  1. Yeah, I think at that time Sara was good for Oliver, they both were looking for something to hold on too, someone to understand them. They had been through so much together and Oliver was separated from her horrifically, twice. Ultimately I think they both knew it wasn't going to work, but they needed that closure. So for me even though we didn't get much their relationship I think it helped them both grow a little more and realize what they truly want.
  2. I'm on that boat as well. I didn't like Lana on Smallville but she never really ruined my enjoyment of the show (It wasn't a good show by any means, it kept me entertained most of the time) But with Laurel my hatred of that character is ruining my enjoyment of the show. Enough where I probably won't be watching next season if it's going to be the season of Laurel becoming a hero. I just can't. I have never stopped watching a show because I hated one character but this I might.
  3. Yeah, I thought I saw few decades too. So it wasn't that far into the future where we couldn't have seen what happened to everyone else. Or that would've been a better show. Caretaker Claudia was watching the clip show videos of her friends and what happened to them.
  4. It's not that I don't think alcoholism is a serious issue and difficult to overcome. It's the fact that on this show it barely mattered. It wasn't shown enough for me to really feel for Laurel and what she was going through. One episode she was drinking heavily but not acting at all drunk, then the next she was completely fine, then when she does appear it drunk it turned out she was drugged by Sara's ex. Then finally they show her actually having a problem where Quentin notices it but then in the next episode she's drinking at a family dinner and no one says anything. She did lose her job, but got it back. So she barely felt the consequences for her actions and now she's fine with no lingering effects, so I can't buy she's scarred internally because they are not showing me that on the show. With Sara and Oliver we've not only seen the hell they've been through we are seeing the effects it has on their souls. They have the physical scars but we also see how much damage was done to them mentally. They still have nightmares about the island and the things they've done. They are not magically all better because they are home. As Slade told Oliver, he hasn't really left the island. It's part of who he is and we see that every episode. Same with League and Sara. We are seeing how the choices they made in the past still affect them now.
  5. I think I too would rather have seen what the future held for the characters instead of a fake clip show. I liked what little we had of Claudia being the caretaker, but I wanted to see what happened to Myka, Pete, Artie and Steve.
  6. I think that's exactly what happened with her casting on this show. She was handed the role because she's a CW staple. So the EP's were kind of stuck with her. Not chem testing with Amell kind of shows that. I'm wondering if her contract says she was specifically cast as Black Canary, Dinah Laurel Lance or just as Laurel Lance. Because then I think they can get away with it if it's the later. If it's never mentioned that she's the Black Canary in writing despite what happens in the comics they can do what they want.
  7. Caity said that most of the time she learned the choreography right before they shot the scene. So it had to be memorized quickly. And as a trained dancer it was easier for her.
  8. She doesn't go by Dinah. That is the only name the BC went by, no one ever called her Laurel.
  9. I wonder if Cassidy ever planned on training to play the Black Canary or if she was just going to to with the writing says I'm so I am. If you look at most action films (not all) the women are usually model thin and we're just supposed to pretend they can kick ass. Then Caity Lotz got hired, and she was like oh shit, I guess I have to actually work at this playing a super hero thing. I better start working out. Because she could've actually been getting herself some training this entire time to prepare for the role she was hired to play. It's not like we see Laurel in skimpy clothing, no one would've noticed she had muscles. She could've been taking martial arts classes, weapons training, archery or whatever else was needed. Caity apparently took archery lessons for that one scene she held a bow at Roy. She was also probably using it to add more skills to her resume.
  10. Laurel knows that Nyssa was the assassin that took Dinah and poisoned her. I don't think she knows that Sara was in a relationship with that assassin. So both of them, Quentin especially should know that Sara wasn't going on a vacation, she was choosing to be a killer. I am giving them the benefit of knowing the definition of assassin though. Maybe they don't. Oliver doesn't know about the word dead. So maybe Starling City schools leave some words out of their dictionary. They could've used a nice scene with Laurel finding out her sister likes women and men. But then again they gave that scene to Quentin when Laurel was nothing but an afterthought to the whole show. It is strange that no one was at all concerned with the amount of scarring Oliver and Sara have. Those are not typical scars, what did Sara say her's were from, swords, spears and grenades? Oliver's were from arrows and bullets. The chatty Doctor even told Laurel that Sara's scars reminded him of soldiers injured at war. Wouldn't that raise some flags for Laurel that her sister went through some awful traumas? But no, she was so happy that her sister was leaving with the very people that were probably the reason she had some of those of scars.
