  1. Yeah, clearly he lobbied to work on it when he was looking for another job, obviously got the job, but the show is really Christina Kim's. I don't know if anyone watched it - the trailer actually looked good for a CW show. But I won't support Berens or Dabb, or even Singer if he doesn't keep his ass in retirement. However, it's all a moot point as I don't get the CW anymore, so if I want to watch something I have to stream it the following day off their website, and that's a pain in the ass.
  2. Actually, it's still post-COVID, dated 9/11/20. So these still aren't the original pre-COVID scripts. I've read through both of them, and mostly what's missing from the final aired product is some exposition and a few scenes between characters that frankly would have gone a long way to making certain scenes make more sense. But unfortunately exposition is exactly the kind of thing that gets cut down in the end, either in directing or editing. As bad as 19 was, I think it works better without the lame ass video montage. Plus apparently there's a final scene with a newscaster from the area they were in when Jack brings everyone back talking about pet adoption days. Totally explains Miracle who was obviously part of a pet adoption site that all disappeared, and he was loose when everything was brought back. So the assumption is Dean goes back and adopts the dog - he doesn't steal him and it isn't an AU. That kind of information would be handy to know. We're also supposed to know that it's been six months between 19-20 at the start of 20. Still a shitty short time for Dean to enjoy any kind of a life, but at least it wouldn't have come off like it was only a week, two at most, the way the final product did. ETA: I don't know if it will ever happen, if anyone will get comfortable enough or even allowed to talk about what would have gone down in 19 & 20 pre-COVID. I think 19 must have changed far more radically. For instance, we already know from Showalter that there would have been a big battle scene in 19. But that's the information I really want.
  3. My guess is they shot that in Ackles' Colorado backyard. Beautiful snowy scenery - and the property ain't bad either. 😍
  4. The thing with animated projects is that they take a couple of years or more to finally hit the screen. I believe Jensen told one of his M&G groups a year or two ago that he had voiced this particular project. I don't recall if he said he was the lead voice, however, but Jensen fans have been waiting for DC to release the movie(s). So the reason it looks like new news is that it is - this is the first announcement of the project because it's finally complete and ready for air. Yay! In the solo panel he did right before the finale aired, he was in his garage with the Impala and I believe he indicated that was where he did his voice work, and that he'd worked on something more recently. But no details. So a couple years from now we might get another announcement about another project.
  5. I would agree that there were circumstances different from the last two times we saw all the kids drinking, but then there was that line from Jon about giving Jordan his first drink, his "first time". Uh no, sorry writer of this episode, that's not even a little true. Did you miss the two episodes where the kids were drinking, or are we already attempting to ignore canon or change canon just a few episodes into the series? Either way, it was a glaring mistake in the writing. Yeah, Jonathan is SUPER polite, incredibly well-mannered to the point that he's more like a robot than a human teenager. Good grief, he wasn't even really drunk - though that could be because the actor is young and still working on his craft. But it just looks like this is what the producers want of this character right now - to not be a problem for the other characters they're clearly more interested in, and to be there mostly to prop up his brother and the parents too when it's warranted. I hope not, but that's where we're at at this point with this character. He's too one-dimensional so far, and that's a shame if the series is truly interested in exploring the family dynamics. Makes me wonder why they even bothered giving the Kents twins - why not just have Jordan and leave it at that? I hope for better when the show comes back, or at least by season two. I remember that I did laugh out loud when Lois told the kids to take a ride-share home to the farm. Um, seriously, there's a need for Uber or Lyft in Smallville? What, is it one guy with a vintage Ford Pinto named Jerry, because I can't imagine there's much money to be made in Smallville for a ride-share business. Where is there to go? Honestly I think the kids should have/probably just walked home. No argument there. We should have seen a little discussion between Lois and Clark as to what this would mean to uproot the kids. Jordan was having problems prior to the move, so for him a slower pace might have been considered a good move. Obviously it was, plus he got to be introduced to his powers. But there should have been some acknowledgement that they were also very likely going to screw up their one son's higher profile trajectory which included probably a football scholarship at a good college. They essentially took all that away from Jon with little to no thought to give him instead what is likely a far more mediocre education at a rural school with no scholarship and possibly no better college prospects than languishing at Smallville Community College. So where's the trade-off for the one son? So far the attitude has been very "whatever", which isn't what I'd expect from two parents with the resumes and careers they have behind them. Again, if exploring the family dynamics is going to be a big part of this iteration of the Superman story, I hope for better soon.
