the double meaning), the vacant look of Danielle's family, and the absolutely wretched looking barfly lady its a wonder people haven't started a petition.

Kenya Moore: Twirl! Twirl!
RealityGal replied to radishcake's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
Saying you're going to do something is different from doing something. Its why saying "I'm going to kill you" won't get you the same jail time that actually killing someone will get you. So, its not the same, and yes, while both are wrong, one is more wrong, and so it does put Kenya above Porsha. Its the same reason why pretending to throw hands (and I'm not sure if thats just the Phaedra comment) is not as bad as actually beating someone up. What did she keep saying that sounded like she was going to throw hands? I don't at all remember that from the reunion. And thats just it, when you throw hands instead of walking away or using your words, you are a girl. A woman doesn't need to do all of that, because a woman should be mature enough, to where if she is that upset, she walks away. -
And you don't even have to visit! Even when I was going to take a business trip for a few days, the first thing I would do is get online and google the place I was going to! Are we the only country with the internet?

Chelsea, or should I say Yoko, is annoying and selfish to me. She appears to have nothing careerwise going on in the middle of nowhere Illinois, and its not like she was bringing Yamir to some castle. Her parents live in a somewhat run down house in the middle of nowhere and want them to get jobs immediately, probably because they can't support two grown people. Which is fine, but you really expect him to go from being a pop star in Nicaragua to working at the local meat plant? Is that whats going on in her town? She has taken him from a place where he was successful and doing what he loves to the middle of nowhere where he doesn't even speak the language. And for what? So he can work in a meat packing plant? Live in her parent's basement? And her little "open mic" suggestion, what an asshole move. If this is her attempt to manage his career he needs to get back home, because its not gonna happen with the crowd in that town. He is getting exactly what he deserves if Myla Vox replaces him. He is 28 years old, and was stupid enough to leave a successful career for a girl who doesn't appear to wash her hair. Exactly! My gaydar pinged on Danny when I saw his "best friends" and when I see how he constantly surrounds himself with people instead of being alone with Amy. Maybe he figures his dad will get so worked up over a black fiance, that he will be more accepting of Danny being gay.I don't even think Cassia is pretty. She has funky teeth and her area around her eyes looks old. She doesn't look 23 IMO. Trade show model is the best she could hope for. I've seen way prettier Brazilian women. Ahhh, but look close and you will see that it is a "PINK panther" tee shirt. If Victoria's Secret was in the mood they would have a case for trademark violation.

The ganging up on she was referring to looks a lot to me like 3 people co-signing someone getting beaten up because she annoyed someone else. It looked like three people saying that when you annoy a moron you deserve to get beaten up, and thats okay, and the person that needs support is the moron. they are under no obligation to like her, I think they all owe her the success of the show because Kandi, Cynthia, Nene, Phaedra and Porsha on their own are boring. All of these shows need a bad guy or a lightening rod. The rest of the cast don't want to have that position, Kenya allows them the freedom to be the "good guys" and the ability to have the show get great ratings without them getting their hands dirty. Kandi's little comment about what happens when you mess with "girls from the A" is ridiculous, and Kandi is starting to sound ghetto at heart. When, as a grown ass woman, you think its okay to beat up another grown ass woman who is talking to you, instead of walking away, you're wrong. And three other people, to me, seemed to cosign that behavior by giving sympathy to Porsha. Porsha chose to stay, she and her 59 IQ could have walked away at any time, she wasn't locked in a death match cage with Kenya. Showing sympathy for behavior that over the top is going to feel like a slap in the face to the person who got assaulted, and I can understand that.- 259 replies

S07.E01: Bye Bye & Bon Voyage
RealityGal replied to cooksdelight's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
I don't think so, because I think, as bad as Apollo is, as shitty a husband as he is, he knows that if he ratted out Phaedra his children would be basically left parent-less, so he has been holding off telling anyone about the exact nature of Phaedra's involvement in his "business." But Phaedra keeps pulling the high and mighty card knowing that he won't rat her out. Saying that a person should be allowed to drag you to the ground because you said some things to them that they didn't like doesn't sound reasonable to me. And that seems like what all the other women were trying to say about Porsha. Without Kenya, Porsha is boring. Even with Kenya, Porsha is boring and stupid. Porsha should be thanking Kenya for making her relevant, because without Kenya, Porsha is just some dummy who thought the underground railroad was a locomotive. Exactly.- 259 replies

