  1. This is such a tiny nitpick, but I heard a line in an episode I saw recently that struck me as out of character. I forget the exact scene, it may have been when Jason and Richard are talking about taking their clients to Atlantic City (or I could be wrong on that) but anyway Emily says something about how he's in insurance, "he's not running a rap label." Sorry if I 'm getting the context wrong but I just remember thinking that Emily would have no idea what a rap label even is, or what those guys would even look or act like. It's a funny line, but would've made more sense coming from Lorelei.
  2. He didn't cheat in sports, but he cheated on some tests. Brandon discovered the professor was letting him cheat so he could keep his grades up and still play sports. But B showed him the error of his ways and he became a good guy who flirted with Donna a a little bit. Then he disappeared.
  3. God, I loved this show. I got frustrated with it as time went on and they kept killing everybody off. But it was so good in the beginning. Doug and Carol. Sigh. To this day if I see Clooney and Julianna Margulies cross paths on an awards show I get all swoony. And how I sobbed when Mark died! I still don't like that Doug wasn't at his funeral, though. Agreed that Carter and Lucy getting stabbed was an amazing storyline, and that song they played during that scene still gives me chills when I hear it.
  4. I feel the same way! I've been catching some eps on Pop and it just brings me back to childhood. Today they showed the first one with Ace, and Julie and Vicki are both crushing on him. He even has a scene just wearing a towel, just so everyone was totally clear that he was the new hot character. Haha. Also, a very young David Faustino was in that one.I get a kick out of the guest stars. One I saw today had Didi Conn (Frenchy!) paired with Grant Goodeve, the hot oldest brother on Eight Is Enough. Late 70's pop culture overload!!
  5. I am convinced that Brandon's terrible dancing at the rec center is what directly led to the "Brandon hates to dance" running plotline. I bet Jason saw himself and vowed "Never again!" Re: Carla disappearing off the face of the earth. Just add her to the long list of Brandon's season 1 girls who all vanished. Teen mom, Vivica A. Fox (who was supposed to be a neighbor!), Ice skater girl, Mary Ann from the pilot. All vanished, never to be seen again, except for a brief appearance in Brandon's flashback memory at the senior breakfast.
  6. Agreed that Donna looked cute in the beginning of season 4. I also thought she looked great in season 10.
  7. Oh I forgot about his gold pants! (Truth be told I probably willfully blocked them from my memory.) Yeah, those were bad.
  8. I don't know how this works exactly, but the guy who stood in line for 8 days, 8 days for what? An interview/audition? Because they still had time to make the montage about him. Anyway, his story made me tear up, as did the autistic guy. Loved seeing the other guys cheering for him. ER doc never really bugged me in past seasons but he crossed the line tonight when he wore his stethoscope with no shirt. We get it, you're a doctor.
  9. I remember the vest look too. You could find some good ones at the thrift store in the men's section. I always thought Susan had old lady hair. I'm not sure what exactly about it looked old, but it somehow made her look a lot older than 20 or whatever age she was supposed to be.
  10. I just saw a scene in season 4 I forgot about that made me laugh. Richard and Emily are talking about going to the homeowners association to report their neighbors for handing out king size candy bars at Halloween. Lorelai: "Two Halloweens ago someone painted the Dupree's chihuahua orange, and no one went to the homeowners association then." Emily: "Well, everyone hated Taco." Lol. I think it's Kelly Bishop's delivery that makes it so funny.
  11. I love the scene when Luke takes a sledgehammer to the wall (to make the apartment bigger), hands it to Jess and says, "Finish up. Afterward we'll hold hands and skip!" I also like when Luke teases Jess about working at Wal-Mart, mostly because it makes Jess so flustered that for once he doesn't have a snappy comeback. Mrs. Kim pretty much always makes me laugh, as does Michel.
  12. Random thoughts from the eps I caught today... Tom Miller was a babe. I wish when Valerie came back for the finale she had Tom with her, or at least mention that they were together and are living happily ever after. Well, they are in my mind, anyway! When Donna chooses David over Cliff the firefighter, for a second I think "Yay, Donna and David are back together for good!" And then I remember that no, they break up again and then we have to endure Noah for three years. Sigh.
  13. I love how right before Red was shot he was attempting, for once, to give Liz some answers, and she was all "Nah, I'm good. I don't care or need to know why you hired Tom." The hell??? What wouldn't you want to know that?? But then of course later after he's shot and might possibly die she decides she wants some info. I spend the majority of these episodes stressing out that Dembe is going to get murdered. If they kill him off I will be highly pissed. Tom. I love seeing him; I think the character is fascinating and the actor is charming and hot, but I fear they are taking him too far to the other side now. He's starting to get a bit too shmoopie-eyed over Liz. I'm not saying he needs to ruthlessly kill people every week but I really hope we don't have to watch him go back to sitting at home waiting for Liz to come home and eat the dinner he prepared, ala season 1.
  14. I just watched the episode where Jess comes to dinner at Emily's with the black eye. And man, I can't stand Rory in that whole scene. This is one time I had to side with Jess. It's true he didn't have to be so secretive but he actually tries to be civil to Emily (for Jess, anyway) and keep the peace at the dinner table, but Rory just keeps nagging him until he storms off. She's as much to blame for ruining dinner and no one really acknowledges that.
  15. We sing Oceans at our church sometimes and the girls in our worship band sing it way better than Deanna did. I like her, she's gorgeous and does have an interesting voice, but she didn't do as much with the song as she could've. There are parts in that song that can be really soaring and dramatic and she missed some opportunities with it. Of course it didn't help it was a chopped up version. I really dig Hannah, I know she won't make it to the very end but she's entertaining and her voice is awesome. I liked Kimberly better this week; last week even though everyone was raving I thought there was something off-putting about her voice. But this week I agree she was great.
  16. The most bizarre thing in this episode to me was seeing the actor from "Austin and Ally" (my daughter's favorite Disney show) playing wheelchair-bound Josh, talking about having a sex surrogate. Whoa, talk about a change of pace with acting roles!
  17. Thanks for the clarification. I have trouble keeping all of Val's bad deeds straight. Girl was busy!
  18. I liked Matt too, and think if he had been brought in earlier he could've been a solid lead male character for the show. But as it was he was doomed to be a placeholder until Kelly and Dylan reunited, so it was hard to root for them when you knew it wasn't going anywhere. I actually feel sorry for him as he proposes to Kelly. Sure she says yes, but don't count on it, fella!
  19. Well I'm glad Tom is now hiding out at her hotel room, because the dog will finally have some company.
  20. I missed the motorcycle episode but right now I'm watching the one where crazy Tara comes to stay at the apartment. (She is not crazy just yet.) Kelly is giving her a tour and Tara sees Colin's ugly cake painting and says, "Ooh, nice painting!" Of all the lies she tells, that one is the most egregious. Also in this episode: Steve's half brothers Randy Spelling and NotRandySpelling. Ugh.
  21. I was going to comment on the same thing. That was a great reaction, and it's the same way I feel when someone says they don't watch tv.
  22. Re: the Gremlins thing...at one point in the episode Abed and Annie mention watching it, and hold up the case, if I remember correctly. So the trailer at the end was just an extension of that joke. So yeah, it was part of the episode.
  23. Thank you! I kept thinking he was saying "Like Cheers in rain" and I just wasn't getting it. Also I'm not very familiar with Bladerunner so I wouldn't have made that connection.
  24. That's ok! I actually don't notice a lot of it either. I watch on Pop, which does replace some songs but some of it is still the same, I think. I know there are a handful of memorable scenes where I'd notice the difference but that's only every so often.
