I have a feeling any Felicity/Curtis scenes in the next couple of episodes, even if they start out being about the company, will end up being more about the team split than anything else. They've already had them argue about the company before the split and we got Curtis' whole "you don't trust me, ignore when I fed you tracking nanites without telling you last year" thing in 609. You know there's going to be drama when it comes to the company, and it's easy to see them use that to stall progress in that storyline.

What I don’t like is even when Felicity has a storyline, the CW won’t promote it, not like they promote the masks, especially BS and Dinah. Sometimes it seems like they promote those two more than Oliver.
-
I'm going to blame the promotion over the summer for me getting annoyed any time Black Siren or Dinah is mentioned in an episode description. Am I supposed to care that Oliver and Dinah are going to face off? Because I don't. Let them fight. I don't care what they disagree about because I'll likely be on Oliver's side since I can't stand Dinah this season. And since I doubt Felicity or Diggle will end up in danger, leaving Curtis and Rene, I doubt I'll care about that. But is this perhaps what WM (I think?) was talking about in an interview when she mentioned Dinah's new attitude this season and it affecting the team? Or whatever that quote was?

Don’t you know every person BS kills/tries to kill is her getting one step closer to redemption?
-
Finally a new promo, but too much of the newbies, only one shot of Felicity, no Lance, that moment of Thea might be the only time we see her in that episode, too much Black Siren (give me something from Anatoly instead), and again, too much of the newbies. Are we supposed to care about the newbies? I don't. They should've taken out at least one of those newbies moments and replaced it with Felicity (asking for Olicity would probably be too much). I do wonder how long they're going to have Diggle out of the field. Looks like we see his new suit in the promo (right?), but how are they going to deal with his injury? Miracle cure?

The Starling City Times: News and Media about Arrow
insomniadreams88 replied to Grammaeryn's topic in Arrow
That was ... exactly what I expected from an article with that title from that site. I'm not even going to touch on the whole developing female characters/love interest bit. Calling Dinah Drake Dinah Lance just makes me want the show to give us a Quentin Lance/Dinah Drake romance. I'm assuming that whoever wrote this is assuming that if not for Olicity, they would have done something completely different with E2 LL to even consider an OQ/E2 LL romance and recast the role, considering 1) she's a villain who worked with a villain who kidnapped his son and killed his son's mother, so really, I don't see how that relationship could ever work with the same story and 2) that wouldn't solve the anti-chemistry problem between SA and KC. I also can't get over this: Something about this sentence (especially the part I bolded) just rubs me the wrong way. Maybe it's because it's written on that site. -
You know, I may not be a fan of the Vigilante storyline, but I do want to see more of him - mainly only to get an explanation as to why he’s working with the other villains and when/how he learned Oliver is GA and Dinah knows he knows. They’ve at least set up a couple questions about him I want answers to this season. The same cannot be said of Dragon. I don’t care to know anything about him.

I'm already picturing 611 going, "okay, so Cayden's targeting X, Y, Z, what's going on at those places today?" "Hmm, nothing here, nothing there, hmm, class trip there, wait, that's where William's field trip is!" Cue Oliver rescuing William as the Green Arrow - maybe with the newbies taking care of random thugs 1, 2, 3, etc., when he realizes he's going to need help since Diggle can't come in the field with him (I'm assuming that'll still be true then?) and possibly after an attempt to take care of everything on his own - and William immediately knowing it's his father. Cue conversation about Oliver going out as the Green Arrow and lying to his son about it. As for the team inevitably coming back together, I just don't want the newbies to expect to be on the same level as OTA and I don't want the show to put them on that level when that happens. Curtis better get over his feelings about that division ASAP (a.k.a. before the team's back together).
-
Dinah and BS will be busy having a scream-off. I just hope they don't have the newbies save William, thereby showing Oliver he does need them and look, instantly forgiven for everything because they saved his son.
-
The 610 photos are kind of disappointing? The good: OTA, Cayden James, Thea The bad: The newbies toasting. The newbies in general. The fact that Vigilante sitting there with all those weapons/ammo screams "he's totally a villain, it makes total sense he's working with villains, don't question it, look at all those weapons!"
-
Yeah, if I could only choose one newbie to leave permanently by the end of this team split, it would be Curtis. Since they seem to be set on "we need to have a Black Canary," I'd rather have Dinah than any sort of redeemed BS/some LL from another Earth (because I honestly wouldn't put it past them). While Rene's attitude is bothering me again, I'd still take him over S5/S6 Curtis. Partly because I still don't know what Curtis brings to the field other than his T-spheres that anyone could probably use? (Mostly because S5/S6 Curtis is really annoying.) And I don't want him in the bunker, doing things that Felicity would have done herself before his character existed on the show.
-
Even forgetting about Rene testifying, how can anyone trust him in the field? Still can't believe that Rene and Curtis turned off their comms during a mission - a mission where they knew Felicity and Diggle didn't have any eyes or ears other than the newbies inside - and thought that wasn't a major problem. And the thing is, I don't see Rene's attitude changing in the field, considering at the moment he needed to obey/should have obeyed every single order, he couldn't. So they can find a way to resolve the matter of him testifying (likely in some messy/stupid way), but that's not the only issue.
-
That episode was just completely disappointing. I had a feeling when last season's finale ended that it would end up being a vision of Scully's and I'm annoyed I was right. But it was the only way they could do it and go back to stand-alone episodes the next week. Don't even get me started on the William reveal. WTF.

