  1. I thought it was cute that they showed Maryann childhood photos and she's there with the biggest smile on her face. So, the big smile thing is just who she is. I can see how she may get to be annoying but for now I think she is sweet. Rocksroy is one of those people who lacks the ability to be thoughtful in what he says. You can have thoughts about poor work ethic, we should do it this way, sandy shoes bug me, but you obviously need to self-edit before saying that outloud. Looks like he has zero skills in that department. I was neutral on Zach vs Tori but ok with it being Zach. He seemed like another Cochran type and I'm ok not getting more of those.
  2. such a blah episode I really thought Meredith's boyfriend was going to get smashed by a car while riding his bike. Way too many scenes of him driving etc. and calling. Just plant him in Seattle already so we have the possibility of a range of scenes. I have been wishes for Glasses to get run over or something for about as long as he has been on the show. Please get him to move to staff some clinic in some other state. He brings nothing good to the show and never has. Owen both freaking out for not being able to help people but also refusing to do what was needed to get back to helping people was weird. I realize we don't want to see a bunch of shows with kids or watch our people run routine chores but always cracks me up when they are all "this is my first day of in 35 days and I'm going to spend it in a bar." Real life for me if I've worked a long time with no breaks is "this is my first day off; I'm getting some extra sleep, doing laundry, straightening out the house, and catching up on lots of random parts of life."
  3. this was my favorite moment. I was happy for Beth that she was able to ultimately succeed, and seeing him support her like that was wonderful
  4. the haunted house felt like a silly storyline shows run in October Vic jumping in the water brought back old Meredith/Grey memories
  5. I feel bad for Schmidt but keep hoping he realizes he's meant to be something other than a surgeon, recovers and we never see him again I did love the way the snow falling outside Jo's apartment looked. Made me want to live in a tall building somewhere cold for a brief moment. I was glad Amelia called Jo out. I feel like we've done this story line of "person just can't stop acting weird" about 1000 times. It's not realistic. Glad Amelia called it.
  6. We've seen her at least once before--the actress was on SNL years ago. I thought with the pregnant mom, part of their concern was they thought she might have had an affair, so wanted to be especially careful in telling the mom and not disclosing things to the dad. Turns out he was the cheater. This show still has its issues but much better this season. Please, writers, don't mess it up.
  7. I'm so surprised and it's kind of awesome. I guess I'll never watch those reruns the same :)
  8. Could not handle Glasses being referred to as the best resident. Ughhh. I feel bad for the character--and it was a big what ??? to see him in the ambulance bay alone--but I really wish this inspires him to move onto clinic-based medicine in some other state. Please leave. I did notice the new resident who was acting like a stalker in previous episodes was acting normal, so maybe there is hope he'll be a real character.
  9. I was happy with the outcome, even though Chantall's collection wasn't as strong as I expected. Christina is not my style but I did like how she just did her thing. She was always pushing the edges and I admire the effort. Coral was stronger than I expected. Chasity's was nice enough but i didn't see it as the winner.
  10. My son and I watched together and both had a negative reaction to the ocean littering. Not necessary. For 2020, I felt like they should have just flown some judges to TX and had the 2 teams do their own competition outside. Minimal risk to anybody. We ended up rooting for TVCC--like the underdogs I guess. I enjoyed Dee show his own version of emotion when he tumbled. No over the top smiles but his own style.
  11. I am a very not in the know person for fashion but I know who Coco is. I learned from watching ANTM. She is someone that helps me truly "get" what makes a great model. You see her pose and a light bulb goes off for me. I get why she is big. She just does things that aren't natural to everybody else--and she comes off to me as pretty normal and nice. I enjoyed this episode. I was puzzled by how much Chasity kept focusing on the Disney villain thing--if it was a new concept, I would have been on board but it's not. And the dress was not that interesting. I liked Bones and I thought aspects of his dress were really nice but he did not meet the challenge well.
  12. that is disappointing. It was such a nice show. Not too many episodes and some great songs.
  13. I found it odd for Dr. Scott's former friend to be so mad at him that he seemed ok undermining his son's medical care. How does that help him? I would have had more sympathy for Russian doctor if he was doing medically necessary care--but branching into cosmetic surgery? really?
  14. I, too, was very distracted by the boobs. If they were looking at overall performance, Coral needed to go, but Aaron was really bad this week. I would have felt bad for him but for his awful outburst at Bones week earlier.
