  1. Men that buy it might be Cowboys fans, but they're not buying it because they are Cowboys fans -- they're buying it because it's a swimsuit calendar. No idea what the gender breakdown for sales is, but it's definitely made with hetero men in mind/as the target audience.
  2. Hopefully, if you're planning on trying out you start well ahead of the May 2-10 submission dates. You need a headshot, a full body shot, a video, etc. If you wait until close to May 2 to start you run the risk of running out of time even with the 9 day submission period. Everything is uploaded -- no snail mail.
  3. If they said they were going to review all of the submissions May 2-10, that would make sense. But they're not, they're accepting them May 2-10. So, their only watching so many a day doesn't account for the need to have 9 days for submissions.
  4. Yes -- first part is online and then they meet in person for training camp.
  5. They were probably watching them on the jumbo screen above her head. You can get hold of an alumni shirt (i.e., have one made) without being an alumni. Maybe if she's the superfan mentioned above, they gifted her one.
  6. Tryouts (virtual prelims) haven't even started yet (online submissions accepted May 2-10) so there isn't even anything to film yet. What they'll do once training camp starts. Who knows? Kelli said they are looking for someone to pick it up, but no news on that yet. If no one has picked it up by the time camp starts, whether or not they'd spend the dollars to film it themselves in the hopes of still selling it is questionable. I guess it would depend on how confident they are they could sell it & recoup their costs.
  7. Because the NFL's concern wasn't about spreading Covid to/among the fans. Their concern was the players and having to cancel/reschedule games if Covid spread among the players. Some players were excused from being vaccinated because they were still needed (and fans could have revolted if certain players weren't allowed to play) -- much harder to sideline/cut/replace them than a cheerleader. Sadly, cheerleaders are much more replaceable. Some were cut (i.e., the Saints cheerleader) others (maybe those who had already chosen the teams pre-mandate) were just moved to the stands away from the players (and from the looks of the Broncos, possibly cut the next year).
  8. No idea who she is, but I was just enjoying her enjoying the moment. It might be rude blocking other's view, but she's off to the side (yea, I know, could still be blocking some) & I'll excuse her just for the joy she gave me watching her (and I do think I ended up watching her more than the cheerleaders).
  9. The lady in the star dress 😅
  10. Because a huge part of the DCC experience is supposed to be the sisterhood/"forever" friendships. She's missing out on this.
  11. If they *really* wanted her back and were *really* concerned about the possbility of further injury, they could send her to their own docs for further evaluation/assurance. But would they bother with that expense? The truth is she's not that valuable to the organization -- just one part-time cheerleader with many lined up to take her place. I see it more as a convenient excuse to not bring her back if they don't want to; but if there was real concern, as I said above, there are many more lined up to take her place.
  12. There are only so many opportunities in specific locations. Unless you're lucky enough to live in a sports town with one or more cheerleading teams and you can make one of those teams, you have to be willing to re-locate if you really want to be a pro-cheerleader.
  13. Cameras or not, they can always blame not bringing Lisa back on worries about her injury & potential for further injury. Even if both she and her doctor says she's healed, they can still point to how dangerous neck injuries can be and how much hair flipping, etc. they do & say they're not willing to take the chance/assume the risk of new/further injury.
  14. Somebody posted in the previous pages (I think it was this topic) that she is back with the Ultra Angels. Assuming they have some kind of contract, she's probably locked in to that job for a while (without walking away & possibly burning bridges).
  15. They should have done it the same way for all of the vets. One of the conditions of auditioning is you have to be able to make to training camp. Can't make it to trainging canp, too bad maybe you'll be able to try out next year. It sounds harsh, but changing things for one or a few is when you start running into problems. Going to let one have a one-day audition? Have them all do a one-day audition (and don't offer it as a supposed "option" because we all know they are treated differently and, for some, choosing the one-day option (or taking a year off) would not have been looked at favourably. They also could have done the vets auditions over a couple of weekends if they wanted to accomodate a teacher's schedule. Just keep it the same for everyone.
  16. It wouldn't have been too bad of she had left out the "you respected the organization in such high regards." It's like she's trying to speak for the organization or something with that sentence.
  17. Gina is too pretty for this much makeup. It looks caked on & she looks plastic. Hopefully it looks way better in person.
  18. Exactly, as far as appearances go, Kat seems to be a great choice (I say "seems" because there have been times when she seems a little questionable/over the top). It makes sense to have a well-rounded show group so you can send whoever fits the criteria best for each appearance. It's TPTB sticking to the party line that show group is the best of the best dancers while selecting those that are not the best dancers that is the problem. Admit you need more than the best dancers for show group (good speakers, good with kids, great for photo ops, etc.) and be honest (or at least justify -- other then being Kelli's pet 😉) why certain people are selected for show group -- their good speakers, their good with kids, whatever -- just stop trying to convince us that you're selecting the best of the best dancers when you're clearly not.
  19. Since show group isn't really about "shows" (USO, etc.) with a variety of performances anymore, but more appearances and doing their field routines when they do dance, anyone talented enough dance-wise to be on the team, should be talented enough to make show group (based on skills). They need to start basing their selections for show group more from interviews and media training day than the actual show group auditions.
  20. Given their emphasis on being in shape, the healthy eating challenge is very pertinent to the show (and a big improvement over some of the "nutritionists," etc. they've had in the past (i.e., "carbonation causes cellulite"). Just like media training, the segment where they learn proper table etiquette, etc., it's needed training if they don't already know it to help ensure a healthy, in shape team. I think the reason they came up & filmed a healthy cooking "competition," was because they were promoting the guy's cookbook -- wasn't he a Cowboy player?
  21. That's an interesting take on things. First, yes, the Cowboys had the two recent scandals (that really didn't get much publicity), but they had zero to do with the show itself, so why would the NFL want the show cancelled? It makes sense that CMT would want to walk away from the show to distance itself from the cowboys and their controversy, but cancelling the show doesn't do this for the NFL. Also, if the NFL had a hand in it, Kelli et al would not be shopping for a new platform. Second, cancelling a little known show is not even close to equal to the disbanding of an entire squad. Also, the "no last names, not allowed to post pics on private social media" stuff. I don't know about the other teams, but neither applies to the DCC (they may not publish the last names, but they don't go to any lengths to hide them either). Third, it's a little known show. Far more people have never heard of it than know about it or watch it. Yes, it's nice to be able to see the process, put names to faces, etc., but the huge "hole" that will be left & the "turning these women back into sex objects" that the cancellation of this show will cause is a tad exaggerated.
  22. Since Kelli et al are reportedly shopping for a new platform, it makes sense that it was CMT's decision. If it was the Cowboy's, it was a very stupid move to walk away from CMT before securing a new platform.
  23. Had to do a double take on the white top in the second pic -- thought it was a bra on first scroll through. 😂
  24. I think this pose needs to be retired. It makes her look too skinny (and on her other pics she looks fine). I think it's something about the position of the bent leg -- her thigh just looks like a bone with skin hanging off of it. And the sucking in so the ribs are sticking out doesn't help. It's the same pose (or similar) in the pic of Daphne? that caused all the brouhaha a couple of years ago (she did look a lot skinnier than Madeline, though). Makes me think something about the pose accentuates their thinness (and they don't need it).
  25. I'm surprised they didn't cover up her tatoo. Nothing wrong with it, but didn't they cover up someone else's? Maybe because it was larger and a cross? Or am I remembering wrong (highly possible 😎)?
