Dark, flat colors are harsh on older people, anyway. Look at Loretta Lynn or the late June Carter Cash. (Also see: overlong hair does not look good on older women, Mullet.)

My grandparents were the children of German immigrants. Back on topic: Where are the Josiahs honeymooning?

It looks like Mary to me, too. Not surprising that her hair is thinning at her age.

Is that a rhetorical question? Her leghumpers and her haters want to see it. As far as the vanilla goes -- how many people can tell the difference between real and fake in a recipe? It's no nastier than any other flavoring, probably less nasty than store-bought baked goods. Lots of people like that "crap."

It's my informal observation that the more fundie the denomination, the more cavalier they are about dressing in a traditionally appropriate manner for church, and the more likely they are to treat church like going to a movie. I knew some Assembly of God born-agains when I was growing up. They were all about church three times a week and only "Christian" music and so on. Their kids wore short-shorts and tank tops to church and ate candy bars during the service and chewed gum like cows chewing their cuds. (Their family was also the biggest hypocrites in town -- all about promiscuity and adultery and scams and treating other people like garbage. But it was okay because they were "Christian.") My grandparents were devout ELCA Lutherans (it obviously didn't take with me). They always dressed nicely even when they lived in hot-ass Florida, and coffee/cookies/snacks were for after church, not during. Now get off my lawn.

In all fairness, I don't think Dr. Jill At Your Cervix was even in the country when Spurgeon was born. That one can't be on her. I do blame her for her own near-disasters and Joy's as well.

Spurgeon Poshsprinkles? ;) Good for the Vuolos for picking a good name and a hospital/birthing center birth. Stuff it, Aunt Jill.

Not exclusively. https://health.usnews.com/health-news/family-health/mens-health/articles/2011/02/22/what-causes-hair-loss-9-myths-about-baldness From the article: "Not entirely true. While the primary baldness gene is on the X chromosome, which men get only from their mothers, other factors are also in play. The hereditary factor is slightly more dominant on the woman's side, but research suggests that men who have a bald father are more likely to develop male pattern baldness than those who don't."

He looks like a bobblehead. *shakes him back and forth*

Fundies tend to be dorky! Jeremy being literate doesn't make him a pseudo intellectual. Do you think Ben and Jessa are pseudo intellectuals because they saddled their firstborn with a hideous, "meaningful" name?
-
It's kind of a dorky name, anyway.

Same. I'm kind of jealous of that kitchen. (My guilty pleasure is interior design and real estate listings.) -
They lie whenever it suits them, not just to sinners.

Jill doesn't want new friends! Seriously, I can't see Derelict moving away for school and leaving Jilly to live on her own with two boys. That completely goes against her family's teachings -- didn't Ofsmuggar move into the TTH, with kids in tow, when Smuggar went to "rehab"? This, of course, is besides the fact that Jill couldn't manage a single day without visiting Derelict at Walmart.

It's a pretty trendy design, so maybe Austin was involved or maybe random J'boy just spent an hour on Zillow. That kitchen has probably more storage than my condo kitchen does. You learn to deal with it -- like the grocery store isn't going to have a sudden shortage of baking supplies, so I don't need to stock up, nor do I need another kitchen gadget that will just gather dust. -
His choice of UA, if in fact he's going to law school there, might be as simple as location. Where is the nearest bible-thumper law school? How many of those accept federal financial aid?

She said "I’ve never known another little boy who’s more in love with mowers, tractors and skid steers." Big difference between that and saying she's never known any boy who loved tractors and such. (Italics mine.) The feet don't bother me much. He's a toddler, they're in the country, and it's summer. He's not his Uncle Derelict, going barefoot in public buildings.

She looks like Joy and Jill did at about six months! Fingers crossed for an easy delivery at a hospital for Jinger. It's not a competition, Jinger, you don't have to one-up your idiot sisters.

Ironically, neither Gothard Queen Michelle Duggar nor Crown Princess Kelly Bates or whatever Terri Maxwell wears her hair up. More cherry-picking from the olden days by GotHardites.

Some of those styles look so heavy; some look sloppy as well. I'd have a monster headache before the ceremony was over. And an itchy neck.

I don't think you said University of Arkansas, though. I can't see him as a defense attorney or doing mundane stuff like divorces and bankruptcies. He'll either handle Jim Bob's businesses or be a mouthpiece for RWNJ. Assuming, of course, that the rumors are true, that he makes it through law school, and he passes the bar.

Poor elocution and grammar isn't exclusive to the Duggars by any means. I'd say it's epidemic in people who don't read.
