Yeah, that's true. I think it's also because didn't we know pretty early on in S3 that they wanted him for a spin-off? Even though it was originally just him and then became LoT? So it was just a matter of getting through the Arrow episodes with him and knowing he'd be gone sooner or later. Whereas I have no idea what the EPs are thinking when I read their interviews this season, so that kind of affects how I look at S5 characters as well.
-
If they did that, then they couldn't redeem Susan because otherwise, what, Thea's entire SL would be being proven wrong? That would be horrible to do to a main character since S1 for a temp LI introduced in S5 that no one likes.
-
If they ever have Oliver consider that, I hope the team figures out how to keep people out of the lair by then. So they can lock Oliver out.
-
I just don't see any point to dragging out her character's storyline. And I especially don't want to see her taking up screen time the closer we get to the end of the season. And if Oliver's still dating her in 518? Just no.

I'm starting to think we're going to be stuck with Susan until the finale. What are they filming now, 518?

Heartaches, Bromances, True Love and Team Arrow: the Relationships Thread

He really does. And it really seems to come down to HT telling him, "Hey, this woman's interested." Considering Oliver never seemed to see anything wrong with dating a reporter and forgot what she did to his sister I guess the moment episode 503 ended, would he have had the same reaction to any woman HT presented as an option? The way Oliver's written this season, HT maybe could've been like, "So, this Cupid got out of prison and seems interested..." Maybe Oliver would've drawn the line then? -
I find it odd that what makes Green Arrow great according to that quote is his facial hair, his relationship and someone else. Nothing actually about Green Arrow himself. Not his skills in the field. Not what he does for his city. But those things?

So, based on the sneak peek, no one thought to tell Lance that they recruited someone named Dinah Drake?! REALLY?!

Heartaches, Bromances, True Love and Team Arrow: the Relationships Thread

Am I the only one who finds it odd how Oliver and Felicity sleeping with their LIs has been portrayed this season? We had that 5x05 Felicity/Billy scene and then Oliver talking about sleeping with the reporter whose job is to cover his office in his office at City Hall and then that post-sex scene at the end of 5x12. -
Maybe Thea goes to Felicity to look into Susan, Felicity uses Pandora, and that's how Thea finds out about Pandora? And then they maybe clue in Diggle? Maybe Lance? And that's how others find out what Felicity's doing before Oliver? (I just really want Thea part of taking down Susan. And for Thea to have something to do. And Felicity/Thea scenes.)
-
Is it bad that I want Oliver to suffer some sort of consequences for Susan? And if it turns out that she doesn't betray him because of whatever, he probably won't.
-
You're assuming they remember S2. I'm dreading the debate in the bunker. Really dreading it.
-
I will be shocked if the show ever brings that up again. Remember when she wanted to help people with the chip? The show doesn't.
-
We also know nothing about Susan other than that she's a reporter ... who apparently really cares about Star City? The casting announcement said she came from Coast City but that's never even been mentioned onscreen, so maybe they forgot about that? (Or it'll come up if Felicity or Thea do some digging into her?) Every single conversation has been Susan finding out information about Oliver, wanting him to open up about his past, but she's said nothing about herself.
-
Maybe we'll see Talia in Star City with Prometheus - and that final scene of 5x15 will be the official Prometheus reveal too?
-
I think they'd have to be complete idiots to make Susan the 5x15 cliffhanger during the short hiatus until 5x16. (So that might fit with this season.)
-
Exactly. And if he stays with her, since we know the relationship won't last, why would anyone want to date him after? Say they've decided to wait until the end of the season for some big Olicity shocker if they're going to get them back together - why would Felicity want to be with him again after this? And if they've decided to go the Oliver/Tinah route, I feel like they're just going to be showing Tinah sides of Oliver that make her question why she signed up to work with him - the conversation in 5x12 where she called him out and then him making a horrible choice in a relationship - why would she then look at him and go, "hmm, relationship with this guy sounds good"? You know, every time I see Billy mentioned, I can't help but wonder why we're spending all this time on Susan if she doesn't betray him when we still don't even know how Felicity met Billy - especially every time WM mentions how important his death is for Felicity's current arc.
-
See, I keep going back to the fact that she met up with her PI or whoever that was after sleeping with Oliver. If they would have reversed the order of those scenes, we could have gotten Susan "torn" about her story on him. Instead, the last time we see Susan in 512, she's happily receiving information that could lead to quite the big story. Now, that's not to say that it still won't end up being her not exposing him because of "feelings" or whatever, but what we're seeing onscreen isn't suggesting that. Then again, look at this season, so you never know ... Exactly. He's been stupid from the beginning with her. HT tells him to date her? He goes, "Okay, sounds great!" Even if she ends up not screwing him over, she's still gathering all this information (probably in one place too) and making it easy for someone else to. Although, since her first episode did see her blaming someone else (her producer), I could see them have her blame someone else again. I really don't get why they're trying to make this relationship more than it is. She's a temporary LI. Everyone knows that. Or do they really think that the audience might actually think that he's going to end up with a reporter no one likes?
-
Yep. If he's playing her, is he so determined to go through with whatever his plans are that he's willing to ruin the real relationships in his life? It would be one thing if Thea was telling Oliver that dating Susan was a bad idea with other people around. But it's just been them, right? Unless he thinks his office is bugged? Which, let's face it, Susan probably could have bugged it since he left her in there alone. He left the reporter alone in his office at City Hall before they even went out for drinks "as friends" the first time. Oh, the stupidity. I feel like every time we discuss Oliver's maybe playing Susan, we're really practically begging the show, "Please, don't let Oliver really be as stupid as he's coming across. Please."
-
If Oliver and Thea are estranged because of Susan ... how stupid are they making Oliver? Are they really that determined for whatever plot they have planned for this reporter? No wonder Prometheus is MIA right now. As I've said, Oliver's doing his job for him. This is at least new information about Thea in 5B. I just wish it was a bit clearer.

The Starling City Times: News and Media about Arrow

If this happens, I'd love it if Tinah just decides to leave Star City. "You know what? This is just weird. I'm going to go back to Hub City/see if X City needs some help." -
I think it's because of how long it took for Diggle and Felicity to get flashbacks.

Yep. I feel like when WM speaks, I really start to question if I missed whole episodes of the show. -
Me too. I have to admit I'm wary about this week's episode - even more so after seeing it described as "really interesting," even with the follow-up reply. And I have to wonder - if they didn't have Rene and I'm assuming what they wanted to be his backstory, would we get this episode?

They have never talked about another actor's return to Arrow - or any show - as much as they have KC's. This is getting ridiculous. I feel like it's more than they talked about her when LL was alive. Is every interview going to feature a Q about her coming back from now on?