  6. I hope you're right there's more to come with the overlooked child, but I have this nagging feeling this is probably it for the season at least. I don't know what if any plans they have for the non-Mary Sue half of the Kent kids, but I'm not confident a lot of thought has gone into Jonathan beyond the incredibly superficial at this point. We certainly haven't seen any evidence of it yet. But the drinking is confusing because these kids have been underage drinking since the first episode. I thought it was problematic that's all the kids seem to have to do in this no-horse go-nowhere town. Yet at the same time it's also very believable in a place like Smallville that has little to nothing to offer anyone - even the adults much less the kids growing up there. But what's annoying is how already this show appears to be falling into the same CW series pattern where the writers don't talk to each other and don't have any clue who wrote what the episode or two before. What were we supposed to believe were in those party cups at the bonfire or the party last week - kool-aid? Come on. Besides, google your 20th century cult facts - kool-aid is deadly anyway. But the point is, they've all been drinking, so for Jordan Sue and Sarah to act all high and mighty and shocked that Jon was drinking when they've partaken just fine up to now is causing me a whiplash. I agree the writing for this coach is dreadful, because at this point it looks very much like the guy has a personal vendetta against Jonathan. I agree with whoever pointed it out before that the coach is borderline abusive. He's awful and should be fired. And Jon's own father can't be bothered to give a damn, because let's be honest, Clark really only cares about Jordan Sue. We weren't given the impression that Clark was all that interested in Jon's trajectory in Metropolis. He only gets involved with the football program here after Jordan Sue uses his powers to become an unearned superstar. I just don't understand why the showrunner and producers of this show think we're supposed to see it as awesome that one kid is literally being screwed over week after week so the other one can shine. This is another trope I have issues with - elevating one character on the broken back of another. Yeah, Luthor's motivation so far is really weak. I understand that his idea of Superman in any 'verse brings up the painful memories of how on his own earth the supe was evil and responsible for the destruction of his home world. But at some point Luthor should have learned that the worlds are different, and the people are different from one iteration to another. It's good that we were shown his initial motivation for hating on Superman, but his learning curve about this world should be faster than it is. And if he thinks he's going to force this Lois Lane to love him whether she likes it or not, that's going to veer into very rapey territory that I don't want to see.
  7. Well, if that was supposed to be Jonathan's time to receive some overdue focus in comparison to Jordan, that's seriously disappointing. He melts down for like 2 minutes, acts out for another 2 minutes, gets reprimanded by Lois, immediately turns around and apologizes to everyone because apparently he's not to be given the same latitude to be upset about his life that his brother was given. Then Clark gives some very weak speech about Jon maybe someday doing great things, without sounding like he believed it at all. I think the empty box was sadly quite appropriate - everything about this situation felt flat and empty, including if not especially his parents' very fleeting interest in Jon. Given how much focus the show and the parents have given to Jordan, this was a rip-off. It confirms my feeling that Jordan is an authorial insert and very much a Mary Sue. Really don't like Mary Sues. So Luthor's primary interest isn't just in destroying Superman, but more so trying to snag a new Lois for himself? Well, the CW does love its love triangles, even if this one is mostly in theory. Tag certainly seems to blame Jordan for what happened to him. And he's right. Without Jordan igniting the chemical around the fire that caused the mutation, it wouldn't have happened. And apparently the school they sent him to has the worst security system in the world if he can just fly out of it anytime he wants to. So it appears that Morgan's experiments with the locals are going to be very hit or miss. I predict many more epic failures. Kyle has a tough job. I think his family forgets that. But this is a trope I see in every series that focuses on cops or firefighters or members of the military. The family always acts like they don't understand what the job is about, that the hours aren't 9-5, and that they see hard things and their friends/coworkers often get hurt or killed. It screws people up. Sure, it was sweet seeing some flashbacks to young Clark and Martha. But too much else was crammed in that it didn't feel like anything really got the attention it deserved. Apparently Jon's plotlet was really only thrown in to serve as a springboard for Clark to remember his own childhood and to bring Martha back in.
