  1. True. Why do they insist on repeating the very same mistakes that made Laurel an unlikable character (in my books), I have no idea. The sad thing is, I like Felicity because I could relate to her - the choices her character made were most of the time the choices I would make in her place. Yet in the last episode, I found it difficult to relate. And from what I'm reading about the future episodes, the trend will continue. I really need a female character I can relate to on a show like this - and they're taking away my proxy. I hope they have a good justification for the incoming actions, because frankly - nothing fits.
  2. The thing is, once Oliver is back and is vocal about the fact that Laurel should not be in the field (+1 from me!), all hell can break loose. From what I see, Roy will be voting for Laurel. Dig - I really don't know, he's not constant with this. Felicity? An episode before I'd say she'd back Oliver up. Now? I think this will be the obstacle between Oliver and Felicity - or the catalyst that will cause a rift. Felicity will want Laurel to keep on fighting (it's her life, it's her choices) and she does take badly to any instances of Oliver trying to control her - so she may over-react. btw, in the Canadian promo, is Laurel actually calling the Arrow in his suit "Ollie"?... I get it, she's shocked. But as Caitlin Snow would say "secret identity!" (True, everybody and their mother / sans Thea / know that Oliver Queen is the Arrow, but that's not the point.) Also, I'm hoping for Oliver's grand entry into the battle. And saving either Roy, Laurel or Dig in the process. Just a big damn hero moment. Please?
  3. I'm wondering who are all these people in the Uprising trailer - you know, the crowd that goes with Arsenal and Laurel to fight Brick?... Just like in The Dark Knight Rises? Are they Glades' residents? Cops in plain clothes? And why are they rushing in like that, stampede style? Wouldn't it be, I don't know, wiser to use some kind of startegy? Guerilla warfare maybe?... And yes, I dread the dialogues with the Team after Oliver's return: "It's good that you're less dead now, but we don't want your micro-management, Oliver. Get back in line. Let Laurel can handle herself... most of the time... often. OK, she handled herself ONCE. But that's not bad, right?"
  4. I'm ok with the lunge if it's Roy and Laurel. Come on, the wedding photos put them together and they look great!
  5. Speculation: Perhaps Maseo became Sarab to get closer to a mysterious cure for all illnesses including death, because Akio got killed by ARGUS. In the end it turned out the cure (used by Ra's himself quite frequently) could only bring back recently dead people, and Akio has been dead for a year or so. Thus, Maseo and Tatsu got the cure, but didn't get their son back. Hence the rift between them... and the extra strong penicilin.
  6. Yes, the heart condition was mentioned: Felicity: How's your heart? Quentin: Still beating. (Me: Damn!) It's terrible how this grown-up, competent man is being treated like a helpless child. The way things are going, Quentin will probably kick the bucket soon, but not because Laurel told him the truth (after all, if Laurel is the cause of Quentin's death, she will be even more hated). I'm guessing he'll catch a stray bullet and then Laurel will be all "But Dad, you can't die! I haven't told you about Sara yet!" --- Side note on the dream scene: Oliver Queen the playboy of Starling City is an insanely chaste kisser in his dreams. It's kind of endearing, really. --- @ Tatsu's penicilin - Oliver himself remarked that this penicilin is awfully strong, so I'm betting it has an extra juice.
  7. I need to confess: watching Arrow has always been a sort of a ritual for me. I used to sit down with a cup of tea / coffee / hot chocolate and watch the whole episode in one go. Sometimes re-watch some bits. This was the first episode I actually did something else while watching. An end of an era. Arrow has officially went from a must-watch tv to a background tv. If the only interesting bits in the episode are flashbacks and talking scenes between one half-dead guy and and estranded married couple, then you know something went wrong... Some other things: - Laurel's stunt with helicopter ladder should have resulted in dislocated shoulder or two. - Starling City has the dumbest mayor ever - My heart broke for Quentine so many times I can't even find some pieces. - the Douche DJ being a spy may actually turn out good - as long as Thea just kicks him off the balcony - Roy talking to Malcolm was a nice scene, and Colton played it well (surprise!). He was trying to be tough, but felt a bit intimidated. I bet Malcolm would intimidate Ra's himself (especially this Ra's). That would be a very intimidated Ra's killing Merlyn in the end. A bit unsure of himself and his people Ra's. Because Malcolm just rolls like this. - Laurel... you big crybaby. It's a cut! (Hope you had your tenatus shot). It's not like you had your gut pierced by a sword or soemthing. Or, I don't know, three arrows. Walk it off. (Just don't strut, it doesn't become you) In Felicity's defense: the voice modulator that imitated Sara was, esentially, used to fool Quentin, but it was Laurel who took it to the next level with showing herself to her father. It's one thing to pretend to be someone in order to get info (which was stupid in its own right, because why would Quentin not talk about the pacemaker to Laurel?*), and another to play dress-up. Wasn't Laurel afraid her father would get a heart attack on seeing Sara? I can't wait to have Oliver back, even though I know the show will screw this up by introducing complex and convoluted reasons for everyone to act like 12-year olds with emotional problems. The dream scene - well done show: having an Olicity kiss and not having it at the same time. A true tumblr gif fodder. * perhaps Quentin would not talk to Laurel about some things, because he suspects she would do stupid things. And he's trying to protect her from herself. Also, she may not be his favourite daughter and I cannot blame him.
  8. Maybe because a large chunk of the fanbase considers her story arc just that...
  9. I think Sue may be adopted in this version, as the actor who plays Dr Storm, the father, is Afro-American. I'd love to see Nicole Beharie as Sue. She'd kick it out of the park.
