Just give Christy a scholarship to a Law School out of state and be done with it. I won't miss her.

I hope Anna Faris saved up her money, because she is going to need it.

S02.E03: Over the Hill with the Swords of a Thousand Men
AnimeMania replied to Bort's topic in The Boys
Finally an episode with action, adventure and comedy in the right proportions. Entertainment should be entertaining. This is a very pivotal episode, you can really see the cracks starting to form and a few characters could change their allegiances. -

There is a TV Series on Amazon Prime that is called "Inside The Boys" that is a talk show that discusses each episode of Season 2 of The Boys.

This was a really heavy episode, felt much longer than a hour, probably because there were no laughs. Check out the Bonus Content, there is a deleted scene (I could have really used some subtitles for this one) and a scene that includes commentary.

I thought it was just the spirits helping out the gang, showing Hippolyta a vision of the orrery, which is probably the key to the underground lair or to deciphering the pages. The spirits pulled the covers off of Leti to wake her up so she could turn off the furnace before it exploded.

This should be way more interesting than it is. The only person I like now is the mouse.

Relatively boring, why would giant serpents always die in a tight spiral?

Not what I was expecting, what a way to clean house. Not much left of my expectations storywise, I will have to reassess what I thought the story would be like. How do I watch a story without good guys, I don't even like Campion that much. Father will make a return, I did like him, but I don't think he will be the hero of the story. Maybe the girl that feel down the hole is still alive, raised in an alien community and ready to kick some butt, I could get behind that. Mother is a huge disappointment, the ship was a great resource and humans are an endangered species, treat us as such.

I watched the free 1st episode of Season 3 and thought it was the funniest episode so far, even funnier than my previous favorite when Jack and Lynette prank Jack's next door neighbor. They gave more time to the rest of the cast and got everyone, except Lynette (she might not have been around at the time of the shooting), some time to shine.

This epic serialized sci-fi series is executive produced and directed by Ridley Scott (The Martian, Blade Runner, Alien: Covenant). Acclaimed writer Aaron Guzikowski, the visionary behind the highly lauded film Prisoners, created the 10-episode series and serves as showrunner and writer for the project, which recently wrapped production in Cape Town, South Africa. The series centers on two androids tasked with raising human children on a mysterious virgin planet. As the burgeoning colony of humans threatens to be torn apart by religious differences, the androids learn that controlling the beliefs of humans is a treacherous and difficult task. The first three episodes of this highly-anticipated series will premiere on September 3rd on HBO Max. The series stars Amanda Collin, Abubakar Salim, Winta McGrath, Niamh Algar, Jordan Loughran, Matias Varela, Felix Jamieson, Ethan Hazzard, Aasiya Shah, Ivy Wong, and Travis Fimmel.

The way Leti answered that woman's question was too breezy and read as completely disingenuous to me. It felt like Leti knew all about those men and where they were. Since the spirits killed the men, I am guessing they also hid the bodies. The Spirits were also helping our heroes by showing Hippolyta the Orrery (mechanical model of the solar system). Hiram Epstein was an Astrophysicist, and Hippolyta has an interest in astronomy, so they will have to bring her into the loop at some point to progress further. All human interest stories are kind of puff pieces where the tone that Leti uses seems to be what was expected, upbeat, uplifting, motivational, and self promoting, while also giving recognition to the people who inspired you. The more words you use like that, the fewer things the lady reporter will have to change to write her story.
-
It ended with a newspaper reporter talking about how Leti successfully opened up a place for low income tenants. All the residents seemed to be happy, there were even small children playing indoors and outside. Since next episode will probably focus on the elevator and the basement secret lair, we will probably see if the tenants are still happy or if they were slaughtered by their white neighbors.
-
Since there were no other incidents after the 3 white troublemakers died, I am willing to cut the rest of the white neighborhood some slack. You can't chastise someone for not wearing a sealtbelt and dying in a car crash that could have been prevented by wearing a seatbelt, before cars even had seatbelts. If we continue to judge everybody from the past through our "woke" lense of today, nobody is going to pass, especially if we find one viewpoint that isn't the same as ours, their whole life is considered a "fail".
-
The neighbors' silence is complacence. Why sleep through nights of those horns unless you supported what they were doing. Not necessarily, who is to say that the other neighbors didn't complain to the police, same as Leti did. If the police refuse to do anything about it, it would be difficult or dangerous to do something on your own. Most people are not that bold.

Season 2 airs in November will be 7 episodes long.

Sorry, thought they showed him ripping them off and her reacting to that.

That is a great theory except for the fact that nobody, including multi-billion dollar companies have ever successfully downloaded anyone's memory into a clone.

[Pilot] Powerpuff (aka The Powerpuff Girls)
AnimeMania replied to Primal Slayer's topic in Pilots & In Development Shows
It is not that hard, give them the right hair and dress color and make one sweet, one smart and one tough and give all of them the ability to fly and have superpowers and live in Townsville. -
I didn't like this episode, way too many potential threats that never seemed to materialize into a menacing outcome. I was waiting for something to happen and it didn't. Here are few of the many potential threats that happened: White people watch the house and harass the black occupants with signs and burning crosses. Here is an real life article about how that might actually manifest. The Lovecraft Country House Attack Sequence Evoked the 1951 Cicero Race Riots Ghosts interacting with the living leaves you with cold feet. Bear trap on the floor already sprung. I think by this time they are actually trolling me. Furnaces about to blow get turned off without incident. Black Woman wearing a short dress and no underwear alone in the back of a paddy wagon with a racist male Police Officer, the result she get arrested and released. Leti just happened to purchase the house of a serial murder who did gruesome experiments on his victims in his secret basement dungeon. Evil spirits contacted through a Ouija Board. Voodoo practices which leaves a dead goat on your doorstep. The only satisfying threat that was fulfilled was the malfunctioning elevator. I hate to say it but I would have to agree with the white neighbors, I wouldn't want a large number of poor, underemployed, young, mixed gender people moving into a house in my neighborhood, regardless of their race. Leti was having wild party in her house on a Sunday Night, did she care that I have to go to work in the morning? Looks like next episode the gang find the secret tunnel under the house, find the missing pages and possibly become Magical Negroes.
