Yeah, she can just replace sister wives on the chairs with daughters on the chairs.

I quit watching when Meri was crying over Stonehenge. It seemed like a huge leap to go from the Kody cry fest in Parowan to her being so elated in England, all within 20 minutes. Everything in their lives drags out for months and years but hey, Meri can take herself off to England and be FREE in no time. Yeah, after 30 years, chicklet. I don't trust Kody about anything at all, especially where money is involved. In this case, Money = Coyote Pass division, which we all know will be unfair. Ho hum, don't really have to watch any of it to know it will be mind bendingly bad. I don't really care anymore and had been hanging on by a thread as it was.

Lots of crying - Kody bawling like a baby over his favorite ex-wife, the same one he ignored and belittled for years. And of course, Robyn, as usual. I wouldn't recognize her without the crinkled face and sobs. Will she rilly miss Meri? Of course not, or she would have had more contact with her before Meri skipped town.

Back when they all spoke to each other. It's been a while, other than those excruciating socially distanced chats in Robyn's back yard with Kody being dramatic.

Maybe other places don't want the cameras?

It doesn't work, does it. Every time he looks out with those intense dark shark eyes and the floppy hair, I think he looks more like Charles Manson. It's not a better look.

OMG, Kody thinks that Janelle doesn't want to be the one to break things up? Really?
-
Bingo. You hit the nail on the head. They're not any different! Same content, different plaid shirt but same curly mop for Kody, but everything else seems the same. Why do we even watch it?

And I do not really care about Christine's new ring. Glad she got one, but meh.

So Kody wants to make his family whole again. Do we think this will work?

Thrive Without Janelle: The Accountability Group

I didn't pay anything for them. Not sure if it was Medicare or my Part B supplement (Mutual of Omaha) that paid, or maybe both, but I had nothing out of pocket to pay - and believe me, those things are not cheap! Really the expense is for the pump itself, but the leg sleeves (or there are arm ones if that's what you need) are expensive on their own. My therapist started me with "basic" pump that had 4 chambers in the leg sleeves. After using it for a few months, he put in for an upgrade for pump and sleeves that have 8 chambers, so more precise compression. Each area can be separately set for more or less compression. My first set was already paid for, so he took them to give to someone w/o insurance coverage, with my blessing. Oh - and my regular compression socks can go in the dryer, according to the person who fitted me for them. They're from Jobst and cost about $200/leg (!) but Medicare paid for all of it this year. What a relief!! -

Correction - the name of the law that covers compression is the Lymphedema Treatment Act, not Therapy Act. Still works, tho :) The idea is that you have a pair of compression garments to wear, one to wash, and one to dry at the same time. I only have 2 pair but it's still a huge savings. Glad I could share the info with y'all and hope it helps! -
And also that she NEEDS the same size house because she WANTED lots more children and it wasn't as though she didn't try to have more, so she shouldn't be penalized. Or words to that effect. I mostly just remember the Wet Bar of Tears.

Good news on this! The Lymphedema Therapy Act went into effect in 2024, and insurance now covers 3 pairs of custom compression twice a year! Well, I know Medicare does and usually what they cover, other insurance companies also cover. Each pair is soooo expensive to pay out of pocket, so this has been a huge help. The clothing swap time is definitely crazy - and moving things to a Pod while they work on your house? No wonder you got so many steps in! Take care of yourself and rest when you can. -

I have lymphedema and lipidema. Yayy me. My right leg and foot were very swollen and tight, and doctors kept giving me more diuretics which did nothing. Once I got connected to a lymphedema therapist, everything changed. The fluid retention was lymph fluid that couldn't move; diuretics weren't the solution at all so I stopped them. I now have custom made-to-fit knee high compression socks and a set of "moon pants" from toe to groin that hook up a pump that I use for at least an hour a day. It's very relaxing, actually, and it compresses from the toes up. My right leg is smaller by 3 inches from a year ago and I feel lots better. What helps is eating clean, drinking lots of water, and getting movement into my life. Not easy since I'm in a wheelchair, but we can always move more. -
Taking this from the live thread: Me, too. But really all they've done (except the wedding) for multiple seasons is sit around and talk to each other, usually outside. It was way more fun when the kids were younger and wanted to go DO things like hikes and crafts and had parties and there were big family gatherings. Of course, we also had cringeworthy family church services and trips to the family therapist, and kvetching that Kody wasn't being fair. Oh wait, we still have that. But we also don't have most of the kids, either, and who can blame them for wanting to just live their lives for themselves? We also don't have that stupid joolry business, either, which is fine with me. So we're left with more watching them talk separately and not even usually in groups of two, just to the camera. No more Salsa Brava vists for this group. I do like screen-on-screen insets with OG wives laughing at Kody and Robyn's talks. But this can't go on forever, and if it does, I'm not watching it.

Oh, please don't remind me of Kody dancing in any context!

I wanted to fast forward through the Christine/David wedding stuff. Cringy old news since we know they got married and we know where - because there was a two-part wedding special already!
-
OMG. Did Robyn just say her wedding wasn't about her?? It was ALLLL about her! And the others had to wear those hideous brown dresses. And Kody picked your dress, and you had the aisle to walk down, and all the things. Bitch.

Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore
altopower replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
That sounds very likely. Wasn't his name on all of the properties? He's sneaky and I could easily see Kody and Robyn selling the CP property and immediately investing in another huge mansion so there's room for ALLLLL the family to gather. Gag me with a spoon. -

And I love her glasses! -
I would take any opportunity I could to run away from that crazy family. I hope he is doing well on his own away from them, and am proud of him for joining the other older "kids" in having a life off-screen.

I think having each other growing up was a huge help in coping with having minimal attention from their dad. Yes, I'm sure there was jealousy, but the OG13 grew up together and didn't know anything different. It was what it was. And no matter what, they had the moms and each other. They still do.

S19.E06: He Delivered Me from All My Fears
altopower replied to Mod-Tranquilizer's topic in Sister Wives
And the children are always referred to as "Janelle's kids" or "Christine's kids," never "OUR kids." That gives him a degree of separation from them. I believe he loved them as much as his stilted self could when they were little and adored their wonderful daddy. But once they hit Vegas and even moreso in Flagstaff, they were separate and Kody spent more time with Robyn and the Robynettes, The now-teenager kids were out in the world for the first time and seeing relationships in a new light. They got closer to each other and to their moms, and that's the family that's left of the original bunch. Kody is out in the cold with Robyn and their weird art.
