  1. I thought at first that was going to be the storyline with Fanny’s sister (whose name I’ve forgotten). Which book is that in? Since they’re condensing, I don’t remember the order of a lot of the things that happen on their way to fight. I’m fine with not seeing a ton of that stuff either, the battle scenes have always been too long for me in the books.
  2. I got 20 minutes into this and had to turn it off. Just didn’t want to watch any more.
  3. So, because of the whole stolen gold storyline they showed, I’m guessing they’re going to show the Rob Cameron/Jem 1980 stuff too? Ugh, I did not like that whole thing. It felt convoluted and unrealistic to me in the books. But then again, I don’t need the whole next season to be war scenes either, that gets to be a little much for me in the books too. And the season is almost half over, when are we going to meet Denny and Rachel? I can’t even remember how it happened in the books either actually.
  4. I was just watching some behind the scenes thing from Outlander and they were making fun of the Canadian cast member when he said “about.” 😀 I grew up in Maine but did not have a Downeast accent, and now live in the Mid-Atlantic and don’t have that accent either, but when we first moved down here, it sounded SO southern to me after coming from New England.
  5. I wondered the same thing. I believe before they come back to the past, Bree takes them to Disneyland, doesn’t she? It’s been a while since I read that book.
  6. I think that was Mrs. Bug, wasn’t it? I liked this episode a lot. Funny thing I was just telling my husband tonight about how Bree and Roger went back to the late 70s/early 80s and about Jamie’s dream with electric light and both those things showed up in today’s episode.
  7. I don’t remember if I said this last week or not, but I am not a fan of Sinead’s rendition of the theme song.
  8. I noticed that too about the finger tapping. Great continuity over the seasons.
  9. To be fair, it seems to vary how much pain kidney stones cause. I have one in my ureter that caused a couple episodes of intense but short-lived pain a few months ago but not nearly like childbirth. Went to the urologist and they found it’s still there and is surprised I haven’t had more problems. I have a procedure for removal scheduled for later this summer unless I pass it first. But I have a coworker whose experience was like Katie’s, severe pain that she went to the ER for.
  10. I thought it too as first. I said to my husband “are they pulling a Dallas?” And then my college aged kids had to ask me what that meant, lol.
  11. Yeah, I’m glad they didn’t go there.
  12. Yes! I have loved With Or Without You since the song came out and now, it’s always going to make me think of that episode.
  13. I was surprised because she always performs in a black dress.
  14. “Not that there’s anything wrong with that” comes to mind for 90s tv.
  15. I feel the same way about some of the locker room talk and that they all went to clean up the restaurant, all hung out together in Amsterdam, etc. In real life, are all the teammates on any sort of team friends who hang out all the time? I don’t hang out with all my coworkers (well, I work remotely permanently now, but even before). I find it hard to believe none of the footballers have families or family responsibilities to tend to. I guess if they do, we just don’t see it.
  16. My husband (who normally isn’t bothered by language) said he thought all the f-bombs were just not realistic, that they wouldn’t all talk to each other like that all the time. And it makes sense, normally, not everyone you interact with uses the same type to language - at least not everyone I talk to doesn’t use “f” every other word. Sorry, something weird happened when I tried to edit.
  17. Exactly what I said to my husband, but I think I used the phrase “ripped it off” 😆.
  18. Might be a hot take but I really like the flash forwards. We might know some things about them in the 80s but we don’t know how they got there. We’re enjoying this season already more than last season.
  19. Can’t wait for this one! I read his most recent memoir a couple years ago (the title is escaping me) and it was very good.
  20. I loved it. She was my childhood. I feel the same way I did when I watched the Mr. Rogers documentary. I want to reread all her books (I have a box set with several like Margaret, Then Again and Deenie) and go to her bookstore in Key West. I could immediately remember which cover I had for all the books when I was a kid.
  21. For a good couple of minutes I thought it was Rachel Brosnahan.
  22. Started her new book today. When I picked it up from the library I thought it’s short, no problem. Wow, a lot of Bible thumping to get through. Sorry if that’s your jam, it’s not mine. But it is interesting how she talks about what she thought as a kid and what she believes now. (Or maybe it’s what her husband believes? But at least she wears pants and isn’t going to have 19 kids.) I can’t imagine having so much anxiety about everything as a child. Poor kid.
  23. Same, we watched week by week and the first two didn’t make me feel like I wished they had all dropped at once. But by the third one I really started liking it.
