  1. I didn't get the impression that Riley even wanted to do the song, or pursue singing in the first place. She didn't seem very excited about being at the studio and singing. Kandi needs to remember that she attended the school of the arts and wanted to sing. If Kandi wants her child in the business, let's first see if Riley can pass auditions to be admitted at the school of the arts. Now if that mouth/lip issue is a physical condition, then a singing career is out. If is NOT physical, then at 14, baby-girl needs to stop trying to hold her mouth tight/twisted and learn to enunciate properly. It must be a hard conversation for an parent in the entertainment business to tell their child that they don't have "it".... "Baby you know I luv' you... but you can't _____ and need to pursue something else". Cynthia finally realized her daughter isn't tall enough to model runway (which I found odd given she and Leon are very tall), but came up with the purses(?) photo campaign, which was a good compromise.
  2. Agree. I think RHOA needs to take a break - longer than the regular off-season period - come back when there is really something to talk about. I read somewhere that RHOA was kinda like the "cash cow" of the RHO* series. So I guess that is why they are showing almost anything. Who really gives a damn who slept with whom 15+ years ago. Seeing Chateau Sheeree' finished, kinda brings the show full circle. Kandi now has her marriage and new baby, and eventually the OLG restaurant will open (link). Phadera has her law and mortuary practices along with being divorced with two kids. Cynthia is now divorced and her talking about modeling and her body upgrades is getting boring. Kenya and Porsha are just too exhausting to watch/listen to all of the time. Even Mama Joyce and the OLG have cooled their jets - a little, this season.
  3. And having Cynthia's daughter sitting in the middle of an "adult" conversion about Cynthia's past experiences. Who has their child sitting with them on the sofa during that kind of girl talk ? As much as RHOA reruns, one day those teenage girls (or heaven forbid their school/college mates) might not be too happy about how they were portrayed on the show. Show them doing teenage stuff - like going to the prom, concert, etc
  4. I've been holding off asking this, but maybe someone knows the answer. Is there an physical issue with Riley's lip/mouth/jaw area? I noticed it years ago and thought it was 'little girl shy-cuteness", but now that she is older, it's still there. She is seen now more on camera - ie the singing last night. It's like when she speaks, her lips aren't moving as much as they should...
  5. Jill lost me way back when she stood star-eyed in J&M bedroom and announced "I think I'm in love with a man I never met". Then proceeded to ask her parents if she could travel 1/2 around the world to meet Derrick in person - for the first time.
  6. Here's a Fox News Article of Lawson & his music career- dated Jan/2017... nice looking pix for the young single women (link). I wonder did he consider (or already has) developed a fan base by releasing songs on Instagram / iTunes /YouTube ? The younger-mainstream crowd stroll those sources more so than awaiting for or paying for a live concert. UPN and the show is too small of a crowd.
  7. I wonder if he works with , or been suggested/encouraged to train with a vocal coach. Its not an embarrassment to work with someone . I think in the studio, the guy working the sound board has been doing too much correcting. If so, every live performance would need the same corrections. Surely the CD couldn't have that many note miscues
  8. What was all that business with the tickets? Most concerts at churches either you come in the door at sit wherever (within reason) or they just take the ticket the door, maybe give you a stub back - ie "old school" . Scanning like you are at a major concert/athletic venue is a little beyond where Lawson is now. The look on Kellie's face when someone asked her to direct people out then back in, so they can be scanned, was priceless !
  9. umm..the band was good. But Lawson seemed off key and missed a note or two - esp. at the end of the verse. "But he's found it out.." And is it normal to record a song with one person and have another sing it, at the first performance just after its released? I know collaborations have their challenges and artists get overbooked.. I guess I'm used to the lead of the duet singing a version that is modified for one part, if the other person isn't available.
  10. FYI... Jeremy's personal testimony .. mini sermon...(link)
  11. opps... I will correct. gotta luv' the spellchecker
  12. actually I hope miss D keeps brining in guest teachers. The show and the girls need to keep growing. While I admire her ambition, Kayla is not ready to open and own her own studio. First , of all, she would be in direct competition with the dollhouse. Jackson is only so big, so she most likely would be relying on dancers that didn't make the cut at dollhouse auditions, or those following "her" b/c of her name - which is going to diminish each competition season. It was nice of miss d to give her a lesson on paying bills when you are a small business owner. And Kayla is too specialized in one type of dance. She would need to budget to bring in guest teachers - almost on a routine basis. I do think she will get there - just need time. I do wish she would have explored dancing in college and/or maybe going out for auditions to gain experience - if only to train others. I too miss the babies. The baby they featured during the 1-2 season (I forgot her name), and is in some of the older promos should be old enough to be with the big girls. I like Camryn but I don't like the idea of several-season captains, unless they audition and earn the spot. I think that is one reason the job of caption, tends to be a JR/SR, so their reign isn't too long.
  13. Agree. I think that is reason her brother broke out of the Thore-Greensboro camp, is very seldom on or talked about the show and lives in NYC.
  14. I think it depends on the type of dance troop and the competition (event) at hand. Kinda like a sports team - gotta keep changing the plays a little to keep the other team at bay. And you need to have a lot of "plays" in your playbook. Doing the same ole "showcase" will get old eventually for an audience, and for a promoter to book. We audiences want to be entertained. Yes, dance teams like the Rockettes and DCC have a trademark dance-routine that everyone wants to see, but they do have other dances in their arsenal to make the performance /show watchable. If the BGDC is about "dance" ,the group should be enthusiastic and willing to improve and learn new skills, chorographychoreography, and routines. The question is - is the teacher willing?
