  1. Which is why I used the words "I don't think" - obviously speculative lol He did attend a Christian school and I am fairly certain Deanna confirmed that the family struggled with food and financial stability.
  2. Not arguing at all but genuinely curious if the same logic applies to Jimbob who by all accounts consistently struggled with food insecurity ("financial agony"), an absent father, and a deeply religious mother who may or may not have blamed her husband's issues on "a loss of spiritual focus." I can see how the IBLP may have groomed JB from this vulnerable perspective. I DO have trouble finding compassion for JB - though I would like to learn more about the IBLP and their roots - their recruitment efforts and their tactics. I don't think Jill's book- or rather's Derick's book - wants to trace things back to how everything unraveled so badly. Derick just wants to win the cowboy showdown. He wants to blow off his pistol and walk into the sunset with HIS woman, spurs a'clickin. No, but it is the perfect PR to launch their dirt for profit book.
  3. My old brain is confusing dates now. Anyone care to help? When did Robyn meet Kody? Do we know the actual year? I read somewhere that the show had started and then the air date was delayed for some reason - and that's why Meri's hair is longer in some scenes and shorter for their recreations. And that's also why Robyn's courtship was longer than their normal. Meri just posted on instagram about her miscarriage - indicating "he" would have been 15. So that means 2008. Was that the same year that Christine miscarried? Seems like 2008-2009 was helluva year - also wondering if that's the year Christine and Meri had their falling out.
  4. I saw it. Jed! was battling against someone's long tirade which essentially damned his family to hell and said that Derick and Jill were guided by the Holy Spirit. Battle of the Christians I guess. IMHO -Jed AND the commenter were both perhaps misguided - LOL.
  5. Yes. Jill traded one sanctimonious patriarch for another I'm afraid. By all accounts, it seems as if Jill may have a "better" life, now that she is not saddled with family burden or the IBLP ideology. Unfortunately though, Derick's past tweet history, confirms his ongoing, seething feud against her father. His anger might very well be justified but I am wary of his involvement in HER story. I think he should get off her cover. She should be the one looking powerfully into the camera. Instead it looks like he's saying "she's mine now." He may have "rescued her" - but I fear the book now only represents his ideas and his narrative - shared by Jill. Not owned by Jill.
  6. Ugly jewelry but not surprised its another MLM. At least she isn't peddling Plexus though which I find infinitely more troublesome.
  7. It is being filmed though, there was a camera in one of the reflections that was talked about out on another site. I'm sure they enjoy each others company but they interact mostly for filming and plexus.
  8. I think its funny that Christine used to travel to Flagstaff to film. And now, its Janelle always traveling to Utah to "hang out" (for filming).
  9. When talking about the AUB and the "principle" which describes the "rules" for living a plural lifestyle, what we saw with the Browns is the norm. First wives do tend to battle (we saw evidence of this with Kody's mom battling against Janelle's mom and Annie leaving soon after taking a second wife). Wives compete by design to "learn selflessness." Their emotional needs can never be truly met. This set up encourages competition which encourages reproduction so that women can get more resources and leverage in the system. There are typically favorites in this arrangement. There is no promise of equality. The Brown's made that up when they decided to present a false view of polygamy to the world. And I'd argue, that the Darger's are probably hiding quite a few skeletons themselves.
  10. Nothing wrong with structure and rules but I still firmly believe that the dissolution of the Brown family was not the fault of Kody alone. It was the fault of the design itself. With or without an authoritative husband, the structure seems oppressive to women.
  11. Ugh which one do you want. Joe - who enforces patriarchy and his wives "running their will into his." Or Kody, who is completely chaotic, still believes that crap, but doesn't do a good job with it.
  12. Here's the thing. I respect their desire to not dispose of the remains as medical waste (though I understand that decision too). But burying in your yard under "a ton of rocks" seems an odd choice if indeed they were well connected with their church. Many funeral homes offer free urns or small "caskets" to parents who lose a child. Many churches have special cemeteries for miscarried babies. It seems to me that if this was done for "respect," they could have take a few extra steps to have a proper burial - even a service - without spending a dime. They were supposedly "royalty" in the AUB. But to me, it seems like they buried it and referred to it like a pet rabbit.
  13. I just skimmed upthread so I don't know if this was mentioned but she said they "put a ton of rocks on it" because my dad said "so dogs don't rip it apart" (yes those are direct quotes from her YouTube video)
  14. The genetic testing is usually offered to add information about why they miscarried - especially if it was a later term miscarriage. You find out the sex as a byproduct of that test. But you are right, they did not have insurance so they likely did not do this.
