I get what you're saying, but no one should be forced either way -- especially those of color. You can make suggestions & offer improvements, but in the end how they wear their hair should be their choice. Forcing Kat (or anyone else) to wear her hair natural would be just as bad as forcing her to wear a wig (although I'm all for Kat's much needed wig intervention as well as getting rid of overdone extensions, etc.).

I think wigs are Kat's choice though. I think she said she even has names for them.

Judy gets overriden A LOT -- to the point that she has basically stopped saying much of anything in the past (don't know how she's been the past couple of seasons since I haven't watched. It is Kelli's team & Kelli makes the decisions.

All the guests (choreographers, country singers, Billy Bob they pulled in off the corner 😂) get asked their opinion on the girls. The question was if anyone besides Travis was specifically asked about Ava's video (as the OP implied more then he had been asked about it). The OP said they used creative license & the assumption that if K asked one, it's likely she asked more (unless asking Travis was all for tv -- and we all know it was).

I think the handling of the video situation is being over-scrutinized/analyzed (but then there's not much else to focus on this season 😊). Kelli knows what she wants & how she is going to handle it. Of course, asking Travis about it was strictly for the tv show (as are many other things). They have to fill up their time with something, and this was one of their attempts (a poor one) to be relevent with Travis. From what we've seen/heard (I haven't seen the episodes), she talks to Ava, Ava presumably deletes the video and, at this point, is still there (right?). She gets cut at some point. The video may play a small part in the overall decision, but I don't think it's the sole (or even main) reason. I don't think Kelli was trying to imply she has a bad character, but is this a one-off bad judgment or is there going to be more of this type of stuff in the future? Instead of character (or "nasty girl" I think was the quote?), she should have talked about maturity levels. Others have mentioned that she seems very immature, and, like it or not, that is a legitimate reason to cut someone when you have the brand to think about. If there are others who are more mature and can do the job, I would go with them over immaturity as well. Let her grow up a little and come back in a year or two. Yes, dragging out the video situation by asking Travis about it was stupid, but it was all for the show.

They may be focusing on Travis because he's the most well known & Myles was willing to go public with his accusations? But was she selected for show group in season 15? I don't remember (but given how badly they were editing her, I'd doubt it). I'm talking about being selected for show group & being cut in the same training camp. Past seasons don't count (although you would think if they were good enough in the past for show group they'd stil be good enough for the team).

No, they don't have show group only members. I do think people see making show group as a safety net. You make show group, you made the team unless you royally eff something up, as in the Holly/Jenna/Erica/Chelsea type situations -- and, yes, I know Holly quit on her own & Jenna stayed, but they were very close to being cut & may have been if Holly hadn't quit & Jenna hadn't straightened up. I don't remember if Erica & Chelsea were even on show group, but I believe their situations would have gotten them cut anyway. Being cut after making show group is rare. Has it ever even happened (not counting anyone who royally effed up)?

I didn't see the episode, so only going by your quote above, but I didn't read it as Kelli assuming she was a nasty girl, but not wanting to jump to that conclusion. A better way to say it: "I'm hoping this shows a temporary lapse of judgment and is not an indicator of her typical behaviour."

She might have given more specifics/answered questions off camera (hope so anyway). It would have been nice if they showed some of that if she did. I like her better as a mentor than Melissa because she was a solid DCC (not all the hype we're fed, but a solid team member) and, most important, much more recent. She knows what's going on today, what it's like to be in camp & on the team today whereas Melissa was years ago (and if they keep Maddie around for years, I'll say the same again -- get someone more current to give advice).

I like how someone supposedly thinks one book about the DCC is going to make them filthy rich. 😁 I mean it would have to be an absolute blockbuster best seller (the likes of Harry Potter -- and that was a whole series) with someone buying the movie rights, etc. I just don't see enough people caring about the DCC for that to happen. ETA: Not sure why it embedded the post I was trying to quote in one of Pompompom's posts. The mysteries of technology. 🤷‍♀️

Hopefully he doesn't have any compromising pictures of her. We all know how that's worked out for DCC's in the past. (Hesitant to even mention this -- don't want to give anyone any ideas!)

Kelli's hashtag #shihtsugardoes has always bothered me. I know it's a play on words & the breed (shih tzu), but the meaning is clear and I never thought it was professional.

Except you don't need drama (especially the manufactured stuff) to create interest. Yes, it's the easy way to create interest, but there are other ways too. Give people a reason to be interested/invested in the girls (back stories (not just the sob stories), what they're doing outside of the filmed training camp nights to get on the team, more about the vets & their experiences during the previous year on the team (and, yes, they're auditioning for their spot, so they qualify as "making the team"), etc.) and people will be interested. Even the after show videos of K & J talking about things this year has been more interesting than some things they've shown in previous seasons (haven't watched this season), because it gives insight as to what they are actually thinking. Most of the girls we know nothing about & the ones we do, it's because of social media & forums like these, not the show. Interesting content is not just drama.

Not arguing with you (and I do think the Victoria/Amanda questions have been thoroughly covered), but isn't this a "spoiler-okay" thread?

Victoria chose not to audition this year (said on sm that she's taking a year off & will audition next year). Reason? All kinds of speculation, nothing definite. Alora Rose & Amanda chose to leave during camp. Again, speculation, but no definite reason. Lisa & Daphne left during camp due to injuries.

She did, but that wouldn't stop TPTB from mentioning it if they really wanted to (maybe Kelli "forgot" about her mother being a DCC again & Madeline didn't mention it this time😂). Really, though, either Madeline asked not to be featured (and they honoured it) or she didn't give them enough (didn't "struggle" or "excel" enough, no sob story, her mom declined an interview, whatever) for them to bother making a story about her -- they had better footage of others.

It depends on why she left (or what excuse they make up for her). Anything that doesn't put her in a good light, they're not going to show (and they shouldn't). So, if she does come back next year, they might not shove her down our throats if they don't want to highlight why she took the break. I'm not holding my breath, though, that they won't create some "she overcome such a horrible situation & beat the odds" come back story for her.

That will disappear, but there are plenty of other photos of the rookies out there. I think it's just stupid to make them keep quiet about being a DCC until after the show finale. If the show finale was around the same time as the first game (as it used to be) -- fine, but making them wait half the season is just asinine. (I know you're agreeing with me.)

No idea what pics you're talking about (so don't know what you mean by "super sexy"), but can they really say a lot given the swimsuit calendars? Yea, I know, those are wholesome "America's Sweethearts" skimpy swimsuit (and let's not forget the favourite "pulling off the bottoms" pose) pics. 😁

Not necessarily if she has nothing to do with the All Stars. If she's only there for judging & the show, she may not know what everyone is doing before they convene the judges at the start of the process -- but I'm sure they're told before prelims (now video auditions) who has retired so they'll know some types they might need to look for for replacements. But since MRS commented on Maddie's retirement post long before then -- she knew.
