  1. I can still get the candy! The truffle candy is at Waitrose in Dubai. LOL. Skinny can also mean giving the details/events of what happened. So, instead of saying, “Hey, what happened?”, you could say, “Give me the skinny on what went down.”
  2. Yeah, the Instagram filters used also help a lot. I see a lot of smoothing going on.
  3. I had to agree. I think Sandy would have preferred not to have Hannah back at all but alas, she isn’t production so she doesn’t get to make casting decisions. So, her thought is that if she is stuck with Hannah then she is going to make her miserable the entire time she is there. She knows that Casey was incapacitated the first charter. She saw first hand that Casey lacks basic knowledge (seriously can’t even run a vacuum correctly). And like someone else pointed out, a lot of her complaints had to do with Adam not being able to turn around 7 different orders in under 10 min. There is 1 chef and only 1 stove. He can only work so fast. This isn’t a restaurant with line cooks. She’s just going after Hannah (I also wonder if she is one of those women that don’t like other women because they view them as threats). I forget who asked but shoes can totally leave dark marks on carpet. That carpet was a very light cream. I used to have cream carpets in my old house and I hated them. I had to shampoo them at least every month because of the amount of crap. A huge problem was also whenever the shoes were wet (which they would be if they went out on deck) because it would leave not only dirt marks but a dark grey water mark on the cream carpets. Ripped those carpets out and put down wood after 4 years of dealing with the insanity. On the Hannah and the provisioning, Hannah said they had less than 24 hours for turnaround on a lot of these charters so the provisioning has to be done while one charter is going. It seems like she usually did them at night after the guests went to sleep but she couldn’t do it that night because of how late she was up having to clean the carpets. So, if they wanted the provisions then it had to be done at breakfast—when they had 2 stews there to take care of it. I don’t think Hannah was normally helping out with breakfast since she was on lates.
  4. Nessie at least comes up every once in awhile to be seen and prove that she really exists unlike Sonja’s business sense. *Disclaimer: I don’t really believe in the Loch Ness Monster but I believe in it a hell of a lot more than Sonja’s business sense.
  5. If she had carefully curated a cohesive collection of classic, sophisticated clothes at affordable prices then I think it could have actually worked. Instead, it is just a mish-mash of WTF-ery. Think Reese Witherspoon with Draper James. Very carefully curated aesthetic going on. It is a cohesive collection that makes sense. Yes, it is a very specific type of taste that will shop there but hey, it is working. She would do much better to find her specific aesthetic and build the site around that. Not just whatever she was able to get out of the dumpster sale.
  6. I just quickly looked through. Two of the brands that she is selling are Macy’s in-house brands, if I remember correctly (INC and Style & Co). It does indeed seem like she is doing a TJ Maxx-type retailer but not even for the UES crowd. UES crowd isn’t buying in-house Macy’s brands. There are outlets for designer brands (Carolina Herrera, Oscar de la Renta, etc) and Saks has their own outlet (Off Fifth) that would be closer to what the UES crowd would wear. She is just straight up TJ Maxx/Marshall’s.
  7. Yes, they are fashionable. I believe it was Gucci (I seriously hate Gucci) that started it about 2 years ago.
  8. Carole treats her relationship with Adam the same way that Tinsley treats her relationship with Scott. Scary stalker in middle school. Neither one has any chill when it comes to the guys.
  9. LOL. Dubai (well, most of the Middle East, really) gives you the “Ma’amsir”. The service staff (usually Filipino) combine it as one word and you get it no matter what your gender is.
  10. No, Dubai isn’t particularly picky but Burj Al Arab is. They aren’t going to comp the rooms for D-list. I’m suspecting someone else paid for the vacation. As far as Paris and Lindsey... From what I’ve always heard, they were here as part of the yachting group (i.e., high price hookers).
  11. I seriously doubt that their rooms at the Burj al Arab were comped. The Burj al Arab is an ultra-exclusive hotel and is owned by the Jumeirah Group (which is owned by Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum—the ruler of Dubai). This hotel is regularly frequented by legit celebrities (Bieber just stayed there a month or so ago when he did a concert in Dubai). You can’t even get onto the property of the hotel (it is on its own island) without a room or dining reservation. Trust me, they would actually probably prefer that the Bravolebrities did NOT stay there (which is probably why the RHOBH trip stayed at the Atlantis The Palm instead of one of the Jumeirah Group hotels).
  12. I don’t think though that the negative comments were public. Bethenny went up and said to Carole that she felt like he was an operator. She didn’t say it to Page Six a la Sonja. No clue on the divorce. Maybe it is contentious? Bethenny’s took YEARS. Bethenny said that she invited Dorinda because she was the only one that really asked about how the trips changed her, made her feel. That it was more personal and Dorinda seemed genuinely interested so she felt like Dorinda would enjoy the trip more than the others. From what I’ve read, the friendship fell apart during the #thisisacrisis. Now, you could read that a couple of ways but I can’t find one that is flattering to Carole. Bethenny was too busy to be friends with you because she was doing charity? Bethenny wasn’t there for you because she was too busy doing charity? Or just the normal grew apart because they truly didn’t have that much in common (which is the most flattering to Carole until you take into account how she is going scorched earth now). Their friendship wasn’t over when Bethenny asked if Adam wanted to be involved. Keep in mind that Adam has a history of doing some volunteering so she asked if he would like to be involved by taking pictures (which helps spread the word and gets more people to donate—necessary evil). He originally said yes and then when he found out that he wouldn’t be paid for it, he said no. That’s when B went to Carole and said that she felt like Adam was a bit of an operator.