  15. Not necessarily visually though. Christine went to the hospital because of hemorrhaging. Its possible they offered her genetic testing on any retained tissue.
  16. Do we not think that they used pooled money to purchase the land in CP too? Was it Christine's money to "give them their stake." It may truly be just "family money" but if that is the case why is everyone mad at Kody and Robyn for using pooled family money on her house when Christine did the same thing.
  17. I understand that is your perspective and you could very well be right. But spectrum is the absolute correct word. There is simply no way to tell from the outside looking in. Everyone is different. My eldest has a genius level IQ, but it has been an incredible struggle teaching him the skills of daily life. His executive function skills are not well developed, he has poor impulse control and he often experiences profound anxiety which will last for weeks. He has lived on his own in college, graduated, and he has held down a few different jobs. But it is not without tremendous support from me and his father. When he crashes - he comes back home because he literally cannot function during those periods. No one who knows him - would ever guess that his life is such a struggle. As @TurtlePower mentioned, he masks well. Just know that intelligence has nothing to do with being able to fit seamlessly into this artificially constructed world. It can be hard on the individuals and can be hard on the supporting family. I would never judge Robyn in this case. We just do not know their circumstances.
  18. I will never understand their finances but it seems their family account was mainly used for property/houses - at least in the more recent years. So the family account paid the down payment on Christine's house and Robyn's house. Its always interesting to me that people blame Kody and Robyn for taking Meri/Janelle's money. But they don't blame Christine. She took it and ran lol. I am hopeful that they each got a fair pay out when they left but Christine got the best deal. She got the house and the proceeds from that house. Whereas Meri and Janelle got a poop pond. Hopefully Kody bought it from them.
  19. I put an applause emoji because you are exactly right. Though I am terribly sorry for the difficulty you've encountered and I too despise the socially constructed society we live in.
  20. Just chiming in...we can't really judge books by their covers. There are plenty of people on the spectrum that "appear" able to live and work independently. However, what you don't see are the periods in which they might not be able to do so. For example, flares of regression or anxiety can be intermittent but disabling for some. And of course Dayton may be receiving supports along the way that are helpful to achieve academically. However those accommodations might not translate to the work place. Or he may have deficits in the skills needed to live by himself - get to work, keep a routine, eat nutritiously, sleep regularly et cetera. Certainly there are plenty of people on the spectrum that can do all those things. But in my direct experiences, no two individuals are alike and often the abilities are strong in some areas but weak in others. Also, I'm not denying the possibility that Robyn might be stifling Dayton and impacting his life negatively. However, in my experience, you really just cannot tell what is going on there.
  21. I'm not entirely sure all their offspring are amazing well adjusted. I suppose that might depend on our definition of adjustment. And of course what we all see publicly may very well not be reality. The kids know which parts of their lives to present.
  22. Agree. The season upcoming will be Janelle's separation. Christine in Utah, Mykelti and Tony (with Robyn in the closet?). Maybe Meri's divorce though that could be on the following season. Kody transitioning to blissful monogamy. Then the hook for next season will be David/Christine wedding. More Mykelti because she's trying so hard. Meri and Janelle moving on. But... the season after that? who knows. On reddit someone said that Robyn and Kody were filming a family vacation and Kody was feeding Robyn fudge.
  23. Two points. One. Christine did an interview a few months ago in which she admitted to "leaving the faith" back in Vegas. Why? "Because its bad for women." The second point. Gwen, before she started filtering her comments, indicated that she and her mom both believed that the AUB was cult- like and that in some ways she thought Kody was a victim as well. This was not just a Kody issue. The part that is confusing everyone - is that Christine on the show - makes it a Kody issue and does not denounce the faith and that is likely to keep the show on the air. People forget, that Christine's mother suffered emotional torture when her husband took a second wife. Christine was not initially impacted but it seems that becoming close to her mom again - may have opened her eyes a bit. The "fairy tale" of equality in polygamy does not actually exist. Christine knows that. But they sold it on the show for a decade. Sadly, the way Kody punished his wives for their "behavior" and put them in situations to "grow them" is all part of the patriarchal polygamist BS.
  24. Considering they own the new house in Lehi I'd say she lives there already - or is at least there all the time. The reflection out back has the same view as theLehi new home. And several of her recent social media posts have been with a background that's inconsistent with her rental. I think she already moved - or mostly moved.