  15. I want the vascom stuff to go away. It's been standard procedure for hospitals to have a full time compliance officer since the late 1990s. In no way would Sharon be winging that. I've been ignoring the lack of reality but pretending they should just now have one is hard for me to take. So let's move on! Making the guy an organ donor wasn't right but on this show, I was fine with it. That dad dying would have been awful.
  16. I will add re long-running popularity--I think it is cool that when Pop started rerunning ER from the start, we were on page 1 of this. Now 109 pages. ER is a lot older than Breaking Bad or the Sopranos. I don't know of a show of around the same time period with this much of a Primetimer following. For what that is worth.
  17. on Christmas Eve day I realized that Pop was doing what I have long requested: an ER Christmas episode marathon. I missed season 1 (which I assume was Blizzard which I love) but recorded the rest--which unfortunately only covered the first few seasons. Even though early seasons are best, the show always did good Christmas episodes--even a late one with Archie singing with Helah.
  18. I think you hit on one of the strengths of the show, especially at the beginning. There were characters who were both likeable and human, such that they had flaws. Strong writing is when you can give the good guys believable flaws. As opposed to doing suddenly stupid things to drive the plot.
  19. This year I did not have a strong favorite, but my least favorite was GNT so darn on that. They were my 5th place contestant if I was ranking them (I'm just not sure of my 1-4). I found them dull. I realize I'm in the minority on that. I really enjoyed Ed Sheeran's performace.
  20. When I saw 3 doctors in a car and an accident, all I could think was "3 doctors' lives at risk and NONE of them is Glasses? not even Helm?" I so hope Glasses gets fired or quits but I know not to get my hopes. I was hoping new resident would be an interesting character but looks like he is a nut--disappointing. I did love being on the same page with Maggie when she asked who would be on that list of competent residents.
  21. I was glad CT won. I thought this was a more boring final than the previous ones. No yucky eating. No penalty for being last (i.e. stay outside part of the night). I had pointed out to my youngest that having Devn on CT's cell was not necessarily good. CT can do puzzles; he doesn't need Devin--but if Devin can't keep up they can't do the puzzles. Luckily the other team was that bad at puzzles. I call foul on the losers getting to pick their partners. That was wrong.
  22. I loved Zayden as a person but am puzzled why he didn't think about his model when he made his design. The challenge was the perfect challenge for loose fitting garments. No he didn't need to make a tent but to go for form fitting with his model was just a bad idea. He could have done something closer to Aaron's approach and made it flatter the model without having to deal with so many fitting challenges. It would have still fitted the brief unlike other challenges where a loose, comfy top would get you criticized.
  23. I was thinking the same thing. Obviously designers are going to reuse ideas they already have in their head and have done before. It's a speed design/sew show. But I don't see why you would want to call that out. They are questioning your design so to point out "this is not the result of me having to think quickly but is actually an idea I just redid" doesn't encourage a judge to want to keep you. I also thought the super long sleeve thing didn't fit the challenge. If it was avant guard (sp) then I would kind of see it. It's not. I might want a slightly oversized sleeve for comfy-ness but 6 foot long--no thanks.
  24. I, too, felt like the new transfer resident had more competence than we 've seen from Glasses or Helm. I hope he becomes a real character and they don't botch it. Competent people (who have some weaknesses to overcome) are interesting. Incompetent people who we're supposed to believe somehow don't kill all their patients and keep acting like they are 14 (ahem Glasses and Helm) are not. The recruiting med students stuff was pretty dull. Who needs a diagram of the new teaching method? how is that helpful? The research stuff will always be boring--because it is boring to watch, seems very unrealistic and we all know they are not curing Parkinsons. It works better when they are dealing with one unusual patient or some crisis and have to come up with a new approach. I don't like storylines that you know will not work (unless they ignore reality). A big No to Jo and Link. I really hope that does not happen. I like it when shows have solid friendships.
  25. exactly. I liked Kini's version better than the version Chastity and Prajje did and because I had seen that look before, I couldn't get behind them winning. To me their dress looked nice but it's a repeat (at least until you get to the painted fabric) so nothing interesting. I was so disappointed in Aaron. It was bad enough in the work room but when he unloaded at the party--what the what? I hold people extra accountable when they have had a few minutes to cool off, take a breach and calm down. He had had that time and was still such a jerk. Plus he did not give a full apology. Bones deserves extra credit for (a) remaining surprisingly calm. He was the same way working with Anna when other designers would have gotten wound up with her bossiness; and (b) clearly articulate his view, calmly and directly to the person as opposed to only doing that in talking heads. It's hard to say what you mean directly to a person and Bones is not afraid to do it.
