  1. I thought the Sharks were a little short sighted on the sleep mask. I feel like most people enjoy a nap (not me) and have experience with that zombifying feeling that comes with waking up at the wrong time. If the jammie wearers had taken the time to do some research on market size for those really popular (and expensive!) wake up lights made by Phillips and other companies, it may have helped illuminate the money behind the mask. This is of course assuming that with whatever light, timer and battery stuff is in the mask, it's actually comfortable enough to sleep in.
  2. So who won the pool? There must have been a cancellation pool, right?
  3. I just loved the fight Mike tried to pick with the beekeeper while bee boy was being totally calm. My grandmother's dead. THEN WHY ARE YOU DRIVING HER CAR?????? She gave it to me. also? "You know you're on TV, right?" sent me into giggles. Sorry if the above is slightly misquoted, I'm working from memory. Edited to add that I guess there's no point now in bringing up Piraro's Halloween frippery.
  4. I just amused myself for a good minute doing my own interpretation of Andre Braugher reading that line with different inflections and cackling with glee. How completely absurd - I love it!
  5. I really loved the moment where Maya walked up to Ida Davidsen, raised a finger, opened her mouth to begin reciting the order...and then simply spun on her heel and walked away, realizing she was not ready yet. It was a perfect false start, and something I could see myself doing repeatedly in that situation.
  6. ...and over here, I heard it as "...and had a stepdaughter". I was baffled but that's not unusual for this show.
  7. That thing was so huge we wondered at one point if it was a tiny mouse. Still celebrating the ouster of Drewche. You might be able to get away with throwing a challenge (maybe - if you do it a little more convincingly than he did) but topping that off with world class asshattery is a serious mistake.
  8. There was massive cringing on my couch.
  9. In my opinion, you should be thanking your lucky stars!
  10. Unfortunately, 'thirsty' has already happened. Spend a little time on Whisper and you'll see that Kids These Days have embraced it.
  11. A chicken tractor is a thing, and certainly can work for clearing, fertilizing and tilling soil (my chickens can easily dig six inches down in my very heavy clay soil if they want to set up a dust bath area) but it takes some time. I was trying to understand why everyone is so angry. They have shelter and food (maybe not as much as they'd like) and water. Dan Piraro is a fine cartooninst and he has a great voice but his is a very distracting look for a reality TV host. At one point we were arguing about whether his soil patch was shaped like pi rather than listening to what he was saying.
  12. Yep, sorry. Friend of a friend, someone I've met in passing.
  13. The Colusa story was really compelling. The investigators' frustration was so palpable when they just couldn't get anywhere until they found that blank sheet of paper. Pete Moore is a FOAF who used to live in the area. I have heard how hard this has been for him and I'm glad to see that the show came down on the "let it go, people - he didn't do it" side of things.
  14. Nichols: "You can't blame the wolf. Lamb's delicious. That's smart eating."
  15. I have a friend whose father was excommunicated for divorce, probably in the early to late 60s.
  16. No, the subtitle weirdness has been all over the map for me. Watching on a newer, non Roku device got me usable subtitles witout turning on CC for this and another episode with a lot of German (look at me, being vague), but for yet another episode with lots of foreign language, the subtitles displayed about five minutes after the scenes were over. I've seen some debate about whether to blame Netfix or Roku for the lack of subtitles, but it's definitely been problematic to understand several of this season's episodes. The struggle is real! I agree that I like the development of Caputo wanting to do the human decency minimum for the inmates, and it seemed like the motivation was because it's the right thing to do, not because it's his job description.
  17. I was thinking with all the scented product she put in the bath, the guard was going to take one whiff and go "hmmm, lavender" and bust Morello on grounds of smelling deluxe.
  18. I could watch Suzanne crack everyone up by hollering "THE BUTT!" all day long.
  19. I just love that Caputo's in a band named Sideboob! I was pretty confused when I watched this episode the first time using my older Roku to stream - it didn't display any subtitles. Rewatched on my iPad and caught the details with the subtitles.
  20. The show's based on the book, and the character is named Pennsatucky in the book, so Pennsatucky is correct in the discussion of OITNB. I feel your pain a little bit, though - it's hard for me to type Taystee, for example :^)
  21. So happy to have more OITNB to watch! It took me a few moments to square Lori Petty's distinctive voice with what I thought was Ellen's face. Lori does look different from her early 90s roles, but I figure I don't look the same as I did 23 years ago either. It's been awhile since I read the book, I sort of assumed that they'd used all the book material in season 1 and had forgotten the whole Con Air thing.
  22. Agreed on the shirtless! They could just have Renard walk through every scene without a shirt (talking on the phone if necessary) and I'd tune in every week. I missed most of the episode, just tuned in in time to see Renard get shot and Trubel bust out some beheading but it sounds like I missed some unpopular Adalind/Juliette/Nick shenaningans earlier. Wu's going to be demanding some answers now!
  23. I just about wore out my 5 second rewind button last night. There was pandemonium on the sofa as we celebrated Tony's llaaaaaama talk (why llamas, WHY? But yay!) and Skeletor slinging (I will always wave my Skeletor finger in your face!). I did note last night that despite his seemingly vacant expressions, Woo (my fake Survivor boyfriend who has great island hair) uses some polysyllabic words.
  24. The Hump Day camel in those Geico commercials springs to mind.
  25. jpgr, I am sorry for your loss - I'm just a few days into that process myself, and it's hard.
