And The Golden Arrow Goes To...: Awards, Nominations, and Recognition
insomniadreams88 replied to statsgirl's topic in Arrow
Seeing Vigilante on the list just makes me bitter about that storyline all over again. Was there any point to Vigilante appearing in season 5 other than to have people assume he was Chase? (No. Vigilante never really got a chance to do anything that would earn him/her the title of Best Villain.) Something tells me that's going to end up being a comment section I'm never going to want to go near. -
Whenever I think about the 100th episode, I get so annoyed, not just at the L/O stuff (although that's part of it), but because Felicity and EBR deserved so much better than what they gave her. Not one real interaction with Oliver or Diggle.

And The Golden Arrow Goes To...: Awards, Nominations, and Recognition
insomniadreams88 replied to statsgirl's topic in Arrow
I think the problem is that I've never seen MG or WM bring up this fact in an interview and it was mentioned, what, once on the show? So it's easy for people who don't like Felicity to ignore that fact and use Havenrock as a reason not to like her, especially when these types of polls come up and it's all about explaining why a character should be least favorite. It doesn't help that in season 5, Havenrock was almost all about Rory and we got that interview with the anti-Felicity POV quote. -
I wouldn't mind seeing the Huntress again, but I don't particularly care if we don't. I know she was in the 2.5 comics, but considering how they just ignored the 1.5 comics with 419, I honestly have no idea what we should even begin to expect if they do bring her back.

And The Golden Arrow Goes To...: Awards, Nominations, and Recognition

As much as Curtis annoyed me this season, at least he didn't make me hate the main character of the show at times like Susan did. So, yeah, easy to pick Susan as least favorite. -

GreenArrowTV has the least favorite character of S5 poll up: http://www.greenarrowtv.com/2017-greenarrowtv-awards-pick-your-least-favorite-character-of-arrow-season-5/ That was an easy pick. -
Is it weird that I can't help but look at the character's name - Samanda - think it's too similar to Samantha and go, "another point in the Samantha dies column"?
-
Ugh, that's so disappointing! :(

YES to Rory's return! It's probably too much to hope that he'll be back for more than one episode, so I'll take what I can get.

Rene. Sadly, I'm half-serious and wouldn't be surprised if this happens. Never mind all the reasons it shouldn't happen. Very true. Have we even gotten any comments about Oliver as mayor since S5 ended? I feel like the last time we had comments about Oliver as mayor in S6 was towards the end of S5 when WM said something very similar to what had already been said about him in S5? Maybe they're waiting to talk about villains until they announce the casting of Richard Dragon for some reason? What I find strange is that in the IGN interview in the Spoilers Only thread, MG says BS and Dinah survived but won't say anything beyond that, despite RG's series regular status for S6 being announced at the same time as JH's. I wonder if they would have played coy with Dinah's status if she wasn't going to officially be BC when the season begins and they didn't want to show off her new costume and have the BC/BS fight in the trailer.

Heartaches, Bromances, True Love and Team Arrow: the Relationships Thread
insomniadreams88 replied to quarks's topic in Arrow
I guarantee you that you took more time to type this out than anyone working on the show took to think about Billy as a character because he didn't matter beyond "Felicity's boyfriend killed by Oliver and an excuse for Oliver to date Susan for that (crappy) storyline." They never addressed what Felicity told him she did all day or even how they met because those facts didn't matter for the story they were so determined to tell. -
If they want Oliver to be grieving - even months later in the present in the premiere - he will be, no matter who dies. They'll come up with some (weak) reason for it. Although comments about Oliver grieving can simply be because he's the only one whose reaction they can definitively talk about. They can't even really talk about William - not that it appears anyone has asked about him - because the only person the kid would grieve is his mother and while it seems they're all but saying "Samantha is dead/at the very least seriously injured and in a coma," they're not going to come out and say that. Has KL been spotted on set? I wouldn't be surprised if they do the presumed dead but maybe shows up later for Nyssa depending on actor availability. I'm sure they have at least one more "husband" comment in them.

The Starling City Times: News and Media about Arrow
insomniadreams88 replied to Grammaeryn's topic in Arrow
And I was just thinking I was pleasantly surprised that it seemed like KC had finally let go of O/L (apparently on any Earth, even if they're not from the same Earth). I haven't watched the interview nor will I (I refuse to go to comicbook.com if I can avoid it). And have there been any articles or comments from anyone that point out a redeemed BS does not mean she'll suddenly become E1 LL? -
Same. If he sticks around, I hope his island explosion experience changes him back to the character I used to like. But I don't think they're even aware that they need to do something about his character so I don't know if that'll happen?
-
I know we got that WM quote about how Helix isn't happy with Felicity, but have we gotten any quotes about what Felicity thinks of Helix post-519?
-
I expect to see BS in the crossover in some capacity just so they can have Sara meet BS. Maybe they'll have Sara end up knocking her out too, just like Lance did in the finale.
-
That was when she apparently went from half-hugging Felicity after Billy's death straight to the airport because she was out of town the next day. They did not think that through with the lack of a time jump between 509 and 510. It's things like that and not returning when Oliver was tortured that make a coma to explain an absence not seem so bad. Although since she's no longer in the mayor's office and if they don't have her suit up again (at least not full-time), it would be pretty easy to just not have her apppear in an episode without needing her to be out of town/in a coma.
-
While I don't want Thea in a coma, I'd rather they use that as an excuse for her absence than do what they did last year when they had her out of town and apparently unable to come back to see how her brother was doing after a week of torture because ... of no explanation ever given on-screen?
-
That's my thinking too. I wouldn't buy William calling Oliver "dad" even if he's spent every single second since the island with him. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the thought process behind it is simply so that the audience sees William go from calling Oliver "Oliver" to "dad" at some point in the season, not because anyone in the writers' room has thought about where their relationship should be in the premiere. It's probably one of those tentpoles they have for the season: "William calls Oliver 'dad' for the first time - and is then kidnapped (again) when he's lured down a dark alley with crayons."
-
I wonder if MG is thinking he can pull off an end-of-premiere surprise that hints at "Yep, wedding coming, what you knew because of the cons over the summer? We thought we were being so sly! We were so focused on pretending everyone was dead!" (Maybe like how they thought they'd shock everyone at the end of the premiere with Felicity's BF, but by then, everyone already knew?)
-
They probably forgot about that along with the second check. I feel like Pike is an obvious choice (but he's still on my list, just not that high up). I really hope the reveal comes before the midseason break. I don't think I've seen anything about when we'll find out? But if they wait until 2018 to reveal the identity of a character they introduced in 2016... I honestly don't really care anymore about Vigilante. When the character was first introduced, sure, a bit. But now? Nope.
-
I do wonder if they just didn't give EBR and EK any talking points. Either because it's too spoilery or they just don't have anything really coming up in the first few episodes. It is strange when you look at all the interviews together. They're doing this stupid "we don't know who lives" thing, yet they're giving whole interviews about Dinah, teasing a new love interest for her, showing off the new BC suit (which I understand, but still), etc.
-
I feel like he said the exact same thing going back as far as last summer. I wouldn't be surprised if he's still saying it going into the S6 finale.