  8. In reading Drabb's description of the changes to the finale, there's an even more bleak possibility for Dean's already wretched end. Some fans are suggesting - and I think they're right - that the heaven scenes would only have been shown when Sam finally died, after grieving a little and then having a FF life, etc., etc. Drabb's description of the finale that wasn't makes it clear that the big party in a crowded Roadhouse with Kansas playing would only happen in SAM & Dean's heaven, not Dean's heaven. He doesn't say crap about what would happen after Dean died - not until Sam shows up. What if not only does Drabb kick Dean to the curb and insures his least favorite character in the entire universe has no life and no legacy, but that his original intention was after Dean died the audience never sees him again until the time comes that Samantha graces heaven with his presence in the final couple of minutes. That would mean Dean dies barely halfway into the episode, and then that's it for Dean and his fans. Turn off the episode and tune back in the last maybe two minutes if you care to see Dean again. It would explain why less than zero thought was put into Dean's heaven, and why it was clearly nothing more than one-dimensional filler. I mean, even Wanek put no effort into the Roadhouse set because it wasn't needed anymore without the party aspect. Frankly I don't know why they even bothered with that set. But, hey, at least Dean got a teeny tiny bit of filler in the finale. In the original script, it's highly likely he didn't even get that. I know Jensen is trying to make the best of a situation he had no control over, but remember in the last Creation panel he still talked about Jack eventually bringing the guys back. Apparently he said the same thing in his M&G. In other words, Jensen continues to make it clear that he doesn't see that end as permanent. Why would he want to?
  9. Yeah, Donna, the donuts, Jensen in general and always with the performances. I vaguely recall these only because it's all that's of value from this episode. Sam ... I can't even without launching into a string of expletives. And the producers too who thought this was an example of tough love or something? I swear almost the entire writing team from the Carver years onward especially must have been seriously damaged to think they were doing right by these characters. I only watched this episode once. I know Jensen is stellar in it - but really when isn't he? But I could never stomach to watch it more than the once because ... Sam. 🤬
  10. Well, I was right in thinking Sam Lane had a backup plan for containing Superman/his damn SiL whenever he feels like it. At this point his issue with Supes seems more in line with the guy not jumping each and every single time Sam says jump - not so much that he's really worried he's going to break bad. And Morgan is planning on creating his own little Kryptonite-infused army, thus his interest in Smallville. I wonder how many Smallville kids are going to end up being sent to Metahuman Hogwarts by the end of the season? Is this really going to be a thing - are we going to see it? Once again poor Jonathan gets screwed over by Jordan, as what looks to be his one and only friend has to go away because of something Jordan did at the bonfire. And I fear I'm now actively hating on Jordan. His whole "whatever, boo-hoo" attitude toward Jonathan's increasing feelings of being lost and an outsider puts him in full-on asshole territory, especially considering Jonathan still, after everything, puts Jordan's needs first. And his parents continue to not really notice or care about what's happening with Jonathan. WTF? Seriously, Lois, I wouldn't be holding yourself and Clark up as the perfect models of parenthood to your dad given your inability to recognize that Jonathan needs a little attention from you. Glass houses and all, sister. No, I'm not buying these kids are 14. If Superman could have thunderclapped his way out of Kilgrave's sonic ray anytime he felt like it, why didn't he do that in the first place? Yeah, we're supposed to see that it's because his kids needed him, and the papa bear part of him is stronger than anything else despite the fact he doesn't notice Jonathan most of the time. Still, it doesn't make a lot of sense. I actually liked Lois and Lana commiserating over shots. But I think it was a little fast for Lana to decide by the next morning that everything was hunky dory with her hubby. I did like seeing Kyle making breakfast for the girls, it felt like the first little layer we've really seen of him in four episodes. I assume he'll soon discover his association with Morgan Edge isn't a good thing after all. At least, I hope so.
