  1. I felt the way he spoke to her and the way he phrased his words were condescending as heck. But then I've always thought he was bad at communicating in a relationship/marriage (not that Amelia is any better). His "that concerns me" could by an emotionally unstable Amelia easily be interpreted as 'OMG my family and person don't like you and that worries me' rather than him expressing his concern over the different side of herself she's showed lately (since his family and person arrived). If he'd said something along the lines of the following, it would have been a lot more mature and understanding: "I know I've been preoccupied with Megan, but I feel like we've barely seen each other. How are you, are you feeling okay? Is this... too much? I mean, because of Derek?" Then she could have told him that no, she's not okay and yes, it hurts because of Derek but she's also really happy for [Owen] and Megan and she's sorry that she hasn't been in to see/support them more and that she'd like to get to know his family, but right now that might be too hard on her. They could actually, you know, talk and maybe then he could suggest her getting some professional help, like therapy and maybe leave the medication out of the conversation for now unless she says something like suffering from insomnia or whatever (but mentioning any kind of medication, especially mood stabilizers, might not be the best idea right off the bat, especially not to a recovering drug addict who clearly has mental issues).
  2. I have an intense dislike for Amelia, but I agree with the above. Amelia's working and she has a big case, she already took off weeks (?) to avoid Owen last season so it's unlikely she'd be able to get even more time off. Not to mention that their marriage is and has been on the rocks for a long time now, so while she was supportive when she found out about Owen's sister last season, it's not strange that she's now keeping her distance. She went with him to the airport and visited once in the hospital, but obviously didn't feel comfortable enough to visit more often. Not surprising considering Teddy's behavior towards Owen (I like Teddy, but not her and Owen and she's way too touchy-feely with him) or the fact that Owen's sister just came back from the dead when Amelia is still trying to cope with her brother's death. And she doesn't even know Megan, Teddy and barely knows Riggs or Owen's mother, so how much fun would it have been to hang out? But what bothered me most about this situation, including Owen's accusations of her needing meds and therapy because the women in his life don't like her, is that apparently Amelia is the most horrible partner ever for not supporting Owen, while Mama Hunt's toyboy gets a free pass! Um, the woman's daughter who she's thought was dead for over a decade has returned from being held hostage in Iraq and her son's marriage is on the rocks, but I guess the toyboy doesn't need to be there to support Mama Hunt and has other fires to put out.
  3. I thought that was odd but then saw them looking at the crowd as they cheered and applauded Deacon, so figured that would be their "Aha!"-moment and finally understand what making music is really about for these artists... except that didn't happen, so I'm confused too.
  4. I can somewhat understand the artists' reactions to demands to change their lyrics. But I think they're forgetting it's for a commercial, not their music video. Of course, the demanded change was awful (clearly these people are not songwriters), but if they'd just discussed it I'm sure they could have come to a compromise to include the mascara or whatever. Also, Deacon is a dumbass for apparently not reading the contracts he signs. "Oh, that's not how you pitched it!". Because clearly Zach made millions by being such an upstanding and honest guy... The whole "that's not what Rayna/mom wanted for the label" was annoying too. Did they all forget that it was Rayne who "sold out" first by changing the lyrics to a song she and Deacon wrote ages ago for that shampoo/perfume/whatever commercial she did before she and Deacon got together? He threw a hissy-fit back then too when she asked him if he was okay with it, but that was mostly due to their relationship at the time and eventually he was like "okay, change it whatever you want, I'm fine with it". Also, I don't know why anyone would want Maddie in their commercial. I was expecting the producer guy to keep yelling at her because despite his directions, her facial expressions barely seemed to change? She just looked bored, no passion or emotion whatsoever. They should drop Summer Roberts whose name I keep forgetting. She's awful at her job. Also, why was Maddie's agent not with her but the record label's PR person? And how inappropriate was her behavior at that afterparty? First just ditching the client who's demanding changes after chugging down some kind of cocktail to rush off to 'help' her artist by chanting her name to encourage her to sing and then be like, 'oh no her throat's sore' and to go up to the stage, drink another cocktail and sing a song herself? I'm also annoyed with Deacon and his new girl. She was being totally out of line kidnapping him like that, even if it was what he needed. She could have just talked to him and suggested they go away for a moment to let him catch his breath. I guess that's just TV drama. But Deacon should withdraw from Highway 65 and get Bucky to take his place, because he sucks at the job. So tired and whatnot, even though Rayna did all that, recorded new music and even toured and he's exhausted from just sitting at a desk all day and to escape he's gonna help his new girl record music using their $$$ and space, while she's not even signed to the label. Just get them together already or postpone the whole relationship. It's so cliche.
  5. Am I the only one who immediately thought the guy was a rapist when the doctors were talking about the great/inappropriate sex the patient they were taking care of must have had? And then the patient woke up and first thing she asked was if she killed the guy, not if he was still alive or hurt. Thought it was very predictable, them talking about letting the 'boyfriend' see her against the rules was another give away. The whole Owen thing was boring to me, but then I'm not a big fan. After ten years he learns his sister is actually still alive and instead of being overcome with joy/relief/happiness and being an actual adult by informing his relatives (and yes, parent trumps sibling) and Riggs, he's being his incredibly aggressive and rude self again. The guy has issues. If anyone needs to see a counselor, it's him, not Stephanie. Considering the way Minnick has been acting with ordering doctors/attendings around, I'm surprised she didn't order Owen to get therapy. Stephanie was so idiotic. Also, how come those sprinklers didn't go off? I was expecting them to go off, for her to grab the girl and open the door (since she said that would unlock it) rather than hide in the next room. Pretty much in agreement with everyone else here about the whole thing. I figured Stephanie went to the burning rapist to get him away from the (in)conveniently placed gas tanks, but no idea how she was planning on actually moving him because using a blanket (which there were none, apparently) or her coat wouldn't work when he's covered in alcohol. She should have just kicked him down the stairs or grabbed him a little higher than his waist and aggravate his injury... A shame Minnick and Maggie weren't anywhere near the explosion, could have done without them. Oh, and where the heck were all the cameras in the hospital? You know, the ones that filmed Warren with that patient near the elevators and everything. Security could have easily located the rapist/Stephanie by checking CCTV. Webber would have known that and would have initiated the lockdown right away rather than wait around like Bailey did. She's not right as chief. The security guys won't even listen to her; she told them there should be 2 officers watching the patient all times and the moment she walks off to activate the lockdown, all of them follow her!
