  1. Just curious - was that before or after the recent "changing of the guards" (earlier this year)? There was a new "politics policy" posted a few weeks ago, and I pm'd for clarification because I really couldn't tell what was different from the previous rules, and the response indicated (I hope it's okay to quote a pm here): But that seems to be related to what's happening in shows. The example I asked about was a meme with a politician but in a non-political situation - think Bernie in his mittens at the Inauguration, photoshopped into various tv-show-related situations. (That got slapped down in the old days.) I don't know what the policy would be if you posted about politics-related person in say, Milestone Moments or something like that.
  2. Okay, got it. Come to think of it, my son may have had something like that at one point in his life.
  3. I'm intrigued by this. Can you share more about what it is and how he made it? editing to add: That was a serious question but I see I’m getting laughing reactions. Was Peaches making a joke that went over my head?
  4. When they said minus 140 degrees, that sounded unthinkable (don’t really care if it was Fahrenheit or Celsius) but apparently it wasn’t that big a deal?
  5. I can only hope that as soon as production ended, he just got everything shaved off and let it grow back. That actually seemed like the least objectionable task for me.
  6. Oh we cross posted. Looks like there’s a game forum in a couple different places in the Beyond TV Shows area - one in Pop Culture and one in Interests & Hobbies. So I guess if anyone wants to start threads for the other NYT games, we should put them in the forum where Wordle already is.
  7. Haha, I guess this can relate back to Jeopardy! because (I’ll try to remember to remove the spoiler tag tomorrow.) Edit: because of the great Barry/Berry controversy. Can't seem to un-spoiler the existing text. I haven’t seen threads here for Connections, Wordle, Strands, etc. but I don’t see why someone couldn’t start them here: https://forums.primetimer.com/forum/293-fun-n-games/ As for spoiler rules, I’d say once it’s the new day everywhere in the world, then yesterday’s puzzle is fair game.
  8. But please report back on what kind of popup ads you’re getting.
  9. I just watched this one. I thought Marilyn's remark was related to their discussion earlier in the episode about how Joel was not white, he was Jewish. But now I remember the adoption into the tribe, and it could be that, too.
  10. I had forgotten about Anthony Edwards' arc here - just got to this point in my rewatch. What a loon, right? He thinks masks and gloves help protect him from germs, grows his own food, and worries about stuff like toxic chemicals, oil spills, and something called, global warming? Where'd they find this nutjob? /s And I only just put together that when he went on to be an ER doc, Holling was his father! Someone will have to explain to me about Alaska's weather and/or holiday schedule. In the Thanksgiving episode, everyone's walking around in light jackets and harvesting crops from the garden. Wouldn't they be dealing with wintery weather and limited daylight by that point in the year?
  11. Week 33: 1/5, no *. Ironically, the Hindenburg kept me from crashing & burning. (Too soon?)
  12. Ohmygosh, that was way too stressful for me! The only thing worse than (some of) the tasks was the worry that the right number of people would complete them! Remind me if I ever end up on this show, to take the cash in episode one and run!
  13. I didn’t even think of that possibility! Could be, but I just took it at face value, since the show has made so much about how important delicious scents are to the ghosts.
  14. LOL at Julia regretting wearing that dress for the museum heist mission. But really, is there any mission where that dress wouldn’t have given your fellow contestants “dinner and a show”? And I had to wonder about the rules - seems like they would have benefited by removing jackets, loose tops, wigs, whatever, to better avoid the lasers.
  15. Peacock US 25-April-2024

  17. I do question that Pete had never heard of the guys on the street signs (Barack Obama and a sports person I’m drawing a blank on, sorry!) - surely during all their tv watching, someone would have opted for news, and sports. But I’ll give them a pass since it was otherwise a fun episode.
  18. The couple he first met (tv box woman and broken glasses guy) were trampled in a Black Friday sale. I didn’t quite catch the backstory on the scary gang though. If there was one.
  19. LOL - there's a site that aggregates daily comics that I check once in a while when I don't "get" a comic in my paper. It allows comments, and most of them are nice, but whew boy, there's a small percent that are 1000% meaner than the worst I've seen here! Nasty, personal & political attacks, deliberate spoilers, you name it. But it's okay, because you can't cuss ;-)
  20. Okay, so when the FJ! category of Historic Transports came up, was I the only one who preguessed The Edmund Fitzgerald?
  21. Just as a data point of one, I have YouTubeTV and its DVR feature has no problem picking up all the shows. But it does have a way to "report a problem". Is there a way to do that with your DVR provider?
  22. I heard him in an interview or maybe as a podcast guest a while back, where he explained that his last name is correctly pronounced es-POS-ito. Never heard it said that way anywhere else. He's a great actor and fascinating person, and I don't want to dismiss someone's thoughts of possible self-harm, but part of me wonders if he's, how do you say, "messing with us"?
  23. I think the point of the original complaint (substantiated by the quote from site rules, above) was that it shouldn’t be discussed in a thread for an earlier episode. There are definitely other threads where it’s fair game to discuss.
  24. Timely reminder. And further, if you don't know how to edit a post, you may also not realize there's a way to hide spoilers (either when posting originally or when editing). Highlight the portion of the text you want to hide, then click the "eyeball" icon at the top of the text window: And (editing to add), if you have a spoiler in your post, please say what it's a spoiler for. Nothing is more frustrating than a spoiler box sitting there with no explanation. Is it a spoiler for a different show or movie that you think has a similar theme? For something you read in an interview or news article that addresses future episodes?