I could not even believe she was considering investing a dime in any Peter Thomas venture. This is like the people who respond to the email from a Nigerian prince. If she invests in his club/bar/whatever, she deserves to lose her money. I still think Phaedra should have been at the sentencing. And if she wasn't there she should have just been honest, she didn't want to be there. Not some crap about how she was supporting him quietly. Whatever. And then whining about people giving her the side eye - her own actions have made people give her the side eye. She had a chance in the deposition to be clear, concise, honest, and forthright. Instead she chose to lie, obfuscate and act like an ass. For her to behave that way and then make all sorts of noise about being a Christian is silly to me. And for her mother to be willfully ignorant as to why Phaedra and Apollo married was also ridiculous. That entire "well me being there wouldn't have changed anything" was right from the Phaedra playbook of nonsensical things. If you allegedly cared about your husband, its not about you showing up and changing the sentence, anymore than it is for anyone who shows up and sits in a courtroom to listen to sentencing. Its about being there to show your support for someone you claim to care about. -

Not for one nanosecond do I believe that Apollo was alone in his crimes. I believe Phaedra was part and parcel of his criminal activity, and I surely hope the Federal Prosecutor in GA goes after her. Phaedra is a consummate liar and attempts to dodge any and all blame for things she has done. Apollo is a moron, but not a very good liar. When he starts saying things like "I helped her business" or "I helped her out" and making it seem like he is responsible for her keeping the house it sounds a lot like he is protecting her. So, Phaedra can lose me with all of her "Apollo did this all by himself" line of business, because I don't believe it. One read through of her deposition tells me as much as I need to know. My spidey senses tell me that he may threaten to come clean to the government about Phaedra's role in his crimes if she doesn't provide for him. Its the only way where he would have a pre-nup but still think that she would be under an obligation to provide support. Although, in some states, a pre-nup will be invalid if it leaves the spouse destitute.- 259 replies

I'm not sure if Aaron is originally from North Hollywood. But I felt like the underdog connection he and James had was based on them both growing up poor in one parent households...and not going to cooking school.

I think it'll still be Berg. She will be one of those women visiting a man in jail and putting money on his books and the minute he gets out and ignores her she will be running around behind him whining about how she holds him down, he is her boo, and whatever else she likes to say. In fact, safe to say, even if he was dating Masika (who, by the way, should be way too dark for him) Hazel still assumes that she and Berg are in a relationship. -
Well, now you have me putting on my strategy cap....here are the potential excuses 1. Get her super drunk and then when she wakes up in the morning tell her that the sex was awesome 2. Just lay really close to her and tell her that she must not be able to feel it, but that it happened, and he had a great time 3. Tell her that he spoke to a religious elder, and as it turns out, he can't have sex until he is an American citizen 4. Tell her that he spoke to a religious elder, and Danielle is going to have to convert to Islam before they can have sex 5. Claim that he fell down and sprained his pee pee and the doctor won't allow sex for at least a year

What a catch 22 for Mohammed. Can the financial sponsor be someone other than who he is married to? What obligations is a financial sponsor under? Ugh, a He-Danielle, can you imagine? Oh wait, I can, his name is Brett :) -

Well Chris may have been more used to a Project Runway with multi-day challenges. One day challenges run down even the youngest and the skinniest of designers. He is neither of those at this point, so I think even two challenges in, the production schedule is wearing on him. He probably figured that a one day challenge would be hard, but not as hard as it has been. I think he was certainly put off by Dimiti, and frankly bitch stole your look! but I think he would have taken it better if he had a day or two to figure out how to differentiate his look in the way he wanted to. Thats true, but what Jeoffrey sent down the runway to get aufed in all stars was, IIRC spectacularly bad, and could not be ignored.

are you kidding, what a boon for Mohammed, now he can potentially make an argument that he needs to get a job in another town, city or state to support the "household." She, of course, wants him mowing lawns and some such other nonsense, but it sounds like he has some technical skill, so he may want to try to find a more well paying job out of the area and send money back to her. I'm not sure how stringent the requirements are, but I would think that the government would allow for a new husband to take a job out of the area if he was doing so to financially support his wife and family while she looked for another job.