  13. Oh, this is hilarious. I used to live in Qatar before moving to Dubai. That is definitely one yacht to stay away from! LOL!!!
  14. So, Carole stated that her issues with Bethenny began over something B said about Adam. Well, now we know what it was. B told Carole that she felt like Adam was an operator. Important thing to keep in mind: Carole and Adam weren’t a thing at this time. They had broken up. Yet Carole refers to him as her boyfriend in her blog and being upset because Bethenny approached Adam about a professional/volunteer opportunity for him (because what kind of friend approaches their friend’s boyfriend. Ooh, I know the answer! A rational adult one!). Carole is crazy possessive of Adam. Like Tinsley levels with Scott. So, when Bethenny told her that she felt like Adam was an operator, instead of reacting like a reasonable adult friend who would have asked why and discussed it, she went nuts and went on a vindictive tear down season of Bethenny. As far as the childless comment, I don’t really see an issue with it. She was stating why Carole felt closer to Tinsley—they are/were at similar points in their life. I have friends of 25 years that I have drifted away from because I have 2 kids, they have none and they just don’t get why I can’t go out partying on a Friday night every weekend. It puts a strain on a friendship—and that is one with 25 years of history. Not just 3 years that was built off of a “hey, we’re on a show together” situation. If Carole really wanted children, she could have had them. Her husband was sterile when they married so they would have had to have gone the sperm donor or adoption route. Nothing to say (especially in this day and age) that you can’t be a single mother, if you really want to be a mom.
  15. Mexico is the 13th wealthiest country in the world. There are bad parts, of course. The bad parts are really bad. There are also good parts. One of my friends is in the process of moving there with her family. One of my husband’s coworkers just got transferred there. So yeah, people do voluntarily move there all the time.
  16. Tamara Tattles did a purple pen on the blog and it is amazing. I hardly ever agree with TT on ANYTHING and I used to really like Carole but OMG. I have to agree with 99.9% of that purple pen. It isn’t a good look for Carole. She comes off as petty, jealous, and not at all self-aware.
  17. I missed that. What was the name of the boat? Not on this show! LOL
  18. Also, the dinner scene when Areca was complaining about the food and she asks for the grilled cheese with truffles. She pulls her hair over her mouth like she is either eating it or smelling it. I’m hoping she was crazy drunk judging by her posture and the way she was walking but dude... Come on.
  19. I watched it again this morning (because I couldn’t believe the insanity) and yep, they reference lunch in the complaint. They said it was served like lunch and that is apparently not cool or chi chi enough for them. I’m now DYING to find out what sets Sandy off and has shouting that she just wants to fire Hannah and putting the boat at jeopardy. It can’t just be her hooking up with Babyface Bosun. Surely there is more to it than that because dude, hook ups happen. Otherwise we wouldn’t be on Season 3 of this show. LOL.
  20. I wonder what Carole would say her career is? I hear her reference writer and journalist quite a bit but those (IMO) need to be prefaced with former. She might be fine with only have 1 book (she published 2) in her but her actions don’t lead me to believe that. Otherwise she wouldn’t continue to call herself a writer, go to Cosmo, etc. I get to play with trains and play-doh for a living. LOL. It is totally not her style. I’m wondering if Dunkin’ Donuts either gave her the dress or told her that she had to get something that fit that theme (think British wedding/tea, frilly, pink, proper).
  21. Actually, Mexico is currently only at a Level 2. Weirdly, Saudi is also a level 2 but the surrounding GCC countries (Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Oman) are level 1 (Saudi should also be a level 1).
  22. Dude, it already has. Carole’s twitter is hilarious right now. She is indignant over the accusation that she doesn’t have a career. Dude, you HAD a career. You don’t do it anymore. Yep! She uses a glottal stop instead of a /t/ or tapped /t/. I tend to use a tapped /t/. Very few people will do a full /t/ in the medial position. Source: Me. I’m a speech therapist. LOL. Plus, there are only so many memoirs someone can write. You can only write about your husband’s death so many times. Huge difference between writing a memoir and writing fiction which makes for a more long-sustaining career. Stephen King has a career. Nora Roberts has a career. Sophie Kinsella has a career. Carole has written two books and never finished the last book in her contract (correct me if I’m wrong on that).
  23. I haven’t read the comments and I’m not even all the way through the episode but I have to say this... I have so many conflicting feelings about Dorinda. When she is sober, I like her. I’ve finished the Puerto Rico part of the episode and I liked her. But when she is drunk and angry, I don’t like that Dorinda. She is completely a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde person. Sober Dorinda is nice. Drunk Dorinda is angry and scary.
  24. I’m hoping it gets picked up by someone else since it wasn’t “owned” by ABC. It sucks though. It was the only scripted show that my husband watched and he would get excited for when it came on.
  25. I’m not a local or a hotel worker. I’m an expat (American) who took the time to learn what would be appropriate and not. In my experience, most locals (regardless of what city) get irritated with tourists sometimes. Whether it be New Yorkers getting irritated at tourists stopping to gawk at tall buildings and blocking the sidewalk or a tourist to Dubai being culturally offensive. Hotel workers also would NEVER correct a tourist. That would get them deported. But we are digressing from the board. I’m so happy to see that they went to the Grand Mosque. It was one of the places that I mentioned in a previous post about places I wish they would have done on the BH trip to Dubai. It is absolutely gorgeous inside and it is always so interesting to me to learn about other cultures.
