  1. I'm not sure I ever saw or ate a profiterole in the 70s (and I consider myself a 70s girl - graduated high school in 1976). Maybe they just weren't a big thing in Texas.
  2. I did see Carla eating some of the cornucopia but it looked like a layer peeled (pealed?) from the outside. Perhaps Karent got all the foil out and she had all that fruit stuffed up inside of it to hide the carnage that inevitably took place from pulling the foil out?
  3. Carla actually started the conducting over Megan's pie while talking about how Nancy does the conducting thing.
  4. I love a good peanut butter pie so I'm not mad at Megan (?) winning.
  5. As a single mother who raised a daughter, I always said I would prefer a man who had children and had a great relationship with those children. As far as we have heard David has a wonderful relationship with his children, raised them on his own after the death of his wife, and they all seem to still want to be around him (again, to the extent we've heard and seen). That would mean a lot to me.
  6. All of Christine's kids have seen and known that their biological father was in a sexual relationship with 3 other women besides their mother (well, okay, maybe not Meri). Their whole life has been (to the outside world) inappropriate. I think Christine is laying it on a little thick but hopefully Truely will learn to adapt and the joy and love that so far David and Christine are manifesting will help her become a happy and functional adult who can find a joyous relationship for herself. We can only hope!
  7. Dried cherries sound delicious...and I'm also fond of cranberries.
  8. For a moment when they first showed Kardea I thought she was Gayle King.
  9. Natasha was the one whose lipstick clashed so dreadfully with the color of her blouse - hopefully that was caused by stage lighting and not a personal choice.
  10. Random thoughts... Rafi kind of rubs me the wrong way but he sure made a beautiful main heat dessert. I'm sure I will get over it - there's something about him (this is just my opinion) that comes across that he's a total Rico Suave - just too cool. He did seem to tone it down towards the end of the show so maybe it was just nerves. Matcha grosses me out and I wish it would go away. I feel like I have seen Andre on another show but can't quite place him. Jesse is aging like fine wine. I seriously envy that one lady's ponytail - Karen perhaps? Karla looked fantastic.
  11. Davis isn't a spring chicken and although younger neither is Christine. Perhaps they just feel that there is no reason to wait (and I also think they want to live together so they can do laundry any time they want...LOL!). Christine still has a relatively young daughter in the house so if they had already commenced an intimate relationship I hope they would have been discrete.
  12. That's been a trend for the last several years.
  13. For some reason Christine didn't bother me as much on this episode as she has previously. If you contrast her to Kody she is just so happy and he's just so miserable - the only thing that would make it better is if he was forced to watch her on repeat all the time...but he would manage to make it all about himself. Boy is he trying to backtrack and fix his image! Were there even any scenes of him and Robin together this episode - a few shots of the Robin family together but no him and Robin alone.
  14. The Hill Country of Texas was populated by Czech people (and German) and has a huge heritage and history (I'm saying that so poorly - sorry!). There are many festivals and the town of West is known for their bakery - driving past it without stopping is very hard!
  15. Times certainly have changed. I clearly remember one of my sister's best friends living with her single mom, which back in the late 60s, early 70s was an anomaly. They lived in an apartment which was so exotic!
  16. I have a problem with dozing off while watching, so it has taken me three nights to get to the end of the episode
  17. I think Noel and Allison are a good pair. The whole back and forth with Samiyah started out with Allison telling Noel she said Allison was his favorite and he was reacting - of course he didn't pick a good time. This might be an unpopular opinion, but I went back and watched Matt's time on Bake Off and quite honestly his type of humor did not appeal to me by the end of his tenure. He was really sweet at the beginning but by the end of his time he was throwing in a lot of sexual remarks and innuendo and I just did not enjoy it in this show (again, this is just my opinion).
  18. My only issues with this completed cottage were that I thought the primary bathroom looked cramped, and I thought that it wouldn't have hurt to put in another bedroom. In addition, why make the outdoor shower and dressing room separate - so you have to shower, go outside and then go in the other door to get dressed? Somebody please make it make sense to me...LOL! I do agree though - it was a lovely place and I would love to cuddle up on that screened in porch with the fire going and a warm blanket and a really good Susan Elizabeth Phillips romance novel.
  19. Well when you put it that way it does look bad...but for the most part I doubt that was the people who manage the page - there are just some major jerks on Facebook pages that love to put other people down and pretend to know everything about anything. For instance I once posted that I felt like in the first season they were very misogynistic towards Ashley (who really isn't one of my favorites) and you would have thought I was evil (or maybe it was on this page...LOL). Some people just don't like you to not agree with their opinion. I was referring to the information on the page. I'm pretty good about ignoring the jerks.
  20. Or maybe they have regional dialects that pronounce words differently.
  21. I wish I could identify as Coastal Grandma!
  22. Perhaps the producers told Meri that if she would actually sit in a room with Kody and listen to his drivel (and quite honestly watching the expressions on her face was worth sitting through his ridiculousness) she would get a bonus. She certainly deserves one! The Boomer stuff with Christine just went over my head while I watched the show. People make ignorant statements and since I really wasn't sure whether it pertained to my generation or not (thanks for the enlightenment!) it didn't annoy me. Still doesn't - I'm simply not easily offended.
  23. It could be that she truly is a ninny...takes all kind to make the world go round!
  24. I just try to remember that Christine has been in a protective bubble for the majority of her adult life and a lot of time she says dumb stuff, does dumb stuff, wears dumb clothes without appropriate undergarments, and honestly can be pretty clueless. She behaves almost like someone who has been kept in a locked room for most of her life and is now experiencing freedom for the first time (I almost compared her to Gypsy Rose Blanchard but I'm pretty sure she wouldn't go that far!). And look at me - a Boomer! - judging her!