  11. I sincerely hope so, because at this point if anyone isn't human here it's Jonathan Kent. That poor kid is getting screwed over nine ways to Sunday, and he's fine with it? Yeah, no, it shouldn't be this way. He deserves to meltdown hard. His parents need to start paying a little attention to Jon for a damn change and stop expecting him to simply behave like he's Jonathan Kent Sr. putting everyone's needs above his own. He's not the parent, and it's time for the actual parents to give a damn. I'm starting to worry that Jordan is the showrunner's insert and it's all going to be Jordan Jordan Jordan! with no focus on Jonathan who is quickly becoming overdue for some real attention by his parents, especially his father, and the school. Gotta be honest, don't like where this is headed with the kids so far. The first two episodes were okay, even though I didn't like that Clark didn't include Jonathan in the trip to the Fortress, but now I'm actively pissed. Let's just say unless or until something changes, I'm Team Jonathan. Aside from that, looks like we got some new baddies - are they all working for Morgan Edge? Is Morgan Edge even human, do we really know? And I like that Lois's editor on that small local paper is not a complete idiot or pushover. Don't really care about Sarah and her ex-BF who in the first two episodes never really came off like gf and bf anyway. And despite the fact that Lana's life sucks, I still can't warm up to her. I certainly hope we're not headed to a situation where she and Clark start getting closer. It honestly wouldn't make sense, I can't see how this iteration of Clark would even consider it. But this is a CW show, so that possibility is still there - also with the kids, and again, Team Jonathan here doesn't want to see poor Jon screwed over in that respect either. If he gets a gf eventually he deserves it to be someone better and who truly likes him for him, and not as Jordan's sloppy seconds.
  12. I was positive they would, the same thing happened with that special tee-shirt from Hot Topic a couple years ago. And they'll do a third printing if warranted. Trust me, they want our money.
  13. It's expensive, but quite honestly a lot less than I feared it would be. I too was thinking at least $150. And like I said, not buying the dvd set which was, what, over $300? So at this point for me $95 is almost a steal only by comparison.
  14. Now this I'll pony up for, especially since I'm not buying the dvds. And yeah, I suspect it will be expensive. I saw one person who was either in the M&G or a one-on-one say he was in the basement or very bottom level of the house they're living in now. I'm guessing it's the same area/room where he has recorded music for the third album with Steve Carlson when Steve came to CO to work on that. Yes, in the last virtual con they did a few months ago, he said either in the panel or, again, in a M&G that he was told to grow his hair and beard as long as possible for his first scenes on The Boys.
  15. Two episodes in and I'm very surprised to find how much I'm actually liking this show. However, I do think the racism angle, intentional or not, with both Luthor and Sarah's BF cast as the bad guys of color was one big tone deaf misstep, and I hope we see a lot more shades of gray in the upcoming episodes. I'm not exactly confident that's going to happen with the BF, who ultimately I don't care about, but I'm glad we've already been shown that Luthor has a good reason for hating Superman as Supes destroyed the world he came from. We'll have to see how things progress this season with regard to Luthor's feelings about this particular iteration of Superman. It doesn't make sense that Sam Lane be turned against his SiL on Luthor's say so. Sam should know Clark/Superman a lot better than that. However, I don't believe for a second his reasoning for stockpiling all that Kryptonite is solely to keep Clark safe. I think it's clear Sam really wants it around as a backup plan if he feels it's needed. I agree that Alpha Lois is awesome. Having watched Elizabeth on Grimm, I wasn't confident she could really bring the gravitas to the role of Lois. But she does, and her chemistry with Tyler is spot on. I like the whole family dynamic, but I also agree that Clark made a big mistake not taking Jonathan to the Fortress as if he doesn't need to understand his father's family history as much as Jordan does. Shame on dad, and I don't blame Jonathan for feeling like the lesser son now, especially as the poor kid gave up a really good life to move to Smallville no questions asked. The brothers' relationship is heartwarming, though, and I hope it stays that way. I don't like either Kyle or Lana, they probably deserve each other. And I question how innocent Lana is of the goings on at her bank and Morgan Edge's involvement with snapping up family farms in Smallville. Frankly Lana would be a lot more interesting if she does turn out to be the bad guy in this situation. And I'd love to see Lois take her down.