  11. I don't think Barry and Felicity will ever be a thing, despite the EP's selling it as that in the beginning to draw interest to the Flash. (which still makes no sense to me because comic wise, Flash is much more popular and well known than Green Arrow). Barry's got his own love interest in Iris West. Now I don't think they are above keeping their options open since that's pretty much all they do. If Iris turns out to be Laurel 2.0, Felicity will most likely be around to keep the triangle going strong. The EP's on this show are exactly like Oliver with his not wanting to commit to anything. They won't even commit to Laurel being the Black Canary. You'd think they would've come out by now and said that Laurel is on her way to being BC. Only Cassidy is saying that, then we have some announcement for Caity Lotz's status being released at comic con, another strange thing to do since comic con is mostly only used for big announcements. So to me it looks like they are not confident enough in Laurel becoming BC. They want to keep their options open. The same thing is happening for Olicity, they are keeping them around and throwing bones to shippers while still trying to force Laurel into the ring. They know how popular Felicity is so I have no doubt they'll either kiss or get together but be the endgame, that is still up in the air.
  12. I actually think the EP's thought that moment was supposed to be uplifting and epic for Laurel becoming the BC. I don't know why they'd think that after watching a character that earned the hero title through tears, blood and sweat just handing over the title to a character that has not done one thing to earn it would've been a great moment. Do they really think the name holds that much power? Also considering Laurel is not the name of the Black Canary. The BC's name is Dinah (that is the only name she ever went by) and the only Dinah Lance we've met was played by Alex Kingston.
  13. They've had 2 seasons to make Laurel likable and haven't. So I don't really think they can in the future. That last scene between the sisters pretty much took away any respect I could've had for the Laurel character.
  14. Krav Maga is very physical, it's mostly drills and sparring. I like it because it shows you what to do if you are attacked out on the street. You are taught how to disarm someone with a gun or a knife, what to do when someone attacks you from behind or the front. It's a defense martial arts so it's completely different from the rest of them where you have to memorize forms and things. I wanted to learn Kali stick fighting, the place I go to has that too, but right now Krav Maga is enough for me I'm drenched when I get out of that class. lol.
  15. I just started. lol about 2 months. I have belts in Tae Kwon Do and Judo from when I was younger. I wanted to try something that's more realistic defense wise. Krav Maga was the best one I found. One of the exercises we do is stand in the middle of the room with our eyes closed, then our partner is supposed to run at us and put their hands around our throats and we're taught how to take them down quickly.
  16. The gifs are from MTV's Death Valley, she played a rookie police officer that fought zombies, werewolves and vampires. She did all her own stunts. I really love Krav Maga. It's very physical more so the other martial arts I've taken. My class sets up situations that can actually happen in real life and teaches you what you can do to defend yourself, even when you are small like me.
  17. This gif shows quite a glaring difference in the acting. We have Cassidy grinning like a loon(when the scene shouldn't at all be like that) Then we have Lotz who took a more subtle approach. Sara's smile is tight which and she casts her eyes downward which can be taken as Sara's not as happy as she appears.
  18. Marital arts is a great workout, it's fun and you learn how to kick ass. I'm in Krav Maga it's a martial art that teaches you how to defend yourself in real world situations.
  19. Roy asked Sara to kill him. He must've had a moment of clarity and he knew he couldn't control himself from hurting people. That's another thing I don't get, they keep telling us Sara's nothing but a killer, but she had a chance to take the kill shot with Roy twice and she didn't take it. The first time she shot him in the leg then she had plenty of time to do it and didn't.
  20. They never really specified when they started dating, I'm assuming Junior or Senior year of High School unless Sara was going to parties when she was 12 (Laurel and Sara are two years apart) I'm also interested in when Sara and Oliver's affair started. He invited her on a cruise to China so that wasn't a short trip. He must've really liked hanging out with Sara because that trip had it not gone badly would've been at least a month long.
  21. Sara has control of her emotions, we barely ever see her have emotional outbursts like we have with Oliver and Laurel. Even pre-Gambit Sara stayed calm while Laurel was yelling about her fantasy world being Mrs. Oliver Queen. That's is another important trait of the Black Canary her ability to stay calm in high stress situations is what makes her able to think on her feet quickly. Oliver would get too emotionally involved and Canary got him to think clearly. So there is yet another trait of the Black Canary that was given to Sara.
  22. My thing with Warehouse 13 was it wasn't necessary to put them together. It's not like after the Warehouse Myka and Pete would suddenly hate each other. They didn't need to be sleeping together to remain in each other's lives. So it was just really pointless imo. All that shows me is that the writers don't really care what they showed on screen if they want a couple to be endgame they will no matter what. They can have a couple together for 6 seasons and in the final episode say the guy was in love with a girl we never met at the coffee shop the entire time and just show flashbacks to prove that. They don't need to show why or have it make sense. It just is because they say it is. That is why I'll never be confident that Olicity is endgame. I can hope, but I'm not expecting it by what's shown on screen.
  23. I'd kind of like to see Warehouse 13 with Miss D at the helm. Mrs. F was older and so she always had this mother/grandmother like appearance. With Claudia being so young looking, younger than the agents they showed and she's supposed to be so much older than them. It would've been interesting to see the agents work with her.
