Conversely, I'm loving it. It's like watching a poem of the soul.

It seemed to me that each new addition could only be done by the person scanning themselves in. Since the older generations are gone it couldn't be recreated. Right? I was wondering what the urgency was. They said they could contain it if they could access the transporter power. So just wait a few hours for the rescue to finish and then get all the data you need. Even if they thought they could get information then and there that would somehow save the current people from losing their home, now that it's all over just start again and get the info you need now. No reason it could only be done once.

I am loving how this is being presented. So poetic.

I was thinking more of any unpaid taxes Dexter had at the time of his "death". How voracious is your IRS anyway?
-
Most interesting thing I learned from the episode is that it is NOT illegal to fake your own death. I imagine then that they get you for something else, like tax evasion.

Spoilers And Spoiler Speculation: Anarchy In The USA
Starchild replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Fear The Walking Dead
Haha, agree to disagree. Her scenes were in flashback, though we weren't supposed to realize that at the time. I think he did manage to see a recording of her though, an interview she did with Al. -
Ha, I thought the same thing until I remembered that he would obviously see less than 100% on his test grade. Linkletter would only be postponing the argument.
-
Yeah that's true, and I'm probably sounding overly aggressive about it. Sheldon may or may not be Sheldon here, but the fault is definitely squarely with Linkletter on this one.
-
I love Isaac. This show can sometimes get quite sentimental; I'm looking forward to his reactions to the first loving gay couple to come to the B&B (male, to enhance his relatability). I think the actor would be able to nail the conflicting emotions that could come out of that kind of encounter.
-
No offense, but so what? It's one thing to cave when it's just your own arbitrary ruleset, like if he wanted something from Linkletter that he doesn't typically like to give to students, but as someone noted above this was actual cheating, as per institutional guidelines. He never should have allowed it, no matter how "funny" the situation was supposed to be. The show's own internal rules, never mind society's, should have also disallowed him from taking the test 3 times for no good reason. I know, I know it's just a TV sitcom, but come on, if we didn't care about these kind of things, then whey are we even on these forums?

I came to this show for the original premise. I likely won't continue watching after this season. I may not even come back after the Christmas break. The average writing was OK when I liked the premise (I like medical stuff), but can't sustain a show where I have no real interest in the scenarios being presented. I might have stayed for sassy Eli, but not this version.

I was just going to say the same thing. How can Linkletter justify allowing a student to take a test 3 times, with ample time between attempts for extra study, just so the kid could claim a perfect mark? How is that remotely fair to the other students in the class? With the potential for lawsuits should they learn about this blatant favouritism, I can't see the president directing such a thing just to keep Sheldon happy. Sheldon's own sense of morality and justice should have precluded it. This seems out of character for both him and Linkletter, honestly. As a victim of injustice due to favouritism, I perhaps overreact to these types of scenarios. :(

They touched on pronunciation in the first episode I think. IIRC, accenting the first syllable is contemporary, but more classically the second syllable was emphasized.

Spoilers And Spoiler Speculation: Anarchy In The USA
Starchild replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Fear The Walking Dead
Kim did say that Madison has been through some stuff, so I think we can expect some fairly radical changes to her character, at least initially. Whether that translates to a significant permanent alteration to who Madison has always been, one that fans like me will accept or reject, well that remains to be seen. -

I like her too. Also I was combing through reddit and the majority opinion there is quite favourable as well. It looks like, outside of our little corner here, Madison is popular and ordinary fans are pretty excited about the news. Assuming the rumours are true about how badly Kim was treated when they killed Madison off, and how desperate the showrunners are to improve ratings, I'm hoping she negotiated creative control over her character. The main fear on reddit is that they brought her back to a show all too ready to assassinate her character. -
Y'all just know I wanted Madison to come out of that tent

Are the left and right sides of the uniform tunic different lengths? Is there a functional reason for that or is it just "hey here's a ST uniform design no one's done before"? Maybe because it's stupid?

So World Beyond hasn't offered any explanation for why they were so secretive during their early years?

They weren't both Moffett?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Eleven tell Amy and Rory that if they were zapped by an Angel, they were beyond his reach? That there's some rule that says even with his TARDIS he couldn't go back in time to retrieve them, that they could never see each other again? Will they keep to that rule now, or will they find some trick to get around it? I feel that it could go either way, what with this being the end of Chibnall's era. Has a companion ever gone from one showrunner to the next?

The kids went there when they joined the search, and they came back around the same time as the others, so probably not too far away. OMG you're right. I knew that. Damn my aging brain. It's possible that Harrison doesn't know, but they're setting him up as smart and capable enough to be Dexter's real adversary (not the cops). But perhaps he was looking for his dad and followed up on the news of the missing girls. Either way, watching Dexter in an existential struggle with his own son would be an interesting way to cap the story. re point 1: It would be a dereliction of duty for the cops not to search it, now that they know this is a crime. re point 2: For sure it's to misdirect the audience.

re point 1: Was that Pavlov's bear, or just a filler scene to kill time? re point 2: Public crematorium in a hunting community? I figure people use it all the time, and people are used to random ashes at any time of the day or night. I think it was an underground room and the entrance to it is in the campground area that Harrison and the other kids broke into. Caldwell (to me those look like Brown's eyes) seemed to get pretty antsy when Angela told him they'd be sniffing around the area, which probably triggered the need to get rid of her so she wasn't found there. re point 1: I think so too. Have we heard him tell an outright lie yet? I wonder if maybe he tries to never tell a lie. re point 2: Not only that, but perhaps also the "Hunter"'s first victim, years ago? re point 3: Suspecting that Caldwell is the "Hunter", I think it's more likely he's trying to wind up the police investigation so he can continue his own activities. re point 4: Another theory is that Harrison knows the truth about his dad and stepmom (perhaps discovered material after her death?). Some kids become their parents, and some rebel to become the exact opposite. He's demonstrated that he tries not to tell a direct lie, and he stands up against injustice (bullies), which may be clues that he will be the one to finally bring his dad to justice. I think the cops bringing part of their focus to the location of his victim (the campground and its underground prison) forced him to abbreviate his ritual. It's probably much more involved when he has the luxury of time.

That's what I was thinking too, that this is where the Doctor's actual race (NOT the Time Lords) originated. Weeping Angels too? Maybe all species who can control time originated from the same place. I was wondering why they bother with that hand pad at all. If it's not keyed to identity, why even bother with a door?

"The Pit"? Get it? La Brea? Thank you, tip your waitress. It was finally cemented for me how tiny the effects budget for this show is when the tree crashed through a car windshield, indicated by a crashing sound and the actors whipping their heads around shouting "whoa" to show the tree already in place lol. I was watching him in his scenes with her, and it dawned on me that he has chemistry with everyone he's interacted significantly with: Eve, the kidnap girls, now this lady. Shows the actor is an excellent scene partner, invested and present. Signs of a true professional. Too good for this show maybe?

FFS who are these assholes, now?!