The thing is, do we know of any evidence the FBI has besides Rene? You could argue that whatever the FBI had wasn't strong enough if Watson needs Rene to testify against Oliver, if she's willing/needs to give Rene immunity (presumably) for everything he's done, in order for him to not end up separated from his daughter in the end after testifying - which makes me wonder if she either has more evidence against him than against Oliver or Rene's just an idiot and accepted a statement that she does. (For all we know, Watson looked at the fact that Rene's working in City Hall and figured there had to be a reason he was hired seemingly out of nowhere and that reason is he's on Oliver's team, went to him and said, "I know you're a vigilante too and I can keep your daughter from you," and he agreed to testify. So maybe she didn't even have evidence against him.) You would think if she had enough evidence against Oliver, she wouldn't need Rene and would instead choose to take down both of them/the entire team. Because instead, it looks like Rene made a deal to give up Oliver while he can still run around as a a vigilante, doing whatever he wants (which could end up including killing people, even if it's just random thug #1).

That is the closest - and the only situation in which - a live action Oliver Queen should get to the comics look. I just don’t think I’d find a GA that looked like the comics version all that intimidating in a live action TV show/movie. -

1.15 - OTA, Felicity standing up to Oliver 2.10 - jealous Oliver. All the UST. Still remember watching it for the first time and being convinced they had to kiss at some point in it because it would be ridiculous if they didn’t. (Honorable mentions to 2.01, 2.08/209 because I loved Barry’s introduction and 2.23.) 3.20 - I didn’t hate S3, but there are only a few episodes I’ll rewatch. Loved Olicity’s first time, of course, and liked the escape attempt. 4.03 - OTA working together/getting drinks, Oliver and Diggle talking. (Honorable mention to 4.09 since it managed to make me not think about Oliver lying to Felicity every scene like I did in 4.10-4.14.) 5.20 - All the Olicity and OTA moments. Didn’t even mind the newbies. 6.04 - Olicity, plus finally seeing ME as Cayden James. Loved supportive Oliver. -
I think it was poorly organized so that if an actor wanted to be in the front even if he/she shouldn’t have been, they could have. Publicists should have reorganized them for the photos/organized a series regular photo/etc. but just didn’t bother to do so. Also, I don’t particularly like when there’s a large group photo like that and anyone in it - especially in the center - is doing something that draws attention like that.
-
Yep. Wasn’t that when he was working for Darhk? Also, the wording of their “criticism” bothers me too. It’s like they have to come up with the worst way to say something to make sure their hate gets across.
-
I felt more from her childhood than just being on her mother’s side because that line seemed to be more than “between you and my mom, I’m on my mom’s side.” That could have been accomplished with “I know my mom” or something like that. Though we’re probably giving it more thought than whoever wrote the line.

What bugs me about some of the stuff on that reddit list is that I bet some people who hate on Felicity for those things would probably have completely different opinions if Laurel had been in her position. If Laurel had, for some inexplicable reason, been able to stop the nukes/redirect that last one, they'd be praising her for sending it to the less populated city. If Laurel had walked out on Oliver, they'd say she was right because they were engaged and he shouldn't have lied to her. Etc. Now, the bail money was stupid. (And I also can't help but wonder if they simply went with the easiest option - "Felicity has money from investors, we need tension between Curtis and Felicity and there's already some about the company in this episode, we don't really know the status of the Queens' finances because that depends on the week/we don't keep track really," etc.) And Felicity's "because you're a man" comment to Lance did bother me a bit, but at the same time, the show has only done the bare minimum in exploring her issues from growing up without a father/him reappearing in her life/etc., so an argument can be made that Felicity hasn't either and that factors into her judgment.
-
Just read through the reddit list and wow: 1) That was for a team mission, and if she hadn't given them the money, people would probably say "how dare she interfere with a team mission." 2) All she did was provide the money, it wasn't her idea. This was just done oddly. Everyone thought she was moving out and then it turned out he did and it's not like he didn't know considering he was talking about the movers. Instead, it actually ended up looking like Oliver left Felicity to pack up his stuff, so, uh, not on her at all. When exactly? When she was forced to go along with a fake wedding that she didn't want to do and no one considered her feelings? But she didn't refuse to testify? All she did was inform Laurel that she and Oliver were no longer together so she couldn't testify as his fiancee. Wasn't just Felicity. And was completely justified.
