  1. I think TMIB is much too old to be Arnold's son. Or maybe not. Assuming Ford and Arnold were about the same age, Hopkins was born in 1937, and Harris in 1950, so it is possible.
  2. I wondered whether Armistice had the tattoo in the first episode, I couldn't remember. Even if she did, that doesn't mean it had the same, or any explanation, just as Teddy did not know his back story with Wyatt until Ford uploaded it. I don't think TMIB knows what the maze is. It seems he believes the maze is a part of the park where the stakes are real, and he could well die at the hands of a host. The maze does seem to be some sort of testing area for the hosts. Perhaps if they master it, that shows they are sentient and are either promoted to the staff or destroyed. That might support the theory some have that Bernard and the head of security are robots. Speaking of Bernard, notice how Theresa uses him like a sex-bot? And if he is a bot, that would help explain why he isn't bothered by cheating on his wife. For the record, though, I'm not yet a Bernard Is A Bot team member.
  3. I sometimes wonder whether the Dumpster Debacle was a test run to see if they could get away with killing Glenn. If so, then despite people being upset about his putative death, they decided "Yeah, we can do it."
  4. We got another clue, maybe, as to where Westworld is. It's in the scene where Delores looks up at the moon, which then dissolves into an overhead light. Looked like our moon (I'm no astronomer). That seems to rule out the other planet/our moon possibility. Could still be in a huge underground facility or under a dome (or both). That would explain the always pleasant weather - climate control. Or the moon she saw is not ours, or is an illusion.
  5. The Mighty Peanut - I think you're right, Abraham having sex was the ultimate gross out.
  6. I agree that the hacienda is toast. Indeed, it appears that Ford is engaged in a massive rebuild of at least part of the park.
  7. Theresa can stand up to Ford because he's not her boss - she works for corporate (Delos), the corporation that owns Westworld. She's in an entirely different chain of command.
  8. I've heard grown men have torn their own heads off to avoid listening to Negan.
  9. As they say in FTWD, "A little dab'll do you!"
  10. I know. The show has killed off a lot of non-minority characters, to be fair. There are, however, a lot of people here and elsewhere who have expressed the opinion that minority characters are underrepresented and more likely to die, with some justification. So, the post was a take on that.
  11. Ford's hand doesn't send the wi-fi signal, the robot who sees the hand signal relays it to the others by wi-fi. That's my theory, anyway.
  12. Pure speculation on my part - He has programmed the robots to respond to his hand signals and, when appropriate, to relay that signal to robots not in sight of the signal. In this instance, he signaled the head waiter to cease operating, who then relayed that signal (by a form of wi-fi) to the others to whom the signal applied.
  13. As the master programmer, he probably has that installed in all the robots.
  14. Well, there you go. I thought he was Teddy. My mistake.
  15. I think the point of this episode was to show TPTB's commitment to diversity. "See? We don't just kill off African-American characters, we kill off Asian-American characters, too!" I guess we should be happy that Rosita didn't step up to the plate. Speaking of whom, I wish she would move to the west coast and knock some sense into those FTWD losers. I also think they put off the deaths because they knew that otherwise everyone would be waiting for Rick to get his revenge right away, and they intend to drag out this Negan storyline for the whole season, if not longer.
  16. No, not the guy in the tree, I know that was Teddy. I meant the bounty hunter with William and Logan when they take on Slim's gang, who is later killed by Logan. More thoughts on TMIB. He wants to face death, whether he actually wants to die or not. He explicitly told Snake Woman that you could do anything in this world but die. He knows Arnold did, and wants to face death himself. He wants to show he can win, even when there's a chance he could lose. I think it's significant that Dolores is clothed when she talks to Bernard. As we've seen in the preview, she's naked when Ford talks to her. I also think her talks with Bernard (or at least some of them) are face to face. This is because at the end of one, he told her to go up top before she was missed. If he was interacting with her by remote while she was in sleep mode, he would have told her to wake up.
  17. I'm not convinced that we are seeing different timelines, per se. I do think that some of the hosts, Delores and Maeve in particular, are having flashbacks that are so real to them that they cannot distinguish the past from the present. One thing that I wondered about - Was that Teddy with William and Logan on the bounty hunt? I've watched it twice and couldn't be sure. We never got a good close-up of him. He definitely was similar to Teddy (who was the one who asked William to go on the bounty hunt). If it was Teddy, he and Delores did not react to each other's presence (not programmed to in that scenario?), and would lend strong support to those arguing that there are different timelines in play. So far as we know, there are no duplicate hosts. As to always winning - the staff can intervene to have you lose (if not die) and slow you down, as they did to the guests taking part in Hector's shoot up of the town, and considered doing to TMIB at the cantina. I'm willing to hand wave the guns/bullets for now. Like rayguns in a sci-fi movie, I can just accept it. One way to avoid injuries to guests would be facial recognition. The hosts probably are programmed to "recognize" all other hosts as such, and react accordingly to those they don't "recognize". As to TMIB not having much time, that could refer to his stay in WW being limited to the maximum time allowed, or, perhaps, he is dying or near death (disease is conquered in this time according to Ford, but people still die) and wants to go out in a blaze of glory in WW.
  18. They're cyborgs, with both mechanical and organic components. From the look of things, I'd say that the organic predominates; for them to be so realistic, it would have to.
  19. I totally think TPTB aren't clever enough to have written it that way.
  20. Seriously? Are we supposed to be excited about the brutal killing of (at least) one major character?
  21. Bernard has been having private conversations with Dolores, that he is is careful to order her not to mention to anyone else. This is not routine maintenance.
  22. Reminds me of stories that some veterans had their PTSD triggered by watching "Saving Private Ryan". What kind of effect would being in Westworld have on people?
  23. I'm with you. It's Westworld for me tonight.
  24. That hasn't been addressed so far. The stray lifted a rather large rock, but I'd say it wasn't beyond what a human of his size could lift. I haven't seen anything done by a host yet that was beyond human capability; or beneath, for that matter.
  25. There is a whole other thread here to discuss those issues if you're interested.
