We were all grumpy last week with Robyn and Kody in the episode at all. I read this today online and it becomes clear: He was there because it's his show and he needed the paycheck. Yeah. What a sweetheart. https://www.the-sun.com/entertainment/10049677/sister-wives-kody-brown-featured-christine-wedding-special-paycheck/

@Gramto6, I don't know how you do all that you do with hurting hands and jaw and such bitter cold to contend with. You are amazing! -
S18.E23: Christine & David’s Wedding Special (Part One)
altopower replied to Scarlett45's topic in Sister Wives
Lots of women don't need a man in our lives. I don't see her as cold and icy about it, more settling into a confident self without Kidney. Yeah, she may be bitter about him and how things fell apart, especially with her kids, but I don't think she is for herself as much as she's happy he's gone. -
Of course Tony looks like a slob when everyone else is all dressed up. Okay, that's all for this week, gang. Next week - the actual wedding.
-
I barely recognize Christine's girls now that they're older. Except Mykelti, of course since we've seen her more often. And Truly. But the others just confuse me.
-
What matters today is that she's with Christine as she gets married, with her children around her.
-
I think she HAS left, but she's still living in Flagstaff where 3 of her children are. She's also giving herself some space away from Christine which I think is healthy.
-
I love that Christine has both of her parents with her for that wedding. And almost all of the OG kids.
-
Maybe it's just that they haven't needed to use the term before in a family relationship?
-
Meri does seem genuinely happy for Christine, unlike Kody and Crybrows.
-
Maybe Christine's sister's grandson? Or maybe David's? I missed who he was for sure too. I missed it, too. But it was David and Christine showing the glasses to him, not Kody. He was pouting with Crybrows.
-
Christine is so giddy, it's really fun to see.
-
Wow, Kody has The Visor AND his sunglasses. That's a bit of overkill, dude.
-
All of these ladies have really long hair.
-
I'm hoping I can keep track of who everyone is.
-
Just turned the channel and bam, there were Kody and Robyn. Blech.
-
Agreed. I had chickenpox in the early 1960's and my brother's class had measles, so we were home together and gave them to each other. Our spots had spots! I think my mom was ready to kill both of us. If one of the Padrons gets either disease, you know they will give it to the others. That's just how it works.

Thrive Without Janelle: The Accountability Group

Be careful, @Gramto6! You still have 12 days before you get to the hand doctor - who had better have an excellent explanation for the pain and stiffness, as well as an excellent treatment. Will say some prayers for that. Good luck with the dentist today. I saw mine on Tuesday, which was NOT my favorite way to start a new year. But pain is pain; I hope they can help with that without it costing the earth. -
That's because they ARE petty, small, moronic idiots. He blames Christine for everything so maybe Robyn doesn't expect that Christine can be happy anywhere. Which shows she's not watching the show.
-
Was that a Mormon marriage? I would think so, although Meri grew up in polygamy and I assume her brother did as well. So it's possible it was a first marriage, just to the wrong person from Janelle's perspective. But in any case, we don't know that it was simply a civil divorce and didn't have a church-approved official break. If she had one of those before, it could explain why she's thinking she needs one from Kidney (I like that name).
-
I think that's exactly it. Meri "found" and nurtured Robyn into the family, and gave up her position as legal wife so Kody could adopt Robyn's kids. And she obviously adores their children, at least the tenders. Christine and Janelle have six children each and most of those 12 kids are very close, so the two of them have a lot in common. Robyn only really cared about her own children. Christine and Janelle didn't trust Robyn from the beginning and seeing Meri consistently supporting Robyn and Kody would have lumped Meri and Robyn together as separate from the Moms. Seeing how badly Kody treated Meri would have made me feel sorry for her - but not enough to overlook the Meri/Robyn connection. We've noticed that anything said to Robyn or Kody gets repeated to the other one. Christine and Janelle would have noticed that too.

This was after he announced he was doubling down on patriarchy, right? Didn't Janelle say, "That's not what I signed up for"?

S18.E22: Look Back: How It's Going (Special Episode)

Wonder therapist Nancy indeed. I thought at the time that she was worthless but honestly, she was worse than that. I always thought that Kody was paying her on the side to not help the wives at all. -
Robyn Brown: She wanted the family, but got stuck with the man.

I agree with all of your mixed metaphors :) My brain worked the same way. Robyn was in the mix at the very beginning and I can imagine the storyline discussion with TLC about this 4th wife, young and pretty with children, becoming part of this solid polygamist fambly. You bet your bippy that's why the show was greenlighted and they covered up/hid so much. I wonder how much more clear that is to them now when they look back in hindsight. Tho I seriously doubt Kody and Robyn do much of that. -

OR he is a giant asshole who went online and found his soulmates in the "manosphere" and from there changed into something different.
