  1. Which brings up another question. You send your students into a bar, give them free reign to drink as much as they want (unsupervised), and then let them find their own ways home, etc.? No liability assumed there, right? Not to mention, what if the gNATS start gabbing while they're in the bar?
  2. Just as he was in the tunnel when Jane says "What now?" and he replies with a long winded explanation of how the investigation will conclude and blah blah blah, and she replies "I mean, what about me? I just killed an FBI agent." Oh, yeah. About that....
  3. Posters have more or less assumed the invaders are aliens because of the quantum leap in technology displayed on the show. The issue is still unsolved. I would think the colonized people, after a year, would have a very good idea of who they are, but nobody's sayin' just yet.
  4. The same might be said about the director when he is handed the script for each episode.
  5. So, we can assume that there are absolutely no CCTV cameras anywhere in the FBI building, especially by the server room? Because that's the only way I can see Natalie and Alex waltzing right up to the door, thinking that no one will ever know they were there. And, of course, the FBI would never review any footage after a bomb threat, especially after two successful attacks in the city. .That was my immediate thought, too. Natalie is in on the fix, and set up the explosion by sending Alex around the corner. Why else would two NATS stand around a computer setup that is just screaming "I'm a bomb! You've been had!" (Don't answer that.) Don't they do psychological checks on agent recruits before they ever get hired? I get the plot requirements, but, jeez Louise, this group is starting to scare me with the idea that they could actually be in charge of national security and law enforcement.
  6. Was the pilot billed as commercial free? I would hope that they could attract at least some sponsors if they expect a run this season.
  7. I would think that, in the post apocalyptic car-less LA society, the environment would be so quiet that one would hear any vehicle approaching, especially a big diesel MRAP. But tv sirens is just one thing I notice, that's all. If the resistance has a collective half a brain, they will spirit the body of the VIP away (dead or alive), so that there is still some doubt in management's mind as to his/her condition. Of course, a VIP would have a tracking device on his person, right? They took the subway because, well, it runs right by MacArthur Park, and the aliens, before the invasion, were getting radio signals from Earth, but it has taken decades for them to get there (remember Contact?). So all they were getting was really cheesy music from the late 60's. And he wanted a tour. There is a Capetown, but it is a very rural settlement on the Humboldt County coastline.
  8. I went back and rewatched after reading your post, and, (with the help of Spanish CC) found that Laurel was basically repeating what the DA was saying. He did say that "These people will turn on you at the first opportunity", to which she replied "Now he's trying to turn us against Annalise.", or close to it. The last thing she said to him as a retort was something like "But, because you prefer to open a case for which you have no result.", which I took was idiomatic for "You got nothing, go ahead and go for it." Other opinions are welcome, thanks.
  9. In addition to all the postings, I would like to hand it to the hospital nurse who actually followed procedure in giving out information about a patient. I'm looking at you, Code Black, Grey's Anatomy, Night Shift, et. al.
  10. As soon as the maid took that $500 or so from Quinn, she would be down at the offices of The National Enquirer, selling a hot tip about a coverup at the hotel. Did the dead woman bring her own heroin to the party, or did the agents somehow scrounge up enough to give her a fatal dose?
  11. So Beau wants to escape. To Big Bear? I mean, it's nice in the summer, and there's no waiting on Chair 1 during the winter, but there's precious little growing season up there, and in all reality life is all about taking care of the basics now. With all the unoccupied housing anywhere outside the wall it would be a lot easier to survive in the valleys. Speaking of "outside the wall", one thing confused me tonight (okay, at least one thing). The frames show the wall more or less going through the Hollywood Hills, and Santa Monica is supposedly shut off, but then so is downtown LA, which doesn't make any sense geographically. I want to know more about how the aliens subdivided up the world. Beau made reference to a Capetown riot at the beginning. Personally I was glad to see the redhats get an asswhippin' for a change. Besides being unaccountably brutal, they seem to be barely more competent than the resistance. Beau and Will stage a shootout on the 30TH FLOOR of a building, and they "lose" the suspects? Ryan Hardy says hello. If you have the only cars on the road, is it really necessary to work your sirens on the way to a call? I wonder where Bram was going when Katie shut him down for the night? He had a lot of equipment.
  12. #1947 -- The Writing Staff (double entendre, there)
  13. I'm betting that someone on the writing staff did, though.
  14. After the first episode, I opined that the resistance would be far better off helping the population with food/medicine/other essentials, from whatever source and by whatever means available. That would garner them widespread goodwill, get their message out as well as an information flow about the rest of the world. but, no, they're stuck on stupid and campaigning to be martyrs.
