Sorry, I was referring to one of several theories about the nephilim inheriting traits from Castiel I've seen online! I wasn't referring to you specifically. I would have to agree to disagree on a Lucifer possessed Castiel sleeping with Kelly being a step too far! IMO the show is definitely not afraid to have its main characters carry out bad deeds if the plot calls for it. The most relevant example of this takes place in I'm No Angel where Castiel has sex with the reaper possessed April. Although I wouldn't refer to that as rape, as Castiel did not know she was possessed, there were definitely major consent issues involved with that encounter. Plus it was revealed that back in season four the majority of the shows writers were content to allow Sam to sleep with a Ruby possessed victim. It was only the words of Sera Gamble that swayed Kripke into introducing the brain dead component to lessen the ick factor associated with the Sam and Ruby relationship. IMO consent hasn't been a major issue for this show since she left at the end of season seven. Other examples of the main characters being involved in less than upstanding deeds include; Sam's decision to murder an 'awake' nurse for her blood rather than try an exorcism, Castiel's decision to break Sam's wall in order to distract the brothers while he tried to open purgatory, Dean's decision to murder an innocent teen (the Styne kid whose name I can't remember). Castiel in particular they have never been afraid of making look bad. His misdeeds including; the murder of Balthazar when he felt betrayed, the breaking of Sam's wall, the unleashing of the levithians, stealing from the brothers, leaving them knocked out and vulnerable near the gates of heaven. IMO if the writers wanted to introduce a kid which was fathered by both Castiel and Lucifer the consent issues involved would not have stopped them. If they wanted to keep Castiel' sympathetic all they'd have to say is that he was deep within his own mind and completely unaware of what was going on in the world around him, as was the case when Crowley possessed him during Hell's Angel. So overall I personally believe any physical similarities between Misha and Alexander are a coincidence rather than something intended. IMO having to make use of explanations such as 'the baby stole Cas' DNA when they connected' etc seem overly convoluted when it would have been a lot easier to just make Casifier the father of Kelly's baby. Of course I could be proven wrong in the end. I'm simply sharing my view on the issue at this current moment in time :)

I can see both sides! On the one hand, I think Mark has the right to complain. Just look at posters on here! Some are complaining about a lack of brother bond in recent seasons, others like myself are complaining about the atrocious way they wrote Cas in the second half of the season, others are complaining about a downplay of Dean's abilities and role on the show. If we all have the right to make such complaints then surely Mark has the right to complain about the writing for his character. On the other hand, for his own sake I think Mark may want to tone it down! He may be a talented actor, but he could still close future doors if he's not careful. No one is going to want to hire someone who has a reputation for badmouthing their former bosses.

Of course it is all Misha's fault! Didn't you know he is the anti-Christ of SN, the one destined to bring the show to ruination? The only reason he is still around is the fact he has a massive folder containing blackmail material on J2 and the show runners! Obviously Mark decided to cut his losses and escape that psycho.

I voted for Castiel and Crowley. Sadly, I didn't feel it was right to vote Bobby's return as it felt rather fan servicey, while the return of Elena was a natural part of TVDs conclusion IMO. The crappy website kept cutting out on my iPhone and bringing me back to the start so I didn't even get as far as the nephilim opening his eyes.

I'm not sure if it's intentional if I'm honest. I mean if they wanted the baby to be both Cas and Lucifer wouldn't it have been easier to just have Casifier sleep with someone? That way it would have had a biological tie to Cas and a metaphysical tie to Lucifer. It would have also been a lot less convulted than some sort of "Cas stole DNA explanation"

S12.E22: Who We Are/S12.E23 All Along the Watchtower
Wayward Son replied to Diane's topic in Supernatural
He didn't. Crowley was totally MIA for the second last episode, which was entirely focused on hunters vs British Man of Letters. -
Supernatural Bitterness & Unpopular Opinions: You All Suck

Sam found out about Dean carrying him out the door during Home. It was while Dean was discussing what he recalled of the night Mary died. -
If I recall correctly Misha / Castiel was originally slated to appear for six episodes. • Lazarus Rising • Are You There God Its Me Dean Winchester • In the Beginning • Its the Great Pumpkin Sam Winchester • I Know What You Did Last Summer • Heaven and Hell The original plan was for him to die during his confrontation with Alastair. Anna had been introduced so she could replace Castiel as the Winchester's primary angelic ally. However, due to the popularity of Cas / Misha he got a reprieve and the rest as they say is history. The interesting thing about this is that it might explain how the shipping of Destiel came to be. Anna was intended as a love interest of Dean's (which they had begun during the episodes she appeared), but suddenly Cas was being thrust into the role originally intended for her during the rest of the season. Perhaps it's a case of some of the romantic tropes remained within the writing of that role, presumably despite the writers intentions, some viewers picked up on these and boom the Destiel branch of fandom began.

Interesting fact, whether it actually means anything or not remains to be seen, Mark retweeted a happy birthday from the Doctor Who account, but completely ignored the happy birthday from Jim Michaels.

Why would his deaths by hellhounds and Metatron not count? As far as I can recall they took place in this timeline and this world? I'm not sure how it could be argued they don't count as they belonged to mystery spot like alternative dimensions? And I thought the same about purgatory. The fact Dean was able to just step through a portal and come back without demonic or angelic interference suggested it was dimensional travel to me also :) . I'm fairly certain if you legitimately die and go to heaven or hell, without interference, you can only return to earth in spirit form as Bobby did in Taxi Driver. Thanks Katy M :)

According to the Supernatural Wiki the main characters have had the following deaths. Dean Winchester (2) • Killed by Hellhound (3x16) • Killed by Metatron (9x23) Sam Winchester • Killed by Jake (2x22) • Killed by his decision to jump into the cage (5x22) Castiel (5) • Killed by Raphael (4x22) • Killed by Lucifer (5x22) • Killed by Levithians (7x02) • Killed by the reaper possessing April Kelly (9x03) • Killed by Lucifer (12x23) What other deaths is the wiki missing? Off the top of my head I know they've missed • Dean's deaths in Mystery Spot (though these are arguable I suppose as they took place in a pocket dimension created by Gabriel if I remember correctly) • Sam and Dean's death at the hands of Rory and Walt during Dark Side of the Moon. • Dean's time in purgatory... Does it count as a death? Or as dimensional travel akin to travelling back in time or going to the Alt!Dimension?

Yeah, I just edited the post :) . Apparently, he opted against allowing his panel to be live streamed, which is why he wasn't involved in the live stream related promotion.
-
If this image is anything to by it looks as though Mark Sheppard has cancelled appearing at Phoenix Con, or was he never meant to be there in the first place? https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DBHM7uUU0AAbpjz?format=jpg ETA: Never mind, apparently he wasn't included as Mark opted against allowing his panel to be live streamed.

Perhaps we should consider moving this to a different thread, although I'm not sure which one, since we've moved from speculating on Mark's reason for leaving to a general discussion on the shows actors and their contracts. Thanks for the clarification :)

What gives you the impression Jared's agents are particularly cut throat? I'm not saying you're wrong or anything. I'm just curious.