  10. And the stroke of questionable casting choices continues with Fantastic 4 remake. Really? This is your Mr. Fantastic? Really?... I didn't like the first version, but... This one does not look much better. Ok, the effects seem nice.
  11. Krysten Ritter will permanently be a typecasted in my mind as a wacky friend of the main character. I'm sorry, but there are some actors that I won't find believable in leading roles, reragdless of how talented they are.
  12. Brick wouldn't be holding the city hostage of Moira was the major. She would have neutralized him before he could even think of taking the Glades. A little bitter note on the side: I'm really angry we didn;t get any Thea/Oliver domestic scenes like cooking... Or a housewarming party. I know, the kitchen-sink-convos are considered boring... but they're not if done right!
  13. Word. Why would Laurel ask Nyssa if she should tell her father about Sara? Nyssa has stated once what she thinks on the matter. Why would her opinion change? But if Laurel wants to train with Nyssa - let her go. Ra's does not take kindly to Lance girls training with his daughter, perhaps an accident would be arranged. Unless we'll have a plot like this: Oliver faces Ra's again and this time wins, kills Ra's and gives the LoA to Nyssa. But why would Nyssa want to train Laurel? Maybe Nyssa is the Love Interest Laurel would get? That would be distrespectfull to both Sara and Nyssa.
  14. ...And cue a song by ABBA.
  15. It'll probably all depend on the nature of the dream / nightmare: if Oliver sees himself happy with Felicity and then LoA arrives to kill her because he tricked Ra's and now his beloved must pay, I can see him not wanting to get back or even signal home about his survival. And if he's explaining to Felicity that they can't be together because he had a dream - I can see her being mad at him.
  16. Perhaps the DJ Douche is just an informant, or a LoA trainee? I mean to be a full-fledged LoA member one needs to know at least how to use a shampoo... As for the cell reception and Oliver not calling home - I'm thinking Maseo will not tell Oliver that he can do that for the whole episode, to "protect him"... or himself. Hey, maybe the LoA monitors all calls? That one thing, another - Oliver getting over-excited about his survival may hinder his recovery (high blood pressure etc. ;)) Maseo may be doing to Oliver what Oliver has been doing to other people under his care - being over-protective. And in the end it'll be Tatsu who'll tell her husband to let go and let the white boy leave - that's when Maseo tells Oliver his city's in trouble. Or maybe I'm all wrong and Oliver doesn't want to contact anyone, becuse he thinks they're better off without him - and that's when Maseo plays the "city's in trouble" card. Oliver can get depressive at times, so him being down - especially after having a nightmare involving Felicity killed by LoA / Ra's / Oliver himself.
  17. To be honest, the window Oliver tried to go through was probably made of toughtened glass, while the window Laurel jumps through looks much more fragile. Still, it's kind of riddiculous to just jump through the window OUTSIDE. It's just a stupid move, regardless of who's doing it.
  18. It's almost obvious that Brick or one of his close associates killed Rebecca Merlyn. And Oliver will probably return just in time to stop Malcolm from killing Brick (no-kill rule!), thus earning a death-stare from everyone involved.
  19. If they go with an actress I strongly suggest Tatiana Maslany!
  20. And my mind went to Christian Kane (ok, he's 5'7 and probably a lot less hairy, but...). His Leverage character was, in many aspects, a Wolverine expy sans the claws. And boy, were women swooning! (And they still are...) Fully agree on Jean - Mary Sue - Grey. Of the X-Women I loved the original Rogue (not the movie version, never!) and Psylocke (again, never the movie version). I wish they'd do them justice.
  21. In this regard they are (well, 80% of the fandom, give or take). But the story will probably introduce the problem - Laurel inept in her fighting, - confront the problem with fandom reaction - no training, she is not her sister, - and conclude that it doesn't matter, because Laurel has a big heart. She'll save Roy's life, she'll convince Diggle and the boys will welcome her to the team. "See, fandom? We addressed your fears and came to the conclusion they are ungrounded. Yes, we know she's untrained. Yes, we know she's mimicing her sister - wait for 3.13!" At least when Supernatural mocks its fans, it's funny. Sort of.
  22. Which makes me think they've added those scenes later. But that's fine with me, as long as I have Oliver on-screen.
  23. I'm probably that one person on the planet that finds Sophie Turner bland. But then again, I also find Jean Grey bland and a damsel, so there's that. Not impressed with Cyclops casting and Storm actress is similar to young Cravitz from X-Men First Class. (But from the X-Men franchise I only admire both Magnetos, both Xaviers, the older Mystique and Wolverine, with a side of the younger Beast - I am terribly picky)
  24. I wonder if the scenes with Oliver waking up in the present were planned from the start or were they added later because of the outcry... Guess I'll never know. I'm surprised: I liked Laurel this episode, I really did. More of that version of Laurel, please. See, show? It wasn't that hard. Now, couldn't you have done that earlier? I understand Felicity all the way - she's at the stage where she won't lose anyone else, full-stop. What I didn't understand was how come they still believe Malcolm. Come on, Team Arrow! Push the guy, learn about the secret dueling ground, go there and search for the body! You give up so easy, TA. So easy. Liked the Hong-Kong flashback (the window that just wouldn't break...) but i guess I'll take whatever Oliver I can right now.
  25. Ok, so Midnight City is the episode when Ray gets to fight some bad guys, right? (refered to here: https://twitter.com/Loli_2807/status/532338022818148352/photo/1 ) http://gatv.ksitetvcom.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/gallery/midnight-city/AR311B_0424b.jpg
