  1. Maybe he knocked up Carina, Amelia en Teddy and he's going to be super dad?
  2. Let's just hope Maggie won't get pregnant and she and Jackson will split up, because that would make family get togethers really awkward.
  3. I liked this episode. Don't like the blonde resident at all, but she did well to prove to Jared that transferring might be the best option. I suppose it speaks to her character (or the writing) that she was so sly about it that I didn't realize she was doing it for that reason (well, and removing competition&being proven right) up until she got chosen over Jared to assist. Unfortunately, that slyness also annoyed me more and not even the reveal made me like her better. Unlike many posters here, I don't think the cop resident ran the background check as a favor to Shaun and/or out of friendship. To me, he comes across as someone so jaded by his previous line of work that he can't possibly fathom people aren't always "bad" - in his mind, a criminal is a criminal and everything they do is done with the purpose of committing a crime. Also, I think he wanted to prove he was right. He was quick to slam Kenny (+gf) as taking advantage of Shaun and then run a background check on him, apparently all on the info of him being a friend (or neighbor?) of Shaun named Kenny. Hmm. A bit shady that he even considers running a background check, that he manages one with so little info and that he (or an old coworker) managed to perform one and he so casually shared the (confidential?) rap sheet with someone else. As for Claire, the moment her mom asked for money she knew what was up. The next scene with her out in the rain, tears in her eyes, confirmed her disappointment with both her mother (for not changing) and herself (for being unable to refuse her) and I don't think she's expecting to see her mom again anytime soon. I really like Claire's character as well as all the crap she's gone/going through so far. She's also a good friend to Shaun and generally good with patients, but also has things she's not so good at. I liked how Shaun decided to ignore the rap sheet and choose to be Kenny's friend. As for Kenny, I genuinely think he's just being a friend. Albeit a bit of an odd one, always entering Shaun's apartment, using his TV and apparently stealing cash to order food. But considering his background, that's probably what friendship is about for Kenny. And it seems like Shaun is deciding not to judge right away and instead giving Kenny a(nother) chance, something cop resident is incapable of. If Kenny really had bad intentions, he probably would have stolen the money and the TV rather than choose to have a meal and play computer games with his alleged victim. I mean, it's not like Shaun gives the impression of being great company, so Kenny probably just likes him for who he is. And the fact that Shaun lost a bet (and therefore had to pay for the amusement park) might seem shady, especially to the cop resident, but if Kenny really was playing him, he probably would have come up with a lame excuse for why Shaun had to pay for the three of them instead of making a supposedly fair bet that Shaun lost.
  4. The "You're your mother's daughter" didn't sound like a compliment. More like, that bitch stole my research (possibly the one Meredith is now continuing) and here you are, "stealing" my polymer! I also thought it odd that Meredith never asked Webber or maybe Bailey or even Koracick(sp?) about the woman before she arrived; they've been doctors for years and are supposedly very knowledgeable/skilled in the medical community and their specialized fields, so might have heard of her.
  5. Was anyone else kinda hoping to see Hannah the paramedic (from the bomb in the body cavity episode ages ago) when they said the first responder had stuck their hand in the victim's body? As for the episode, what a snooze fest! Not even the surgeries appealed to me.
  6. Ah, thanks. I believe the newbie had her thumb on the picture when she pulled it out. Why no one bothered to check it is beyond me, though.
  7. I enjoyed the episode but thought it was odd for Conrad to call Erik's mom and bluntly telling her her son died, when all he knew really was that a phone had been found and it had a couple of messages on it from the owner's mom! After telling the first guy, you'd think he would be more cautious and at the very least check the phone's pictures for a selfie/photographs with John Doe in them or telling the mom a John Doe came in who might be her son and ask her to send a photograph or come down to ID him.
  8. Honestly, she rivaled Ellis being wheeled into the ER yelling and screaming. Of course, Ellis was suffering from Alzheimer's Disease at the time.
  9. You mean when he was correcting the intern who was treating him by telling him to use different materials and then was subsequently told that material was too expensive and that's about all we saw, until Richard showed up at Seattle Grace saving the day by announcing the merger? That episode?
  10. This episode was boring to me. I'm not a big fan of Bailey since around... season 7 or 8, I think. She used to be great, then she became annoying and that has simply continued. Granted, she's been toned down this new season, but the character feels way too Mary Sue to me. One of the reasons I find her annoying is because she's lost the ability to talk like a normal person and instead has developed the habit of shouting/yelling and being all dramatic. She used to be able to say more with a look or a calmly/sarcastically spoken word or sentence. Anyway, while I've heard the whole 'women don't get listened to and/or not taken seriously (especially women of color) by doctors'-spiel plenty of times, her behavior is exactly the reason why she wasn't taken seriously. She was acting hysterically and did not sound like a professional at all. If she'd just calmed down and spoken to the shrink/cardio guy like they were equals, she could have avoided all the drama. Something along the lines of the following would have worked: "Look, we're both doctors and we know heart attacks manifest differently in men than women, and I'm telling you that I'm positive I'm having a heart attack. The fact that I've had OCD for the last couple of years doesn't factor into that. Just order me the stress test and if it's negative, then I'll tell you all about my super hectic life and why the resulting stress might be affecting me today. Or would you rather I, the first female Afro-American Chief of Surgery, die here in your ER? Because I can tell you what your PR consultant would say about that. So, how about it? You gonna get me that stress test or do I need to call my own head of Cardio as well as the media?" On another note, I'd really like to see a medical emergency with one/multiple of the main characters in a different hospital and them receiving proper treatment. Maybe even be impressed by how well the situation was handled and/or someone learning a new/different method or something like that. The only somewhat similar situation I can recall would be when Cristina went to Mayo and learned from the Old Doctor who died in his OR.
