  1. I... don't know how confident Emily is. And I don't mean that in a negative way. Many of us are not confident and body-positive when it comes to ourselves! But, like you say, she's lost a lot of weight -- which is totally her prerogative and fine! No bodies are bad bodies! However, it does suggest that she didn't love her body the way it was. Twice now she's also read fat-shaming microaggressions into statements that were not at all fat-shaming microaggressions: first, when Heather made the comment about the pastries being like Emily's luscious boobs, and then when Heather made the Snuffleaupagus comment -- which (see above) seemed to be about Emily's damaged nose (??) and not at all about her weight. Heather may be many things, but I've never heard her make any negative comment about another housewife's size ever. I think even Heather is self-aware enough to know how terrible the optics of that would be.
  2. I love the idea of Snuffleupagus as some sort of literary device, like a MacGuffin or Chekov's gun. I can't bring myself to go back and watch any of this again... but did anyone catch the actual context in which Heather referred to Emily as "Snuffleupagus"? It seemed to be something related to Emily damaging her nose when she jumped into the cenote? Is that correct?
  3. Ok, now I desperately need a GIF of Shannon saying "Never mix, never worry."
  4. Jenn is really in a no-win situation. If she stays silent or plays it cool, the other women will harangue her about having "no emoooootionnnn" and Tamra will keep nipping at her until Tamra gets what she wants, which is a reaction. But if Jenn does respond, and gives Tamra that reaction, then Tamra will prolong the interaction for drama points, and the "Ryan is an asshole" storyline will get more airtime. Also, having a male partner who sucks is a grand tradition on this show, hearkening back to Slade, Jim Bellino, and Matt Keough. And it's not like this current crop of women has a track record for picking such winners. Shannon's ex-husband was unfaithful and participated in a seriously disturbing nude photo shoot I will never unsee. Gina's ex-husband was physically and verbally abusive. Vicki has dated cheaters and cancer-scammers. Folks are starting to come around on Emily's husband now, but consensus for years was that he was an asshole. All of the pearl-clutching about Jenn's boyfriend is absolutely ridiculous. People in glass houses!!
  5. Ha, you're right. As I was writing the comment, I was thinking, "Well, in a crude sense, that's probably exactly what she did." My first thought was actually that she looks like a drag queen, but then I realized that's an insult to drag queens.
  6. I mean, it's Tamra so there didn't necessarily need to be a reason she went after Jenn. She's willing to go for anyone's jugular for anything at any time, with zero impetus, just to hold onto her orange.
  7. I agree with you about Tamra, but holy fuck that photo of Vicki is the stuff of nightmares! She looks like she's peeled off someone else's face and sewn it on as her own.
  8. Sai can be annoying, but I got the sense that she was joking when she made that comment about working at Sears being a hardship.
  9. At this rate we may not know for decades. Apparently new evidence in the Kennedy assassination has only recently come to light.
  10. I've been a defender of this cast, and I still do think that some of them are naturally funny and interesting, but ... this episode. Oof. You know it's bad when I start nostalgically yearning for Turtle Time.
  11. He needs to get together with the cooks from the ranch they visited and do an aftershow. I will say, I found it refreshing to see a RHW bring her mom on the show and not throw mom under the bus about giving her an awful childhood.
  12. 110%!!! Emily (and to a lesser extent the other women) has been subjecting Heather to nasty little pin pricks all season. Don't get me wrong -- there are legitimate critiques to make about Heather! But Emily has been hypervigilant about Heather all season, looking for anything she says or does to be a "gotcha!" Also, Emily saying that Heather gets a pass for her bad behavior is interesting..... That may be true, but I actually feel like it's Emily who often gets a pass! She's relatable (I love food! I have cellulite! My kids annoy me!... I mean, I get it.) and she can be funny and probably lots of fun to hang out with, but she is such a shit-stirrer! She shit-stirs all. the. time. and nobody ever calls her out on it! Or if they do, she issues a quick apology and suddenly all is forgiven. Can you imagine if Heather had behaved that way at a party of Emily's? The women would have stuck her on a spit with an apple in her mouth. This!!! Of course Heather doesn't trust these women. I wouldn't tell Tamra my favorite color.
  13. I understand why the women didn't attempt to carve traditional jack-o-lanterns, when Taylor is already the scariest jack-o-lantern of them all.
  14. Okay, unpopular opinion I guess...so, start sharpening your pitchforks.... but.....I don't think these women are that terrible, by RHW standards. Maybe it's just the New Yorker in me, but -- while, yes, these women are caustic, direct, and sarcastic, I don't think they're taking any of this too seriously. They seem to be just leaning into their roles and having fun. Overall, the conflicts and accusations are pretty low-stakes (e.g. Erin doesn't have food at events, Jenna is too self-promotional, etc.). Even the way they approached Jenna.... I agree with the poster above who said they likely don't have a full understanding of what's going on with her genetic disorder, and that Jenna seems to be much more forthcoming in her talking heads than she is with the women. In her conversation with Erin, she did seem to be brushing off the issue with her skin and suggesting that she was "really" leaving early to be in first class. Erin was a jerk for the way she relayed the conversation to the women, but, let's be honest: it's on tape. We all would have seen it whether Erin had said anything or not. And, Jenna is the one who relayed Jessel's "cackling h" remark to Erin, so it's not like Jenna is some saint who doesn't engage in the gossip herself. I can completely understand how filming a show like this might be nightmarish for someone who is an introvert, socially awkward, and possibly neurodivergent. 110% But.... it can be true that Jenna wrongly comes off as aloof and snobby when she's not and also that maybe (yes, get out your pitchforks!) she also is a little bit snobby (not for her flight preferences, but for assuming that folks have viewed multiple photos of her on red carpets, for instance.) And I say this as someone who actually really likes Jenna! She is fallible, as they all are. But what are they accusing her of, really? She gives away too many branded products? She's a diva for wanting to fly first class? (I don't agree with them about that, by the way.) Like, none of this is that deep. And I'm 100% sure that if Jenna just owned it and said "Yep, I wanted to fly first class because it's comfy!" they'd just laugh about it, drop it, and move on. Maybe this is a low bar, but they're not going after each other's children, marriages, finances, accusing each other of stealing houses, etc. Again, the stakes are low, and I'm enjoying that about the show. Everyone else seems to hate this reboot and these women, so I will sit at my table for 1 and sip my (non-Ramona) pinot grigio.