  16. I'm in the Orlando market, I have ATT streaming, used to have Uverse but dropped the cable and went with their streaming service. And I can attest that in this large market ATT does not have a deal with the CW, so I can't get it through my streaming service. We're going to pick up a Roku and hopefully I'll be able to access the app through that. But yeah, lack of access especially in larger markets makes a difference. After the Supernatural finale fail, I honestly didn't give a damn about having access to the CW anymore. But my husband wanted to watch the premiere, and so we had to watch it off the website next day. I figured, eh, probably won't keep up anyway. And wouldn't you know it, the show is really good, we like it a lot, so now we have to jump through hoops to watch it due to lack of access to the network app for now. Luckily ratings mean absolutely nothing to the CW, so the show should run for a few seasons. Still, it's clear the CW is asking for more money than it's worth, yet it's still seen as the bottom of the barrel network. So a lot of services are simply choosing to do without.
  17. I doubt seriously this is the suit - the real one has been molded to the actor's body, like all the other actors had done with their super suits. Jensen, Kripke, and even Antony have all indicated it's very skin tight. So this could be a stand-in, or ...
  18. Yeah, I wasn't referring to the Destiel crowd, I meant rumors of legit racism and sexism problems. Apparently when they canceled Black Lightning, no one in the cast knew it until they read it on twitter.
  19. TV Line just posted the Supes & Lois show got a .4 demo, FWIW. I agree it doesn't really matter anyway since the CW doesn't make it's renewal/cancellation decisions based on ratings. If they did, the network wouldn't exist at all - nothing would air. Which IMO begs the real question what criteria they do use for those rare cancellations they make, other than lead actors not wanting to do their respective shows anymore. Rumor has it there are some serious problems at the CW - like how their claims of being pro-diversity are mostly smoke and mirrors. Are any of the SPN EP/producers working on Superman & Lois? My husband wanted to check it out, and we don't even get the CW anymore - so we watched it last night off their website. We honestly thought it was pretty good - very high quality for a CW show, especially in comparison to the last years of SPN which weren't. Sad. Are the WB shows that air on the CW still going to Netflix for second run, or are they pulling most everything to air on HBO Max now?
  20. Is that supposed to be Soldier Boy or Homelander? Either way, it works for me. LOL!
  21. They sold the lake house almost right after the Arch Digest article came out, at least two years ago. The next house they moved into was closer to downtown and looks like it was a year lease. It doesn't appear that they bought the place. They had more than one SM post showing them at the storage unit where a lot of their belongings were kept while they were in the rental. Then they bought a house even closer to downtown sometime over the summer, when I assume the lease was up. It feels very prescient that they possibly? bought a cabin in CO and moved up there in December. Certainly they were better off there than in Texas right now. But they have to be worried about family and friends, as well as their business and house, not knowing if there's any damage due to burst pipes, etc. What a mess that whole sad situation is.
  22. Hail Bacchus LI!!!! Jensen loved that experience so much, and he was masterful! 🤴
  23. Yeah, I think he said he's either not in the first episode, or possibly not until the very end of the first episode. My guess is he might head to Toronto this week or next. They're definitely still in the CO cabin. Looks like they've had a good time up there - and right now heading back to Texas could be worse given the conditions the state started experiencing yesterday. I think the entire state is under an emergency declaration. The fam may as well stay put. And I suspect they may stick around in CO for a while after he leaves for Canada. Closer flight commute, whenever the border opens up. I do love me some gumbo. Looked delish!
  24. Poor thing. I wish him a speedy recovery. Looks very uncomfortable. But do they really send you right home after replacement surgery? Wow, I hope he's being well taken care of.
