  1. I get the impression that Meri already knows all of that and would love to move on but the family puts a guilt trip on her if she tries to leave. There is honestly nothing keeping her there. Besides the nostalgia factor, I think that is the number one reason she wanted that B&B. To get away and start a life that makes sense.
  2. My oldest son is gay. I just have to say that my "Gaydar" isn't going off with Tony. I honestly think he's straight. lol In York, the owners had two houses next door to each other. They lived in one house and people stayed in the other - so there wasn't that hovering you are talking about. Although.... I guess that would be understandable because people probably come to stay and take "souvenirs" with them. That would be really weird having Meri making you breakfast. I've hardly ever seen her when she wasn't miserable and/or crying. Maybe Grandma would serve breakfast?
  3. Wasn't his mother the only bread winner for that entire honking huge family? She probably didn't have a choice. It was either rush off to work or everyone go on Welfare, lol.
  4. Well I'm sure that Tony could suggest that they sell two of the houses (and the family could then all cram into the remaining two houses) so that he could have a more elaborate wedding.
  5. I think it depends on where you go. We went to York (England) and stayed in the most AMAZING B&B. SO much better than a hotel. But I read someone's comment about wanting to go skiing and then soak up the heat from a jacuzzi and have all of the hotel amenities afterwards - NOT a B&B and I can agree with that.
  6. Can you just imagine ketchup packets getting hit with sticks/bats and exploding on the wedding guests clothes? So classy! :D
  7. I thought she was going to sell her house on the culdesac, (sorry about the spelling) but she never even mentioned that. She just wants the family to come up with enough to buy an additional house. Does anyone in that family even work? Because I doubt TLC pays THAT much!! (?)
  8. For my son's 5th birthday party his dad hung a pirate chest pinata in a tree. Before the party. It was 103 degrees that day (July 6th) and he put CHOCOLATE bars in the pinata. You would pick up one of those snack sized candy bars and the melted candy bar inside would ooze to the other end of the package. The ICE CREAM cake from Dairy Queen also melted and it was a disgusting mess. But you know what? It is probably the one birthday party we look back on (and laugh) and remember the most! lol As for my WEDDING - no. Even the Duggars don't do pinatas at a wedding. I know pinatas are cultural - but are they really a wedding tradition? Or is it something only done in recent years?
  9. I apologize in advance if this is a topic somewhere else, but I just HAD to mention this in case anyone else is as stunned as I am. First of all - when it is YOUR wedding you can do whatever you want and that is more than fair. But if you are on TV, people are free to voice their opinions. That said - UGH!!!! I am picturing these bride and groom pinatas as more than a bit ugly - and then it seems a bit weird to bash the hell out of your new spouse with a bat. Don't you get married because you are crazy in love? Ok ok, I get it - it's just for fun, and like one of the wives said (can't remember which one) - it's no different than shoving cake in each other's faces. (Which we didn't do at our wedding, but I've seen it done everywhere). Do they come up with these things for ratings/shock value? Or am I the weird person here because I just don't get it? Or am I just subconsciously jealous because I don't have a wedding invite and I won't be able to scramble on the grass for bits of candy in my nice clothes? :D
  10. Does Tony have bad facial hair? He is certainly getting bigger this season.
  11. His son-in-law, Caleb!! He looks nice. The Brown girls seem to like beefy guys!
  12. I think you are probably right. I have nothing against Derick personally - obviously I don't even know him. But I believe that when you have a wife and children it's time to find employment. (For all I know he HAS a job, now.)
  13. I SO agree! That is my chief complaint about Beat Bobby Flay. Even if the judges didn't see each dish as it was plated they would STILL know who made which dish by Bobby and his opponent's facial expressions when they give their constructive criticism.
  14. Are you sure that's wise? Are any of Derick's friends employed?
  15. Tony certainly is. I was surprised when TLC showed (once again) that scene where he suggested Kody take out a home equity loan to pay for HIS wedding! Uh - pay for your OWN wedding maybe, or go to the Justice of the Peace. No one OWES you a big wedding!!
  16. LOL! I was going to write a reply but you summed it up much better than I could! I have very mixed feelings about this show. SHOW, not episode. I'm confused as to whether I really like them - or I don't!! Not that anyone cares! ;)
