S01.E03: Three's Company or Three's Crowd?
Kyanight replied to Galloway Cave's topic in Seeking Sister Wife
I honestly don't think Angela will even care. I don't believe for a split second that she married Drew because she loves him. Her biological clock was ticking and by golly she HAD TO HAVE that baby ASAP!! She was 40, after all. She got the baby - she's content. I listened to that interview someone posted on this forum and she even admitted that it was time to have a baby so she married Drew - and mentioned her "clock". -
S01.E03: Three's Company or Three's Crowd?

I think he's making it up. Ashley was folding laundry and said it was hard for her to get around and she was looking forward to having someone to help with the housework. After that aired people were giving Dimitri a bunch of crap so he posted that they HAVE an au pair, and they HAVE a cook and a butler and a housekeeper and a laundress and a gardener and a maid and.... whatever else they've collected. Maybe he has sex with them all. ;) -
That was in 1970's. Little late for them to do research now, lol. It might have just been their own personal hangup and it had nothing to do with being Mormon.

Does first wife even still live with him? Because there was that big drama over the master bedroom. Wouldn't first wife get that room? I don't know.... I highly suspect first wife isn't even in the picture any more.

The polygamy pool might be rather slim since a lot of women are educated, proud, independent and have a healthy enough self-esteem that they don't go off seeking a husband that wants a harem full of brood mares. That leaves less women for these guys to choose from - so it helps to have the girls groomed for this lifestyle from childhood.

OHHHHHHHHH! VERY good point!!

When I read this a lightbulb went off over my head - THE TRUMAN SHOW!!!!!!!!!! ha ha ha ha ha. But seriously.
-
Because they are more likely to be virgins, perky young breasts, smooth tummies and inexperienced. Some religious leaders are the biggest hound dogs. Sorry if that offends anyone, but the news headlines (throughout history) kind of proves it.

HA HA HA HA! That song was in my head this morning.
-
The song was written in 1910 and a four man quartet made it a huge hit. I personally do not believe it was EVER meant to be sung in that high of a range that Christine insists upon.

Kody Brown: The Man Who Survived a KNIFE to the KIDNEYS!

Thank you!!! That clears up a lot! And also raises other questions - like what WERE the Browns so paranoid about? lol -
Kody Brown: The Man Who Survived a KNIFE to the KIDNEYS!

I thought the reason that THEY were so scared was because supposedly they were "flaunting" their polygamy by going on National TV? I'm oftentimes wrong, so I might be mistaken - but that is what I have been believing for all these years. I know Kody said something to that effect. They were the faces of polygamy, back when they were the only polygamy show. -
Wait - who is that dark haired lady he has his hand on? Is that the mysterious missing first wife?
-
Very interesting. I liked her more after hearing this, you feel like you to get to know her a little better than you do from the show. But - I thought it was kind of .... I don't know what word I want....Telling? Strange? that she never said she joined the family because she loved DREW - she never says she loves Drew - but she joined the family because she was going to have that little baby she wanted. She married him 13 days after really meeting him.
-
Not necessarily. I suppose there could be a lot of wives and no husband.

The Mormon family I lived with also would not eat anything with MSG in it. Back then (eons ago!) there were only TWO types of Campbell's soups that didn't have MSG and I didn't like either of them. I had no idea MSG was in canned soup!
-
Oh my gosh YES!! What the hell - doesn't ANYONE else get tired of that show?
-
All I could think of was..... and they JUST bought that house for almost 400 grand!
-
I LOVE this show! So sad not many people talk on the Chopped message board.

"I Don't Dance" is the song I know best. I don't listen to country music. You know...... back in the 1800's a lot of the Mormon's used to name their kids really unusual names. I just found an interesting article, I will copy some of it: "Maybe it’s because we’re kind of different to begin with that Mormons love oddball baby names. We’re taught from day one to be “in the world but not of the world” and that apparently applies to the way we name our kids as well. While this holds true to Mormons all over the U.S, you’ll find the most outlandish baby names in the intermountain West: Utah and southern Idaho in particular. I have met children named Wrangler, Smokey, Mersadie, Corporate (for a girl), Maverix, Jenedy, Silver, Xacian, Versailles, Rafter, and—I kid you not—R2. But Mormons still want to fit in, hence the popularity of names that sound normal, but whose spellings are anything but: Payzlee, Djaryd, Jaymz, Myrical and Jrake. Even among Utah baby names, though, there are trends. Boys’ names lean heavily towards two syllable names ending with –er, –en and –ton. While mainstream names like Jayden remain popular, it’s really better to pick something a little more unusual. Truxton perhaps? Decken, Nyler, Kyson, Teyton, Zyker, and Trusen have all been chosen for babies recently. Girls’ names almost always have a letter y in them somewhere. Mormons love the letter y. Which explains the popularity of names that end with –ley (or more commonly –lee or –leigh), and names that end with –lyn: Kyzlee, Oaklyn, Tynslee, McCartlyn, Avonlie, Chandley, Skylynne. and Chasidee. Let’s not forget other girls’ names like Drakelle, Ezrie, Aubrielle, Swayzee, Taizel, Cambria, and Alivian. Surnames-as-first-names are extremely popular for both boys and girls. But why give your child a normally spelled name when you can give her one spelled like (almost) nobody else’s? Hence the popularity of Anistyn, MaCade, Ramzy, Awstyn and Paedyn The biggest and most obvious question when you hear names like this is why? Why on earth would somebody name a baby Serandipidee? Tradition is the most obvious answer. These oddly-named babies are the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of DaLynns, Cloydeans and LaVerls. As I said before, we Mormons are used to being a little bit different, and it’s been this way for a long time."

I read some reviews. Both 5 stars and 1 star reviews. I saw that page of the book - it wasn't legible. I highly doubt ANYONE really believes a man named Sam Cooper wrote that book - but if someone were seriously that stupid... wouldn't they wonder how an illiterate ape became a millionaire businessman? I can't even imagine what the voice messages were like. I think that is one part that really makes my skin crawl - how could a woman make herself sound like a man? Wouldn't Meri have HAD to be suspicious when she was talking to "him"? I mean....?!??????
-
"Once Meri discovered that “Sam” was Jackie in August 2015, she was understandably devastated. In retaliation to Meri ending their relationship, “Sam” — who, to this day, insists their romance was the real deal — exposed the reality star’s sexts and private voicemails via “his” blog. “Sam” went so far as to write a book titled Almost Meri’ed, which was later made available on Amazon." What the hell? Has anyone read that book? Ack - went to look on Amazon. Disgusting!! I'll pass. J.O. honestly creeps me out. Big time.

For what it's worth - and you are welcome to think I am full of crap since anyone online can claim anything - but my cousin married Lee Brice (country music singer) and they named their daughter Trulee. She just liked the name - at least that's what I was told. And for the record - I've never even met him.

Or Color - Addo. Color as in COLOR with crayons. Um... nope.
