I'm working through a rewatch and only a few eps into season 5, but one short scene I liked was right after they got together, she is talking to him at the diner and he says "Those jeans are really working for you. They're working for me too." And she says "Are you going to watch me walk away?" "Yep." And she sashays off. It's a cute little flirty scene. I'll have to get back to you with more after I get further along. I haven't seen most of season 6 in a long time so I have to refresh my memory.

All Episodes Talk: Lorelai and Rory and the People They Love
desertflower replied to solotrek's topic in Gilmore Girls
Yeah, I think it built up slowly, and then if you watch the scene where she confronts Richard about what he was doing to Jason, you can see her kind of snap. It's subtle, and she doesn't cause a scene, but she has a look on her face that seems to indicate that was the last straw. She had enough. -
I think I remember another woman appearing as Jackie, but it was only once and very brief. In the pilot, maybe?

All Episodes Talk: Lorelai and Rory and the People They Love

Yeah, the bride thing makes sense. But you're right, she was grating, which is why I found the wardrobe choice somewhat odd. They made her kind of spoiled and annoying so we'd sort of feel sorry for Dean and maybe not be so hard on him when he was drawn back to Rory. But then in the aftermath, Lindsey is all white and pure and just wanting to please Dean, so now you almost feel sorry for her and angry at Dean. So I guess I'm just curious about what they wanted from the audience. Are we supposed to root for Dean and Rory, or not? Ok I've officially given this too much thought. But that's what these forums are for, right?? :) -
All Episodes Talk: Lorelai and Rory and the People They Love

I wasn't sure where to post this. Just a small observation...I am currently rewatching the whole series and just got through Rory sleeping with Dean and Lindsey finding out about it. I noticed that Lindsey is dressed in white in every scene she's in. Coincidence, or an attempt to make her look young and innocent, thus making Dean seem like even more of a rat? Or were they trying to make Lindsey look boring and vanilla? (Which she didn't, IMO.) Just curious what you all thought. Or maybe I'm just over thinking it! -
Oh man, I HATE that scene on the carousel when Andrea propositions Brandon. People throw the word "cringe-worthy" around a lot, but it's totally appropriate for that scene. I actually squirm watching it, I just feel embarrassed for her. There's nothing wrong with her showing interest in him but it's just the way she says it, how she's giving herself as a gift to him. GAG.

She looked awesome in the France episodes, with super cute outfits too. Nobody could rock a black vest like Brenda! -

I'm excited for that Lifetime movie, it will probably be wonderfully cheesy. -

Yes, I think by 2000 fashion in general definitely calmed down a bit. Early 90's still had remnants of the crazy 80's stuff, and I also think the show probably pushed the envelope to make the kids look like "cutting edge" fashionable teens. I'm curious if some of those outfits they wore early on actually seemed cool to the viewers watching at the time. The funny thing is I actually was watching at the time, and I was about a year ahead of the gang so pretty close in age, but I honestly can't remember if I was impressed or repulsed by Dylan's denim trenchcoat back then!! -
Funny moments - what are your favorites?

Kirk giving Lorelei and Rory a ride on his pedicab cracks me up. Kirk isn't really one of my favorite characters but he's so funny in that scene. -
Cindy got a raw deal from the wardrobe department. Carol Potter was a pretty woman, and on the rare occasion they put her in something flattering she looked really nice. But I guess they were set on making her the dowdy mom from the Midwest. I still have trouble wrapping my brain around the fact that I am now older than she was in those episodes, because she seemed much older based on the wardrobe.

Yeah, Lorelei and Rory were pretty unlikable at the B&B. A little bit of that is funny; I myself have joked about not wanting to go to a B&B because you have to interact with strangers. But they took it to the extreme, and it was definitely one of those moments where their "We're better and cooler than you" attitude shone through. It might've been a refreshing plot twist if they got roped into an activity with the others and ended up (GASP!) having fun!!

That was the charm of the last couple seasons...watching Brian grow into his hotness! -
One is the Loneliest Number: Unpopular GG Opinions
desertflower replied to mstaken's topic in Gilmore Girls
Have I got an unpopular opinion for you guys! Please don't run me off, but I actually liked Luke's sister Liz. Granted, I'm in season 4 right now so they haven't moved in with the baby yet, and I haven't seen those eps in awhile so maybe she gets worse and I just forgot. But I think she's sweet and I like her scenes with Luke. Maybe it's just that the actress is a lot less shrill and annoying than she was as Chloe on ER, so in comparison she's a lot more pleasant! -
Backtracking a few posts to agree with this! I love all the festivals and events but it is odd they don't get mentioned again, even just in passing. Especially the dance-a-thon, since they mention it's Dean's "first one" and how intent Lorelai is to beat Kirk. I'm surprised they didn't revisit that rivalry at some point.

My personal favorite of Donna's booty shorts are the ones she wears while trimming the Walsh Xmas tree. Because nothing says Christmas Spirit like showing off your butt cheeks. -
I think blond accountant bought her shorts in the toddler section. If she made it much farther they probably would've had to blur her buttcheeks. Fun to see the nerdy guy make it through.

Yeah, I really appreciate them trying to make a lighter hour long show. The are so many super dark crime shows and depressing medical shows; this was a nice alternative to those.

This was nice to see, even though it was edited. They obviously cut the Edward Hermann tribute. I found it odd some of the other things they cut...when she asked where the cast thinks their characters would be now they didn't show Lauren and Alexis answering. According to some of the tweets I read Lauren said she thought Luke and Lorelei would be together 100%. Why edit that out? Weird. It would've been awesome if they could've gotten some short video messages from the people who couldn't make it. And also from some of the minor characters (Madelyn and Louise, Digger, Tristan) just to say a short hi.

Yeah, I enjoyed D & D's wedding but that church sure was packed full of a bunch of people we'd never seen before! I was disappointed David's mom was not there. I always thought the storylines with him and his mom were really good, and it would've been nice to see her at the end.

Had she said something like "he's acting like one of those rap singers", it would sound like Emily. Slightly out of touch. I think Emily may have heard of rap, but "running a rap label" was just a bit too specific to be believable coming from her.

Yeah, sorry, didn't mean to imply he immediately disappeared after the cheating thing. He did pop in and out for a while. But I think they ran out of things to do with him and then that was it. It might've been nice if he evolved into another regular. -
Well, you never know, if Netflix or some other outlet takes notice of how much love and attention the reunion got maybe they will make an offer that will get thing rolling. We rented "St. Vincent" the other night and Melissa was really good in it. Not as bubbly as Sookie but not as over the top as some of her other roles. Nice subtle performance.
-
I knew that Sookie wouldn't be at the reunion since MM is like the biggest star in the world now, but it dawned on me as i was obsessively following the Twitter feed that we were missing some other favorites too. No Mrs. Kim, no Sally Struthers, no Kirk or Taylor, and no Christopher. Still, it was a great turnout and so fun to see all of them that did make it. Someone on Twitter said "Of course Christopher would skip out on the reunion! So typical!" Ha.

Loving all the pictures on Twitter so far. Yanic Truesdale looks EXACTLY THE SAME. Everyone looks great.
