  1. Haha! I'm not gonna lie - I have actually set an alarm on my phone for 2:20 London time tomorrow, just to make sure I'm on Twitter.
  2. Please note David's pinned post above - this topic is for off-topic conversations, not show discussion. I'm going to move some stuff into the appropriate topics. Thanks in advance for the cooperation!
  3. @peeayebee, this is what you're looking for. I've locked it, so all future discussion will be in this forum.
  4. And the fandom explodes... #221back is already trending worldwide. I can't imagine it's already airdates. Maybe they're going to indulge my fantasy and do a Moriarty Reichenbach prequel (meaning a prequel to Reichenbach, not necessarily even Sherlock-related)?
  5. Just to offer my perspective as someone who's named after dead Grandma Photo Fox myself, I've always felt it was a foundation for me to stand on, not a burden to carry. It gives me a feeling of connection to her, even though we never met. That's what I think Tom intended. (Slightly OT, but I have a friend who was raised by a single mom - dad refused to be in the picture. She named her son after his dad, which astonished some people, because they didn't think the dad deserved that honor. She agreed, but she did feel that her son deserved some piece of his father, some connection, and that's the only one she could give him.) I see Tom's actions much the same way. Besides, a little girl who is born as her mother is dying, and then goes on to be raised in the bosom of her mother's family, in her mother's family home? I think there's a certain feeling of "replacement" no matter what her name is. Total agreement, though, that neither of them actually articulated these ideas. What was Robert's argument against? Or did he offer one?
  6. He's also quoted in those articles as saying another full-blown series is "unlikely". Hrmph.
  7. You mean... I missed out on early Voyager for NO GOOD REASON?!??! *gasp* Thanks for the correction, @legaleagle53. I can't believe I did that. I totally agree that she was the best captain. (I was just a little afraid to type that out loud, because that's often an UO.) I loved the fact that she was strong, and she was absolutely in charge, but I never felt like she was trying to be "one of the guys". She was unequivocally a woman, and a fearless leader, and nobody acted like that was a thing.
  8. I loved Voyager, although I didn't get into it at first. IIRC, Janeway (or the actress, anyway), had been on either some TNG or DS9 episodes, and I couldn't stand her, so I stayed away from VOY for a long time. Oddly, in the end, I thought she was a great captain, and the series was my favorite. I haven't rewatched since it went off the air, so my memories probably wouldn't hold up, but I loved Tom and B'Elanna, and shipped them hard. One of my biggest disappointments about the finale was not getting to see them with their baby. I liked Seven, but she kind of ate the show.
  9. Wasn't that where Landry on Friday Night Lights got the name? Not that I expect this show to have an original idea...
  10. If you're tempted to post about the MM harassment stuff, don't. @radishcake has been quite clear that topic is closed. I'm deleting some posts and editing others. Unless there's new information - from a reliable source - just let MM stay in the Y&R history books where he belongs.
  11. Crap. Same here. :-( It does appear, though, that my local station is just going to hold them back a week. If TV Guide is correct, anyway.
  12. There's no PBS site for this one, but I think we all know what it is. If you have a clever sub-title for this topic, let me know!
  13. There's no PBS show site for this one yet, but this is the synopsis of the first episode... PBS episode page If you have a clever sub-title for this topic, let me know!

  16. Did HO'S seriously say derisively to that guy, "you didn't serve (in the military)"? I want to punch him in the stupid face. I'm a Marine's daughter, and I have all the respect in the world for the military, but that was a dick thing to say. He has no idea what that guy (or anyone else) didn't serve. The vets I know would never say such a thing. Ms. Mole (sorry, I don't know all their names) is certainly full of herself. Dr. Drew doesn't want to make out with her at work, so he must be gay! It couldn't possibly be that he has someone else, or is too professional to screw a co-worker, or just doesn't find you attractive. Jeez, what a heavy-handed story. As usual, Ken Leung was a highlight, as was Freddy Rodriguez. Team Rugosa forevuh! I can't wait for him to find out the sanctimonious psychiatrist is playing both sides against the middle - lecturing him about how to deal with HO'S while banging him in the supply closet.
  17. I had too until reading this! I was thinking, "well, I guess she would know Summer because of dating her not!brother." lol They totally played the scene awkward to me, like Courtney was pretending to care to ingratiate herself with her boyfriend's sister, and Summer acted like, "they left us here alone, so I guess to be polite I'll answer your questions." NOT like BFFs dishing on a new boyfriend AT ALL. Maybe we're supposed to forget that ever happened?
  18. Hasn't Crimson Lights only changed hands twice? Nick and Sharon started it, sold it to Kevin and company, who now sold it to Dylan? Jabot has changed hands a dozen times in the same period.
  19. This discussion is about the Veronica Mars movie, not Y&R, and doesn't really belong here. Also, @radishcake has already asked everyone to drop the harassment conversation unless and until new information comes to light. Speculation about why MM may or may not have been asked to reprise his role on VM and what that says about the HK allegations are a part of that.
  20. Oooh, fun! Okay, I'm doing all whiskey songs. No particular order - just how they occurred to me. Bourbon in Kentucky - Dierks Bentley Whiskey River - Willie Nelson It Ain't the Whiskey - Gary Allan Last Call - Lee Ann Womack One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer - George Thorogood Whiskey Lullaby - Brad Paisley and Allison Krauss Looking Back Now - Maggie Rose Whiskey in a Jar - Metallica Alabama Song (Whiskey Bar) - The Doors Tennessee Whiskey - David Allan Coe American Pie - Don McLean Jack Daniels - Eric Church
  21. And Ken Leung's character served with them as well, right? And all the (living) ones end up in close proximity to each other? Sure. I'm solidly on Team Bureaucratic Hardass. And it beyond pissed me off that the psychiatrist immediately assumed that any problems he was having with Harley O'Smulders (thanks for that!) must be some kind of personal issue. It couldn't possible be because HO'S (hee!) is a complete tool and a lawsuit waiting to happen.
  22. Wait, what? Seriously? I skipped this episode, but now I must watch. This sounds so awesomely snarkworthy. This could be my new Smash.
