They could have just been waiting for Mark to announce it himself before saying anything! I think we should probably give Dabb and Co a day or two before gathering our pitch forks ;)

Yeah, from what I've heard Creation are very strict about tying actors down to exclusivity contracts. J2, Misha and anyone else on the show contracted with them can only do different conventions if they are based outside the US. ETA: I wonder if the exclusivity more than the pay was what made Mark walk. If he has left he may not want to risk being in the position where he has achieved regular status on a different show, but can't attend cons and interact with fans of said show because he's tied down by creation. That'd be understandable.

Why thank you! Do I get cookies? And originally I was 80% Crowley is gone and 20% he is staying. However, after thinking on Mark's behaviour yesterday, I'd say I'm now 50/50 maybe even leaning in favour of his return, even if only in a more limited capacity. I just think it'd be OOC of Mark to behave unprofessionally by openly throwing shade at the show like he did yesterday.

I just did funnily enough. So either this is a part of the con, or Mark meant it had a "oh shit I shouldn't have been unprofessional like that... I'd better do damage control and properly announce my departure". Also, general question for all not just Catrox, did you guys see Mark has clarified he will be doing cons in future. They just won't be creation ones.

You know the more I think on it, the more I think Mark Sheppard is just trolling all of us and purposely portraying the "disgruntled employee" . If he were genuinely unhappy with the show I don't think he'd be so open about it on twitter! He'd want to protect his reputation and keep himself open to getting work if nothing else. There are so many stories of good actors struggling to get work because they built a bad reputation for themselves by dissing a former employer, no employer wants to risk being the next one to be insulted, so I doubt Mark would risk becoming one of these. I think he'll be back even if only to guest star in an episode or two.

I'm surprised by that as well! I mean Crowley and Rowena are both rather popular characters with the fandom! I would have expected at least one question on them to be asked. You guys are right could really be anything. It could be an issue with the writing as @Geordiegirl1967 says, or Mark doesn't mean a word of it as @catrox14. It could be that he was instructed to play the role of the "disgruntled former employee" to convince people he had indeed left. So we would be more surprised when he returned. Im thinking something similar to Jim Beavers tweets about "being disappointed he didn't get on the show this year", which of course ended up being a lie as he did appear haha

I found someone posting this on tumblr. That certainly seems to imply Mark wasn't best pleased with how things ended for Crowley. ETA: I went on to twitter to confirm this wasn't photoshopped and it's legit. Also a fan asked him was he doing SN cons in 2018 and his answer was an abrupt "no". So between the screenshot and that maybe something bad did happen BTS.

I'm not sure if we should read too much into it @SueB . I can understand where you are coming from, but Mark Pellegrino also isn't there and he also seems to be a regular now.

Some more tweets from S.E Hinton! https://mobile.twitter.com/se4realhinton/status/867063472412139520 https://mobile.twitter.com/se4realhinton/status/867065324956512257 She doesn't mention Misha at all, but due to his tweets it's hard to tell if she's just guessing, or her on set contacts have confirmed Mark and Ruth are truly gone.

I totally agree the way they've handled things with Mark, if this is indeed the end, is absolutely atrocious! I also feel it was wrong of them to have Rowena and Cas die in the same episode. Especially if both of them wind up back on the show next season, but Mark / Crowley is actually gone.

Supernatural Bitterness & Unpopular Opinions: You All Suck
Wayward Son replied to mstaken's topic in Supernatural
I love On The Head of a Pin and hated Benny. A poorly thought out cliche character that was clearly only there for Dean to use as a weapon against Sam. As shown by the fact once that purpose was served back to purgatory the writers send him. -

I really can't see that happening. I'd love it if they did, but I couldn't see it. I feel like if promoting Misha (or anyone for that matter) into a third lead was a possibility they'd have done it long ago. I feel like Jensen and Jared have expressed their view of the show as being primarily one "about two brothers" too many times in cons and interviews for them to make such a fundamental change.
-
Yes but aren't those characters generally one of the leads i.e someone who appears in every episode (or near enough) as at least one of those characters. Let's not forget Misha only appears in at most half the episodes of a season. His screen time is limited as it is let alone trying to fit in multiple characters / storylines.
-
My main issue with Alt!Cas and OUR Cas appearing concurrently is the workload for Misha and the production team. I know they've done it before, for example Dean and future Dean during The End, or the different aspects of Sam's psyche during The Man Who Knew Too Much, but that was for one episode. I feel like having two Cas' / Misha around long term would be a bit too much especially when he doesn't appear in all the episodes in the first place!!
-
Originally all Angels had a particular vessel line and it was stated in season 4 that the Novak line were the ideal line for Castiel. The whole "strong enough" mythology was a retcon introduced by Carver in season 9.
-
Agreed! There are multiple ways of interpreting that tweet! He could be simply referring to the spelling controversary amongst the fandom, or it could be a way of distinguishing between our Cass and Alt!Cas. Disclaimer: Although I personally prefer to spell it as Cas, since the shows official spelling is Cass I'd imagine if he was creating a way of telling the two a part he'd used Cass for our Cas and Cas for Alt!Cas.

Initially I was very indignant on behalf of the Crowley / Mark fans since it seemed like an unfair move to not invite him and give Italian fans an opportunity to see Mark S if he really is leaving the show! Then I remembered the con organisers are seperate to the show and probably hadn't a clue about the finale storylines! Still, even as a major Misha fan, seems a bit unfair to me that Mark wasn't invited when he is / was billed as a regular like Misha!

S12.E22: Who We Are/S12.E23 All Along the Watchtower
Wayward Son replied to Diane's topic in Supernatural
I was surprised they were separate in the first place! I know over on the Once forum the two part finale were made into one thread, so I was surprised it was different here. -
