I'll be shocked if Thea doesn't leave Star City when Roy does (or the episode after at the latest). I'm also assuming his return is going to be connected to Oliver's trial in some way and that's the "urgent matter with high stakes for the team."
-
I feel like I appreciate Roy more now than I did when he was on the team. Especially considering the newbies in 609 and what I assume we'll get from them moving forward trying to form their own team.

Yeah, if you had told me at some point in the last two seasons that there were any extended interactions between Felicity and William coming up, I wouldn't have cared. But the kid's not that bad when they actually write for him (and for his age). That being said, I'd probably gladly trade every single one of his scenes this season for a multi-episode arc involving Felicity's father.

Thinking about it, it only makes sense that BS letting Lance go is part of Cayden’s plan. If she’d killed him, yes, there’s a chance the team could have still split, arguing over what happened in the field, but it’s more likely that they would have banded together after his death to go after BS/Cayden even harder. I don’t know if Cayden would have wanted to take that risk.
-
Yeah, I'll be surprised if this doesn't happen. I do wonder what WH's episode count is for the season.
-
This is what I'm thinking. Which makes me think that she could easily tell him later on, "okay, you need to testify against the entire team or I'll take Zoe away," so really, I have no idea why anyone is trusting Rene right now. We don't know everything about the deal Rene made with Watson or what kind of lawyer he has or anything.

First of all, I wonder how long this new team is even going to last. Can they even function in the field together? Especially considering I'm assuming Curtis will be stuck on comms for them (so no field work for him). Am I to believe that Rene and Dinah won't butt heads in the field? Sure... Also, I really don't see how Felicity and Curtis can work together considering his anger over being spied on (forgetting he tracked her by having her eat nanites without knowing it last season) and the problems they've already had concerning the company. Am I to believe that trust issues won't spill over into their work with Helix Dynamics? Honestly, I'm rooting for the newbies to fail.

Yeah, especially that part. I think if they really wanted to start setting up a redemption arc, they should have had BS knock out Thea in the quickest/least painful way possible. Considering they made it a point that Thea's still recovering - Lance even said it as they were walking down the hall, so BS should have heard it - it should have been no problem for BS. Instead, we got the throw into a wall/line about how she'd put her back in a coma. (Maybe they should have still done this to get the audience wondering, at the very least, if a redemption arc was possible. They could have had BS go easy on Thea and then let Lance go in the same episode. It could have even still been part of Cayden's plan, to have BS showing these possible moments of "maybe she isn't all bad" to different members of the team, all part of his plan to split everyone up.)

Rewatch notes: Liked Dinah and Lance dancing. I kind of still wish they were going to get together. (Though, I suppose, we never know what could happen.) Curtis' "Oliver and Felicity got their happy ending, which is all that matters, to Oliver at least" is even worse the second time around. Seriously, shut up, Curtis. Question: When did Vince learn Oliver's GA? Dinah and Vince's conversation just treated it like a fact he knew, so I feel like I forgot that happening on-screen? Seriously, Michael Emerson could probably say anything at all, and I'd gladly listen to him. I think everything we saw from Cayden and BS could easily be part of Cayden's plan. He reminds her she's to kill Lance in front of Lance. Then he tells her to kill Lance in front of Oliver after he reveals he knows the amplifier was sabotaged. I'm going to assume he knew what Oliver's bow could do because of the cameras since it all ended like he wanted to - team split up. All that fighting really allowed was Cayden the opportunity to escape since he's not a fighter. Having BS let Lance go plants the possibility that BS could be redeemed in Lance's mind, which could drive a wedge between Lance and the team. Basically, it could go either way - BS did exactly what Cayden wanted the entire time or she did choose to let Lance go herself.

I wouldn't mind this. I like Anatoly as Oliver's villain and against the team on his own, but I don't know how I feel about him on a team of villains, you know?

Overall, I liked the episode. Not my favorite of the season so far, but it was good. LOVED the wedding reception. Loved Oliver and Felicity's love. Loved the heart eyes, the gazing, the dance, everything about Olicity. Just give me all the OTA moments. I love seeing them work together. These are people who have earned each other's trust and I will fight anyone who even tries to suggest otherwise. Really liked Lance giving Oliver the watch and their conversation. I could have done with a conversation between Felicity and her father instead of most of Donna's stuff (and I do generally like Donna, just, if you have Tom Amandes, take advantage of that. USE HIM. Especially with all there is to explore between Felicity and her father.) The newbies. Ugh. Hated pretty much all of them for the entire episode. Let's look at the facts. OTA has been working together for 6 years. Curtis came along two years ago. Rene and Dinah a year ago. Gee, I wonder who's going to be on the "automatically trusted" list. Liked Rene's speech at the reception, but that was mostly because Curtis was a mess. However, his betrayal kind of ruined it. Don't even get me started on Curtis. I'll just say shut up, Curtis, and that'll cover everything about him in the episode, okay? (Especially since he seems to have forgotten just why his relationship with Paul ended. Did he hit himself in the head with one of his T-spheres while he was throwing it around in the field one day and forget last year?) Dinah continues to annoy me like she has for most of this season so far. Bye, newbies. Please, never come back. We won't miss you. I don't care that Black Siren let Lance go. I don't care that apparently cake was a bonding moment for them. She's evil, she can't be redeemed, and is everyone supposed to forget she attacked a woman who just came out of a coma and told her she'd put her back in a coma? I do like that Cayden is the leader of the team of villains (seriously, give me as much ME as possible), but I don't like the camera in the bunker because I feel like someone should have found it in the past couple of months. Once they know a villain has been in the bunker, they should do a complete, very, very thorough search.

Cayden: "Don't kill." Black Siren kills. Cayden: "Kill." Black Siren doesn't kill.
-
Shut up, Curtis and Rene. But not by turning off your comms.
-
Shut up, Curtis.
-
Not the time for a "hoss," Rene.
-
Oliver and Felicity better get a honeymoon at some point.
-
Hold on, did Curtis really just wonder why he lost Paul? Was he there for their scenes last season or no?
-
Shut up, Curtis.
-
You know what I would have liked? A conversation between Felicity and her father before the reception. You know, when he first showed up in town since we've had zero indication that they've talked since he left the last time.
-
Cause of death = Oliver and Felicity
-
Very true. I should have said scheduled end of the reception.
-
Right? This better be near the end of the reception.

Question: Did they mention Barry and Iris taking photos before the planned wedding? Because they have a wedding photo in their apartment, but I had been under the impression that they were doing the whole "groom shouldn't see the bride before the ceremony" thing and that Barry saw Iris in her dress for the first time when she walked down the aisle, meaning photos would have been done after. Which couldn't have happened.

I just still don't get not liking getting an espresso machine as a gift. (Maybe they should have had Oliver and Felicity send something they'd obviously never use?) Do they like spending money at Jitters (since they go there all the time)? (Especially considering we don't even know if Iris makes any money. Is STAR Labs paying her? Is she actually still a reporter but they're not telling us that? Guess what, show? You could have used those couple lines to update us on Iris' job.) Does Barry like seeing he has a drink named after himself every day? Do they have an espresso machine at home they know will never break?
