S19.E06: He Delivered Me from All My Fears
altopower replied to Mod-Tranquilizer's topic in Sister Wives
Agreed. That's probably one of the many reasons she went to the AUB to get a release from him, so there would be no ties at all, and no reason to have to see him. Leon is old enough to have a relationship or not with Kody and any of their siblings. Meri can stay out of it and live her own life. More power to her. -
S19.E06: He Delivered Me from All My Fears

You summed it up beautifully. What a trainwreck this guy is. I hope the OG3 - and Robyn, too, though I don't like her - are wondering how the heck they ended up married to him and staying for so long when he's a raging egotistic lunatic. -
“I know Christine did me a favor by being brave enough to leave.” Hmmm. Well then, so much for the knife to the kidneys and all that TIME WASTED on loving her. Hmmm.
-
Every time I see this guy, I want to shave his head. Then he opens his mouth and omg, what a jackass.

Kody lives in his own world and always has. I was glad that Meri was able to get the release that she wanted to be permanently free of Kody in the eyes of the church. She took her vows 32 years ago seriously; Kody took the same vows at the same time but blew them off when they were no longer compatible with the way he wants to live his life. Kody said earlier (don't remember the season) that in polygamy, the husband can't ask the wives to leave; they have to decide that for themselves. But he is surprised, confused, and angry when they do exactly that. Even though he doesn't want to be married to them anymore, he can't stand that they're thwarting his idea of patriarchy, which changes on a whim. This show is mind-twistingly stupid. Except for the kids and the OG3. Kody is a great example of someone to avoid at all costs.

Oh yeah. You know he was seriously pissed. He didn't want to be tied to her in any way, shape, or form, but for her to pursue and get the release, and especially on grounds of abandonment, was a knife to what's left of his kidneys.

Thrive Without Janelle: The Accountability Group

Wow, @Gramto6, you are amazing! I'm exhausted just from reading your updates about all of those cats. You've done wonders and I hope you get a well-deserved rest - and now you have a sore mouth plus the hand that will soon be out of commission, so a rest probably isn't the cards. But maybe a little one over the holiday weekend? -

This is such a huge project, @Gramto6! I'm so impressed and hope the cats continue to be cooperative. You certainly are getting lots of steps in while you do all this! -

Awwww, thank you! I've just been over my head busy with a project for my senior living community, where I'm chair of the dining committee. We have a new menu project going on and I designed all the menus without any experience, just a lot of time available. Not what we're serving, but the actual physical menus. Hit a big milestone this weekend. I'm now down NINETY (90) pounds! My BMI is down 16 points, and I keep changing sizes. It's a good problem to have, though, so no complaints :) -

@Gramto6, you are AMAZING! I've been gone for a while but just now caught up with your garage work as well as your steps, and I'm so impressed! Looking forward to seeing it finished :) -
I think she left with all the other mods who resigned. Okay, @Salacious Kitty, I missed it, too. Things were down and then I went and did other things. Did a ton of mods leave? Where can I go read about it and catch up?

Go me! I've now lost 80.8 lbs since my birthday in July, 46 of them since my surgery just before Thanksgiving. I feel good and am committed to continuing until my body decides it's ready to stop. -

I hit a milestone today with my weight loss: I'm now down 75 lbs in 7 months. Go me! I had gastric sleeve surgery just before Thanksgiving and have lost 40 lbs since surgery date, but the rest came off before. I'm not finding it all that hard to do, but almost everything in my mouth needs to have protein in it. I don't miss cookies or cakes but I do miss bread. Not enough to eat it because it's a trigger food and I don't trust myself. Cheese, tho? Yumm! -

Hope you've been okay, @Gramto6, while the forums were down. I thought about you and hoped the weather and the kitties cooperated! -

Yayyyyy for running water! Soooo glad that got fixed. You did without for far too long. Your body needs the rest and some pampering. Relax and let yourself just BE for a while. You deserve it! -
Maybe he's a "just for now" relationship for Meri. It's nice that they've been seeing each other for a few months but that doesn't mean they're engaged.

S18.E24: Christine & David's Wedding Special (Part 2)
altopower replied to Scarlett45's topic in Sister Wives
I'm thinking it's a combo of school commitments (organic chemistry midterm is nothing to sneeze at) plus knowing Paedon would be there. Of course Christine wanted her there but she knew in advance and I'm sure Gwen and her mom talked it out. I'm sorry Gwen missed what was a really fun family event including her grandparents being there. -
I loved Gabe saying that it felt like the Brown family was back. Or at least the OG family (my addition). They've all been through so much for the past few years that having them all except Gwen was a treat and a celebration.
-
Because it's his show and he needs the paycheck. Maybe it's in the contract that he is part of every episode?
-
The Brown Family Mosh Pit had a great time without you, Kody. Dork.
-
Meri certainly seemed genuinely happy for Christine and David, and looks to be in a good place herself. That's nice to see.
-
I love how well the families were getting along at the wedding. And I haven't heard a single child say they want polygamy although they're so happy to have so many great siblings.
-
That was a super fast ceremony! Now what are they going to do for the rest of this hour?
-
Interesting. No attendants, just Christine and Paedon walking her down the aisle to her dad. And then daddy walked her down to David.
-
Do you think Christine will actually get married today? Oh, I like how the girls' hair is done the same way Christine's is arranged. Wow, that's a lot of little people coming!