  15. Secret Service Agent: "Who are you?" Jareth: "My name is Jareth" Agent: "Like the David Bowie movie? Yeah, sure, kid, beat it." Jareth: "See here, now. I'm a well dressed British student, with an upper class accent. I even brought flowers for Mrs. McCord. That should prove my bona fides." Agent: "Okay, boys, let him through."
  16. Just as the I stands for Idiots. From her personal website IknowEliasdidnotactaloneandIwillproveitReallyIwill.com Instead of the 5 (or 3) trainees picked to go home (that stupidity has already been addressed), the entire hostage rescue team should be booted, or at least sent back for remedial training. "Fire at will "? Really? In a building with hostages? And no one thought to guard the back door in the first place? And Shelby's glee at downing the guard in front. In reality, that bullet would have ripped half her back out; it's not a game. Best line of the fight: "Everybody fall back. It's an ambush!" What was your first clue, maybe the fusillade of fire from the hostage takers?
  17. Because the show will probably have him starting an affair with Alicia maybe?
  18. I did like the scene in the office where Alicia came on to Jason, and they both turn directly toward the camera for a second. If they buy Cary out, does his non-compete clause hold or go away, assuming there is one?
  19. Ripping off OD30 now, are we? And, to boot, all the nitwits at the scene obviously didn't watch the movie, because they're all standing around a suspect vehicle. Now there's $5 million, excuse me, $4 million, maybe 3.5, lying around the base just waiting to be picked up. I could have sworn he was yelling "Visalia" (my hometown) as he ran toward the camera. Speaking of which, who was switching the view of the op from camera to camera? Jareth from the David Bowie movie seems like an ordinary guy for a change. Gotta be a problem lurking in there somewhere. Someone needs to stuff baby brother's head down a toilet (off camera, of course) for his attitude.
  20. "The only thing different between screwing off and science is...writing stuff down." Words to live by. Thanks, Mythbusters.
  21. Microbrewed beer? Artisanal Pizza? HBO, maybe? I want my MTV!
  22. It was good, but if DA Nakatomi wants to look into what happened, a short investigation will lead to a cell phone call from someone claiming to be clerk Troy. A search of the cell phone records would lead back to a cell phone owned by Asher, or whoever made the call from the house ( I have forgotten). That becomes fraud by misrepresenting himself as an officer of the court. Which could really snowball if it could be proven that Bonnie was in the room at the same time.
  23. The biggest problem I still have with the show is its lack of explanation for the motivations of the people in charge, beyond the simplistic "let's make the best of a brutal occupation". Far beyond just willing to go along, most of Snyder's crew is actually bordering on enthusiastic about subduing the population of LA. Perhaps the more rebellious and authority-averse sections of the population have already been removed. Presumably, the invaders have also replicated this system throughout the world, although how they have managed to set up the same systems worldwide is a mystery to me. Hopefully, Broussard will now assume some sort of leadership role in the cell, and make it more effective. All the way up to the market scene, I was thinking that Quayle had some plan in place to take down Snyder, but no, he just wanted out. A fully stocked pickup? That wouldn't be out of place, driving up 101 when there's no other traffic, right? I get the plot device of having two characters having a conversation on a bus, but, in real life, that would have been overheard by everyone nearby, and not everyone is that dumb. Random observation: After all the devastation and conquest by the new rulers, Beau and Will are still wearing their seat belts. Reminds me of an old cartoon with two fishermen on a lake, with mushroom clouds in the distance. "What does it mean. Irv? I'll tell what it means. No size restrictions, and screw the limit."
  24. It seems to be that the reason for the juxtaposition of the two schools is that behind the surface events, the scheming and plotting were the same at either school. I really think that Chris Dixon was set up by the Monica the guidance counselor, who I think is looking to slide right into his job as he exits. Consider the focus of the camera on her MS degree in Education Management during their meeting. Then there was the two closeups of her after the board hearing, and Leslie, after the Leyland Board voted to dissolve itself. Both showed more than a touch of triumph. Leslie, in fact, seemed to be channeling Darth Vader for a moment there. Quite a change from the view of her at the end of the episode where the DNA evidence was revealed to her. I do harbor some thought that she is not free and clear yet. Maybe the trustee will fire her. Nor mine, but what I got after repeated listening and CC was something like this: Counselor: I have to ask you to tell me about the boy who touched you. Did Mr. Dixon ask you what happened?" Evy: No C: Why didn't you tell anyone? E: I saw what happened to my friend. It's not important to anyone and will only make things worse, so I am not going to say anything. I'm missing the reason why Leyland would offer her a settlement. Was it because the party could be considered a school sanctioned event? On a somewhat lighter note, Sebastian really, really needs to brush up on his dating skills.