  11. That makes no sense. It's like saying he should have considered the possibility that she regularly took a cup of the chemical for breakfast. If it's not supposed to be used in perfume making, then why should someone consider they used it to make perfume! She only told them she was a schoolteacher (not a chemistry teacher or anything like that), didn't think to mention that she made perfume as a hobby/side business and denied ever hearing of the chemical when she was asked. I won't deny her withholding the truth (for fear of her brother getting fired) is a ridiculous plot device, but she was asked about the chemical and denied knowing about it and/or coming into contact with it. The doctors made it clear there were 2 courses of treatment and that one would kill her if the cause wasn't what they thought it was. No one would think she'd put her own life at risk just to conceal the fact she's been making perfume.
  12. Maybe it's not supposed to be used to make perfume and that's why the patient got sick?
  13. I'm confused as to why the patient who was pretending to be asleep while Claire got harassed (the second time) isn't mentioned at all? I mean, she'd probably come forward to tell what she overheard if her conversation with Claire in that episode is anything to go on. Why go looking for other women who worked with him and got harassed when you've got an eye (ear) witness?
  14. What if the Strucker siblings had simply refused to "hold hands"? The scientist would have killed Blink, too? And then what... no more leverage? It's such a stupid plot that's overused in shows. It's not like the Struckers are that close to Dreamer or Blink.
  15. I'm doing a rewatch and just saw Walk On Water (3x15) and how awesome would it be if we see the grown-up version of the little girl (who was with Meredith when she was knocked into the water) show up at the hospital? Maybe she's also a new intern, inspired by what she witnessed that day and helping Meredith treat that patient. I know the new interns have already been picked but she could be like Alex back in the day, showing up late for some reason or another. Meredith could be the girl's role model and it would make the interns interesting again, especially if we see the girl strive yet struggle when something pops up reminding her of the ferry boat accident.
  16. Same here! It reminded me of when Burke picked George as his guy, something about picking on the weakest so the others [interns] would fall in line. This! But also, didn't Webber reel Hunt in because of his intro as the trauma surgeon who did things the old-fashioned way because in war there's no such things as fancy medical tools and equipment etc? The interns (or were they residents at that time?) all had to go through tough training by Dr Owen "the drill sergeant" Hunt to learn and re-familiarize themselves with "simplistic" and "basic" medical stuff in the event of power outages or running out of fancy stuff. Now Hunt was the one complaining about the CT scan (or MRI, whatever). Also, remember how the interns were all fascinated by Webber's old-school surgery skills, with him performing with his eyes closed (in the skill lab) and I think also later in surgeries teaching them how to listen to certain things and feel their way around etc.? Brooke, I think.
  17. Don't bother: Italian woman and Owen were talking, next scene Arizona and DeLuca walk in on them making out; the new interns are a bunch of the ones who were interviewed (and ridiculed) by Webber and Bailey a few eps back and just showed up; the girl accused of following DeLuca is an intern, all we saw of their previous interactions is them staring at each other in shock when they came across each other.
  18. Enjoyable episode. Didn't realize this was a special ep, so was pleasantly surprised. One thing really bothered me though: I haven't seen Alex happy the way he was smiling at FakeIzzie and her baby and later fantasizing about Izzie's current life in years! I'd forgotten the actor could pull off more than grumpy and sulky with the occasional smile and joke. I'm no fan of Jo and the way he was acting around FakeIzzie all episode, made me think that they were going to break up Alex and Jo (especially after her vehement denial about kids, which was in contrast to his behavior), so I'm a little surprised with how they ended that. Alex seemed happier thinking of Izzie than I've ever seen him with Jo... Not saying he should go back to Izzie (totally went off her after the whole Denny/tumor thing) or shack up with Mer, but I definitely feel like he deserves better.
  19. You're welcome. Took a screenshot of it, could't get it any clearer than this unfortunately. As for the whole sawblades thing, I figured Polaris was doing that because inexperienced mutants' powers seem to get activated in fear or anger. Well, that and she's a little extreme. But you can bet Sentinel Services won't be giving the mutants an easy time when they come face to face with them, so sawblades seem like a good way to train to me. Polaris would probably prevent them from actually hurting them in case a mutant fails to use their powers to stop her. Probably.
