  1. Random? Perhaps, but seemed apropos - At age 17, she was rejected from college. At age 25, her mother died from disease. At age 26, she suffered a miscarriage. At age 27, she got married. Her husband abused her. Despite this, her daughter was born. At age 28, she got divorced and was diagnosed with severe depression. At age 29, she was a single mother living on welfare. At age 30, she didn't want to be on this earth. But, she directed all her passion into doing the one thing she could do better than anyone else. And that was writing. At age 31, she finally published her first book. At age 35, she had released 4 books, and was named Author of the Year. At age 42, she sold 11 million copies of her new book, on the first day of release. This woman is J.K. Rowling. Remember how she considered suicide at age 30? Today, Harry Potter is a global brand worth more than $15 billion dollars. Never give up. Believe in yourself. Be passionate. Work hard. It’s never too late.
  2. Maybe you're speaking of your parents, I don't know, but if you're implying that everyone outside of your immediate circle has all they need, well, that's uninformed and bordering on disrespectful. Just because people don't post paragraphs of grievances on a weekly basis, you shouldn't take that to mean that everything is roses. I can assure you that it is not. Hope your life settles down soon. *Edited for brevity
  3. There are probably healthy people who are exhibitionists, but the first thing to remember with anything Britney does, is that she is mentally ill. Whether she needed a conservator is arguable I guess, but her mental status cannot really be questioned. In my opinion.
  4. If this is the interview in question, I am a bit incredulous at calling this a 'sexy little black top'.
  5. While I'm not a proponent of replacing people with things (we will eventually exhaust jobs, right?), I think you may be right. I watched a local news reader (you have one job) pronounce SBF's last name like it was chicken from a bucket. 🤦‍♀️
  6. I much prefer them, then yukon gold. Russet my least favorite. But I digress, lol.
  7. That certainly looks useful, but I guess I was thinking about the fryer itself; the cavity I guess, not so much the basket. Thanks!
  8. And let's forget about making a practical decision to use another variety; one that wouldn't need peeling, like redskins or yukons when serving a mass of folks. Stupid tv people. 🥔👩‍🍳🤯
  9. I've had to actively persuade myself to not be triggered by modern journalism (or split infinitives, lol). I'd be curled up in a ball 24/7.
  10. Yeah, that's the thing. I get that dying at 90 and dying at 9 aren't the same, nor perceived in the same way, but my mom was the same number of years older than me when she died this year, as she was when I was 5 or 10 or 50. Numbers. Please don't minimize the impact of her death or anyone elses, by reducing it to numbers. So sorry about your mom. Edit - sorry for the thread hijack. If anyone wants to take the convo further, you can do so in the Chit Chat thread. I suck at sharing links here, but if you click on ^Chit-Chat, it will take you to that forum topic.
  11. A group of A-list celebrities—including Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow, Justin Bieber, Jimmy Fallon, Serena Williams and The Weeknd—have been sued in a California federal court for promoting non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for Bored Ape Yacht Club. madonna-gwyneth-paltrow-justim-bieber
  12. The death of family members, or people in general is often not qualified or quantified by longevity. Folks handle things differntly.
  13. I found myslf missing Jimmy, right around the time Beth was 'fckng this' and 'fckng that' with Rip, or maybe when Jamie was fckng brunette Beth. Best part of the show for me was John's interaction with the dead cowboy's widow. Other than that, I ignored it. Oh, and the Lynell/Summer jealousy storyline was insulting, lol. Seriously.