  15. Did I hear right ? the next episode is about Whit and someone discussing doing majorette/ hip-hop dance moves ? The clip said something about getting low...was the scene taking about dancing or something else? There is show, "Bring It", on Lifetime that has girls middle/high school age - doing majorette hip-hop, which looks like (link - about 1 min in), a movement that encompasses low (bending of the knees) moves...
  16. ok. that's a good theory/answer to my question #3 from yesterday morning. When Jinger said it , it was the 1st time I heard the grad school detail. Syracuse MBA school (link)... wow.. wow..wow..
  17. That's why I too was asking about his soccer career this morning. There is a piece of the story I don't know, either. Yes, Jeremy could have always been religious but to go from Masters program in finance/economics to soccer to ministry, doesn't add up really. Yes, people do change careers - usually after they STARTED one. This is a 180 degree turnabout. It would make sense if one always wanted to be a minister, you would get your masters in a field that is more directed towards the ministry , like theology, psychology, counseling, communications, etc. If he went into grad school to extend his ncaa playing eligibility (meaning he didn't play all 4 undergrad years), he chose a business major - odd, if you want to be a preacher. I wonder was he at least the team chaplain when he played soccer. Jeremey's not far from the stunt Derrick pulled by quitting a good paying job to "go full time in the ministry". Like you said, who said ministry has to be your full time gig? Like any business, one might have to work two jobs until one is self-sufficient , esp. now that have married. I admire the strength of their parents , Vulvo/Dillard Sr . If these "men" (and I use that term loosely) were my offspring.....let me calm down & breathe & meditate....huummmm
  18. Sorry if this is the wrong thread to talk about the latest nephew - Henry Wilberforce Seewald. It was said so fast during the broadcast of this eposide I missed it. Here's an article stating where the name came from (link). The Seewalds think too much when naming their offspring.
  19. That's another good point about stuffing the car with her current wardrobe. Jing shared rummage/goodwill finds with 4 other sisters, from a small town, for years. Now she's going to be a pastors/ministers wife. I'm not saying ditch everything and head off to Macy's , but some things might need to stay in Ark. and start a anew. I understand being modest, but some items are just plan frumpy. Given her small frame and age, some of her outfits ages her. Isn't she the smallest b/w Jana, Jill, Jessa, and Joy Anna ?
  20. I'm guess I'm just the opposite. the more unnecessary stops you make the longer it takes to get somewhere. driving 12 hrs somewhere is no joke and really not a vacation. A lot of attractions you have to venture to far off the highway to get to, which is out of the way. So either I plan to stop (ie 1/2-way ,call it a day & spend the night) or keep pushing though - getting something to eat & bathroom on the same exit as the gas station. Given they had 3 drivers, when one got tired, they could had just switched off. I do wonder how much was the car part of the problem. I would have found a PepBoys or something and turned the senor off, and to make sure that's all it was. I do agree about shipping some of that Goodwill wardrobe ahead. Or bringing some of the clothes when they brought suitcases full of homegoods on the prior visit.
  21. Check my math.... does that come out to 45 mph (780 / 17) ? I was just getting ready to mapquest it myself.
  22. Quick little questions... 1) Since they made it a big deal, now I'm curious - what make of car (suv) was it ? 2) where did Jinger and J-brother sleep during their visit ? Did J-brother sit up all night with his shotgun making sure no "touchy-feely" happened ? 3) To quote a phrase from the '70s and 'Forrest Gump" - just when did Jeremy find Jesus ? Jinger recited his "bio" like she studied it for a speech. Jeremy went to a 4 year college (majored in something), then went to grad school for economics, then played professional soccer for x-years, and now is a minister. Just what happened during his soccer career - was he: cut career ending injury no team picked up him during free agency retired out due to old age (i'm not sure how long soccer players do their sport and new college kids come in faster/better each year) last, but a doubtful choice - he wanted to leave the sport while at the top of his game (ie won championship) Sure would like to be a fly on the wall when J&J are watching tv when the daily stock exchange news comes on . TLC should have asked "what is the Dow Jones" ?
  23. wow... the idea/concept/rules of courting was new to Bobby? That statement took me by surprise. Last I heard, they were waiting until they both finished college (I think he is a year ahead of her), before marriage, which will allow the dating/getting to know process happen naturally anyway. Really didn't need to put a "name" on it. I guess that goes to show, if the guy really wants the girl, he would do and go thorough anything. Anyone found out what Bobby's major is at Pensacola Christian College ? Looks like this school is accredited (link). someone on another site thought PCC had a no PDA rule - on or off campus. Browsing the Code of Conduct (link), to verify. Yes the parasail would have been a nice private moment to "ask", but sunset dinner at sea was just as special. Looks like dinner came from Outback. :) Now this is courtship #5 for Bates... Prelude to next season.. Oh.. Alyssa looked a little "ill" on the dolphin boat ride - dark glasses and a bottle of water...hmmm. poor thing..
  24. YEEESSS!!! A best friend has been by your/each other side long enough to experience seasons of life - the good and the bad. I don't wish disappointment/harm/grief on anyone, but the Duggar style of courtship/engagement prevents waiting for natural life to happen. They are too big of a hurry to get to the alter - while life is "happy and perfect". Have they "courted" a person when they lost their job, bad days/weeks at work, failed a class in school, sibling/parent passes, financial issues, health issues, car issues, previous heartache, etc. It is nice to see how someone handles real-life stress before getting married. Not saying wait so long for an "event" to happen, though.