  20. Am I the only one who's wondering how the hell the halfway house/counseler got away scot-free? I was expecting a great courtroom case after they made such a big deal out of the rehab facility having guardianship (or whatever it's called) over all their patients because the parents all temporarily transfer their parental rights to the clinic. Therefore, the rehab/clinic is responsible for the well being of these minors who they transfer to a halfway house where they're taken advantage of/being drugged. If the parents didn't have any parental rights during their daughter's stay in the clinic, which apparently includes the brief time at the halfway house, then the clinic or the halfway house (if they temporarily transfer their given parental rights to the hh) have parental rights over these minors. That really complicates the whole drugging and raping these girls. Because not only is their counselor in a position of power and trust while they are under their supervision but they might even have parental rights. So, either way the clinic and the halfway house and the pervy counselor should be in big trouble...
  21. Reed with three others, presumably the person whose chambers they were breaking into and some other lawyers/judges.
  22. Well, that was 40 minutes of my life I'll never get back. What a boring episode! I don't care much about Owen, never mind his sister or the kid (fluent in English) she raised. I don't even want to get into all the military stuff they got wrong or how strange it is for Megan/anyone to leave their kid with Riggs who doesn't even know him nor has any experience with children, let alone traumatized refugee children. I did kinda like Mer and Riggs together, but if he has to go then fine. Wish he'd taken Owen and Amelia and Maggie with him.
  23. The show's already used a lot of predictable plots and cliches, so it's probably both: an accident which triggered her powers and caused a/multiple death(s).
  24. Just remembered something I would have liked to see: a comparison between the new interns and the current doctors as interns. Considering Richard was chief at the time (and we all know the chief is the boss of the whole hospital in Grey's universe and decides everything, even HR matters) he was probably involved in the selection of interns way back. Sure, some doctors came over from Mercy West and others were already fully qualified surgeons/specialists, but he could've referred to MAGIC and even Bailey. Clips aren't feasible but he or Bailey could have said something along the lines of "yeah, but do you remember how we felt about Kerev?" or "well, that was nothing compared to Yang" etc.
  25. I enjoyed the episode, although I wouldn't have minded the Amelia thing to be divided into two episodes but only because there was too much Amelia(-related stuff) in this one for me. The surgery also seemed over very quickly, almost thought that when we went to the black screen that they were discussing what to do while she was in surgery and was coming out of her anesthesia because they tried to keep it as light as possible due to her addiction issues. I really liked the part where Meredith was explaining the steps to the others though. I saw someone else comment about how the other characters should have known about it, but as far as I can recall, only Meredith, Lexie and Stephanie did a long stint in neuro and almost specialized in it. So, to me it made sense. Could have done without the Amelia voice-over through her recovery, although I suspect that's just because of my dislike for the character. I was kind of excited about the idea of her never regaining her voice and thus would either have to continue being a successful neurosurgeon who couldn't talk (no more whining!) or have to leave the profession because she couldn't talk/didn't recover well. The part about Meredith's entry for the Harper Avery award seemed strange considering the Cristina thing, but maybe she thinks there's a better chance now that Harper Avery himself is dead? The request for photos was ridiculous though. Even if that was a thing for medical journals, I doubt they'd want glamour shots. Why couldn't Jo (and Mer) just submit a photograph of herself in scrubs, with a cap and mouth-thingy? Unlikely her husband would recognize her that way, especially if he's not even looking for her in the medical world. Don't care about Jo and her relationship with Alex. If she's so afraid of her husband, then maybe she should have just, oh I don't know, divorced him before going into hiding. Never liked the character, never will. Just badly written/conceived and acted. I'm probably in the minority but I've grown to like Mer and Riggs together and I think the way they worked together to bring Megan's "son" to the US, just shows how well they fit together. He knew Meredith would play along and her reaction to seeing him with the boy and later everyone in Megan's room, told me her feelings for Riggs go beyond what she claims they are. But maybe I'm wrong/TPTB won't continue their possible romance. Still hate Maggie. Didn't care for her story or her non-existent chemistry with Jackson. Thought it was extremely rude, inconsiderate and self-absorbed of her to gulp away the wine in quick succession and loudly ask for more several times from her (biological) father/stepmother when her (biological) father is a recovering alcoholic. But then that sort of fits with how I see her. It's all about Maggie. No wonder Avery is supposedly interested in her, April is all about herself as well. Begging/pleading with God to "not make me pull the plug" rather than for Amelia to come through the operation successfully? So selfish. It's all about how the outcome affects her, rather than her alleged friend's (or at least coworker she knows well) well-being. I think that was all.... still don't like Owen, don't care about his sister or his marriage. He, Amelia, Megan and Farouk can all go away, leave for Iraq or something to start a new life and help wounded civilians/military personnel or something. Oh and Bailey and her husband are boring too. Interns sucked. Why were they not legally allowed to ask about the dog? If that's because it's an emotional support dog, then maybe the interviewee should have told them its status beforehand, so they knew they couldn't ask more. How else are they supposed to know? Also, I don't know about Seattle/the US, but in my country specially trained dogs (like guiding dogs and emotional support dogs) have to be registered or they are simply considered regular pets and therefore wouldn't be allowed in a hospital (and an emotional support dog would be trained not to jump on the table).