  15. How can I ever watch Jessel again and not think of this descriptor? Amazing. 100%. I like Jenna too, but this move is Housewives 101. I found Bethenny really likable in her first season too.
  16. Andy has to ask this at the reunion, right? Inquiring minds want to know!
  17. I find it refreshing that these women are beautiful but they aren't accompanied by glam squads and that they are wearing stylish yet normal/casual clothing at the resort.
  18. I *think* she was Tamra’s “friend” since they knew each other from Ultimate Girls Trip?
  19. Thank you. I appreciate that, and I'm so sorry that happened to you as well. It seems like we can all agree that Tamra is terrible. And not just garden variety Real Housewife terrible but truly a level beyond that. If she doesn't get her comeuppance this season or on the reunion then... I don't even know, you guys. Let's get together and send her glitter in the mail or something.
  20. Okay. *Takes deep breath* I don't think anyone's ignoring anything though. We can point out something Emily and Gina did that's offensive to us without it taking away from our outrage about other things that Tamra has done. Just like people aren't bringing up Vicki's cancer scam every time they're critiquing another cast member for something. All of these separate outrages can coexist and they can all be at different levels. You mentioned that Tamra has justified Naked Wasted on her podcast. I don't listen to that, and it's not fodder for our discussion here, but if that's true, let me just say: FLAMES, ON THE SIDES OF MY FACE... If Tamra were justifying Naked Wasted on the show, I'm pretty sure there would be a huge amount of outrage on this forum, and I'd be leading the charge.
  21. I'm not sure if this is directed at me, but since you quoted my post I'm going to assume so. Personally, I bring up Naked Wasted all the time, and it's one of the key reasons I hate Tamra and think she shouldn't be on this show. Like... I hate Tamra. This cannot be overstated. I LOATHE TAMRA. Most of my posts this season have been about how angry I am that Tamra is skating yet again. And I'm not saying anywhere that sex abuse victims are not as important as people impacted by DUIs. I'm not sure you're getting that???? I try not to get too worked up about reality TV message boards, because we're all here to snark and have fun, but honestly I find that offensive. I'm a survivor of sexual assault myself so there's no way in hell I'd ever downplay something like that. Tamra and her son sicken me. I can't speak for other posters, obviously, but I absolutely think that Gina should be able to learn from her mistakes and move on! I don't think anyone should be bringing up her years-old DUI at this point (but it's the RHW so of course they'll keep on dredging up dirt from years ago). I said in my post that Shannon is an ass for saying what she did and that Gina is rightfully angry. But both things can be true! Tamra is Satan. And it can also be true that Gina and Emily are framing DUIs (at least in their talking heads this season) as a silly little mistake that happens to lots of people -- and that's both statistically untrue and weird tonally, rubbing some of us the wrong way. I'm not saying that the two things are equivalent; just that the two of them are true. tl;dr Please do not accuse me of supporting sexual abuse because I said that Gina and Emily are acting a little too casual about Gina's DUI.
  22. Since I'm a nerd, I did some research on this claim, and I wouldn't say that it's true. Nationwide, 2.27% of all licensed drivers have ever had a citation for a DUI. In Orange County, in 2017 (the last year I can find data for), there were 0.4 DUI arrests per 100 licensed drivers. Shannon is out of her gourd, obviously, and should never have said what she did about Gina's kids going to DFS. Gina is 100% in the right to be pissed about that. But I honestly find it gross the way that Gina and Emily are playing this off as a simple mistake that happens to lots of people. (I find some of Emily's other views to be gross as well, but that's beyond the scope of this board.) They're acting like Gina accidentally parked in a tow zone -- and when Gina does get worked up about what happened, it's always about her and the impact on her. Not about her horror at the fact that she could have seriously injured or killed someone. (To be clear: the culture of drinking and driving is an alarming problem in this country, these stats don't encompass all of the people who drive drunk and never get caught, and even 2.27% is way too high! I'm not trying to downplay this social issue. But for Emily and Gina to frame this as a common mistake is so wrong, in my opinion.)
  23. Sorry, I should have clarified that I wasn't questioning whether Josh Altman is the real deal. I can see how my original post came off that way, especially since there's so much to be skeptical about when it comes to the "reality" of these shows! I know that he's on that other show, and I don't doubt that he sells expensive properties. I was just expressing surprise because, in my experience, people in high-end sales tend to cultivate a certain "look," and this guy looked like he had just rolled out of bed and into Terry and Heather's manse.
